This stuff works! But, what I've found is the clear extend gel will lift while the pink extend gel holds forever, with or without this prep.

When I use clear extend gel, I found using the dehydrator actually helps w the lifting! So maybe try that out

Glad I watched this video before buying. Didn’t realize you had to go back and forth with it like that. I was assuming you just paint it on. Looks like a good product if you don’t have a drill though.

Why buff the nail top and use chemical etch? I thought this product was supposed to replace mechanical etch? Thank you

I find that with the clear extend gel, it’ll lift or come off. Not sure why

After applying the gel x prep to the whole nail do you use a base coat or go in directly with gel polish?

    •  Před 2 lety +2

Hi! You would go in directly with nail polish 💅🏻

Not happy with this product. I LOVE APRES , I actually work in the construction field and the nails is one of the few ways I maintain my feminine look when I’m in Muddy boots and running large machine. So I need the nails to last. I can actually make a set last me 10 days ( no chips or lifting) but the first week I purchased and used this product I lost 3 nails in the first two days. I was disappointed. I really wanted this product to make the set easier to install. I will stick to the old method

Can I paint/design the gel x nail before applying?

    • @MsReneeSparxXx
      @MsReneeSparxXx Před 3 lety +1

I find that you can but they say (I haven't tested it out) if the tip is too compact with color or design. It won't dry completely since the color is blocking the Extend gel and cure light. I say try it with 1 tip first. I'm going to pre design my tip and then apply today. I can keep you posted if you like.

@Apres I have searched for the hand held lamp on your site and have not been able to locate. Is it discontinued or out of stock?

You have to buy the huge lamp and the little mini flashlight lamp comes with the big lamp only, which is silly bc tons of people would buy the mini flashlight lamp. Only People that own nail salons are going to drop almost $500 on a nail lamp, verses people who enjoy doing their nails themselves just for personal use imo, they’re missing out on money not selling the mini flashlight alone.

You can just buy a curing flashlight from Amazon. Pack of 3 for $12 so you'll always have a backup too. Look up "Coolrunner 3pcs LED Flashlight, Small Glow Flashlights with 9 LED Lights, Portable Light Nail Dryer for Nail Gel"

@@nikky5626 yes! I meant to mention what Hannah likes nails said, I bought a $12 led UV flashlight off of amazing that takes AA batteries and it works amazingly, I also bought a gooseneck led UV light with clip for clipping to a table and an on/off switch I can hit with my knee off of Amazon, both work awesome for different situations!

Do you just allow to dry after etching? (If the tips are being used for press on nails)
    Please answer🥺

    •  Před 3 lety +4

Yes, please allow to dry after chemically etching with Gel-X™ Prep ❤️ The surface will be tacky!
