Thanks so much for the opportunity, it was really nice talking to you! Hope to see you at the next BuWizz Camp ;)
It was wonderful talking to you too! Yes hopefully weâll see each other again next year!
hello
Truly the legend!
You two are my favourite lego technic channels. Glad you two are collaboratingđ
Thanks! Enjoy our legendary technic discussion and interview!
What about sarels Lego technic workshop
Same
I love both of you guys! This is the collab I need!
Iâm so glad! I hope you enjoyed it
Thanks to both of you for this amazing interview.. the discussion was very interesting and enjoyable.. wish you more success â€
Our pleasure!
Cool interview. The talk about gearbox in supercars especially
Iâm so glad you enjoyed it
Awesome discussion! đ It was great seeing you both! Collabs are great, I like the new ideas emerging from such environment.
This... Is... AWESOME MAAAAAN đ€©đ€©đ€©đ
I appreciate it! Enjoy the interview
Great!
I actually really like some of the aspects of powered up. Dont get me wrong, a touch screen steering wheel and artificial gearing annoy the heck outta me but the transformation vehicle works great and 3rd party apps really help as well. I do wish there was a lego controller that was like a game controller or something but that can be setup to connect directly to powered up controllers and quickly adjusted to the set im using.
I completely agree! I lot of people at the buwizz gathering actually used a physical controller for their models
@Unbrickme you straight up have to fo some of these sets. Left handed steering controls alone make it a necessity for some of the sets.
Heck yeah! My two favorite LEGO youtubers! The discussion was excellent. I'm currently building the D11 and loving the build. I had an idea about the controller with arduino modules or raspberry pi, but you'd propably have to hack the C+ BT protocol first.
Let me know how you like the cat d11
@@Unbrickme It's nice. The functions are fun, although slow, and the build felt similar to Volvo A60H but in a bigger scale. I actually liked the gearbox and the mechanical solutions.
It was a pleasure to be mentioned in such an epic interview đ
Itâs an honor that you commented! May I ask, how did you get the cat d11 bulldozer so early?
@@Unbrickme Unfortunately, I can't reveal it đ
@@EricTrax connections at lego, got it
@@Unbrickme I was a very good boy then đ€Ł
You are both awesome!! đ€©
Thank you!
Great interview! I don't think that we need to sacrifice aesthetics for functionality or vice versa now that LEGO has created all those custom panels. In my mind it should be possible for them to rerelease the 8070 with Powered Up and better visuals, hopefully around the same price point!
Yes! #remakethe8070
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing!
Iâm glad you enjoyed it! Iâm a big fan!
@@Unbrickme :)
I really enjoyed the interview , thanks to both of you .
Iâm glad you liked it!
Best vid ever!!!, So happy to watch your guys collab!!! When will the Lego LR 13000 vid come out? Super excited for that vid
Iâm glad you enjoyed it. Video coming soon
Great interview! Really enjoyed it. Just found your channel and subscribed. Appreciate your authentic enthusiasm for Lego!
Thank you very much I appreciate your support
Very good interwiew!
Iâm happy you enjoyed it
Two of my favorite Technic youtubers, one video, one amazing interview!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing interview!!
Thank you!
Just casually dropping a 50+ minute interview lol
Yep
Really like both of your channels!. Great that you had a chance to meet and discuss. This was very interesting to me as I tend to agree with Unbrickme preferring functionality over form, but I also see the point RacingBrick is making here for playability and a balance of form and function. The suggestion of differentiating between different lines of technic could be the way forward. For pure sculptures though I prefer system bricks or a combination of technic and system. I do love distribution gearboxes as the mechanisms they produce can be a marvel. For example in the technic 8043 excavator it is just amazing what you can achieve with three motors, and in the case of the technic 42114 Volvo a60 Hauler the distribution gearbox makes a lot of sense. Selecting between two speeds and the dumping function is perfect as you would not typically need to use those at the same time. However, I do agree with RacingBrick that in the 42131 Bulldozer the gearbox was cumbersome and the set was too big. Regarding super cars I would prefer if the gearboxes has just 2 or three speeds as that is enough to show that functionality, but in exchange other functions would be more regularly added such as locking or limited slip differentials ands other functions such as in the awesome 8070 supercar. What I am trying to say is that I appreciate both of your perspectives!
Sorry, I should have said 4 motors for the 8083 and 3 speeds for the Volvo HaulerâŠ
17:40 I think that lego should start putting technic cars that are display pieces, such as the new Lamborghini under the name of speed champions, like they did when lego racers was still a thing, as RacingBrick mentioned (I'm talking about Ferrari models such as 8145, 8653 etc.). This way there would be space for functional technic sets
Yes functional technic and aesthetic technic need to be split up
Great interview, especially the discussion on aesthetics and functionality! Apparently TLG needs to make more sets with remotes and gearboxes :)
Yes absolutely! Iâm glad you enjoyed it
wow never thought you huys would colaborate! the best video
Thanks! Yeah it was an incredible experience! Racingbrick is even better in person than on his CZcams
Great video!
Thanks
Two legendary Technic youtubers meeting each other! I rate this 10/10 gearboxes!
Wow, thanks!
Nice collaboration video with thoughtful topics discussed. Would like to see similar videos with, like, Sariel, JangBricks, et al in the future. No pressure, though, no pressure :-)
Nice interview!
Iâm glad you enjoyed it
Very interesting interview. Amazing opinions. I am on the side of liking gearboxes
I think there should be different build variations of each set. Not so much an A and B build, which often is two different models, but for example the Jeep could have variations that are similar but different.
Give us a physical controller Lego!
#wewantaphtsicalcontroller
Very cool interview, lots of great ideas from Balazs, if only LEGO would like to listen people like him we would get a lot better models.
Yes! We also need to get a powered up version of the power functions motor set
great that you work together. And when can we expect a review of the crane from technica ?đ
Very soon!
@@Unbrickme I can not wait
This is awesome. Two Technic legends. Plus my favorite pastime is arguing with RacingBrick over the Cat D11!
Whatâs his stance on the cat d11 and whatâs yours?
Literally building 8070 while listening to this
Excellent! Let me know how you like it
Great to have watched this and looking forward to both of you guys reviews on the new #42146 liebherr LR 13000, regarding the system icons car sets these would not exist if it weren't for the lego technic part's that are used for the chassis, steering, suspension, cheers.
In glad you enjoyed our discussion
You guys dominate this conversation and say many things I appreciate and agree with and for these reasons I feel relief about the companies future, HOWEVER! the 1:8 cars 100% ABSOLUTELY require having gearboxes. That's the WHOLE point of them!
LEGO gets this, though. We have the 4158 and 4159 elements now. Huge monster pieces.
They don't sit on the shelf for the whole time. They get played with. What I actually need is a shelf with a treadmill built in. They're KINETIC sculptures. The clockwork (which stupid panel pieces often cover up) is part of the magic. Technic is derivative of Mecanno and K'nex, the heritage is that it's a toy to teach and show mechanical principles of engineering. What do you think of US20220247218A1? Seems like it might apply to "power functions" within Technic?
Nice
Interesting
@@Unbrickme True
I really appreciate the gearboxes in the technic cars. For those that like mechanisms, these engines add a lot to the build. It would be great if they were more explained and visible after the build is complete.
I agree gearboxes are epic
An official lego GBC line.... that would be cool
Absolutely! Iâd love to see that
Sariel should also be in the interview
Hopefully next year all three of us will make it to the buwizz gathering
LEGO explained how the gearboxes worked in 8880.
8070 is a good benchmark. So is 8145.
Hi we a have a big lego convention coming up in August here in Massachusetts Springfield u.s .. what can I expect when I go?
Probably something like, people bring their models and put them on tables, while the main crowd walks around and looks at everything. Whatâs the convention called?
Wow never been so early
And now you have
Nice job on the interview! The debate as to rather we should have such complex functions in a sculpture is a good one. It would make more sense if we had some power up functions in the 1/8 scale cars to legitimately teach us how a drive line works. @unbrickme I hope you are going to school to be a mechanical engineer. Follow your passion!
Thanks! Yes power functions in the 1:8 scale super cars would be amazing!
I think the perfect technic set is 42082. It`s big and it has a lot of cool mechanical stuff inside.
I disagree. The perfect set is the 8043. Rough terrain crane didnât even have suspension, even though it was a ROUGH TERRAIN crane
It's nice if a set has both functions and aesthetics, but there are too many race cars that prioritize aesthetics in recent years in my opinions.
I hate how wrong my hero is at 20:28. Kids: don't have heroes.
Wscvhjkll I just want to be able to see the whole thing and not have to worry about it anymore
What are you talking about?
this is a disappointment , the mayor topic seems to be a youtuber and at the very end building some creation with the lego technic . but later in the interview the real lego builder comes out !
