This is THE BEST 4 TRACK RECORDER EVER CREATED........I had 2......
I’ve watched so many tutorials before this, but I only NOW fully understand busing. Thank you!
Great tutorial. I've had a 424 sitting in my closet for years and am ready to start using it. I love the song and the "cheap guitar" sound. I have a plethora of great old inexpensive guitars.
Hey, man. I'm a bit late to the party by a few years, but getting the groove of dusting off old equipment and this video popped up exactly at the right time. Thanks for the deep look at the process and bringing some clarity to routing strategies. Seriously. Can't thank you enough.
Best 4 track tutorial I've ever seen well done. Theres a tape revival going on. And I'm really happy about that. Theres a warmth and fullness about analogue tape that cant be beaten.
type 1 tapes are made better than type 2 i got a few makes all performed better even the one that wasnt as good as my other 2.type 2 is for digital sounds.but has less range frequency hear a analogue vinyl record & it makes an sacd sound shit you can actually get 100 hrtz on an analogue recording but you need speakers with added filters tech similar to a guitar amp to boost the signal.but on a guitar amp you use a full range frequency tube to boost the range these speakers are made in smaller numbers today.but in jimi hendrix,s famous words i wanna see & hear everything also you can get a 120 min tape or a 90 min tape for longer recording time great post peace..
alas , if I had have purchased 1000 empty cassetes at that time.
Today they are not easily available and if available then are too expensive
@@pappurajpagare1153 type 1 are pretty cheap look on ebay there are 3 or 4 makes last time i looked.its type 2 that are dearer & worse most of the time great post peace...
Hey, man. Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to show us, musicians, that there will always be an alternative to the madness of consumerism in this industry and, that music has to be always the main goal, the first thing to worry about. Have you guys noticed how the prices on these analog, "ancient" machines are going up each passing day? Thanks again, man. It was because you that I got my 424 and I love it! 😉
Yeah, the prices are insane. I got mine for $50 locally a few years back. I guess there's a demand for these units and the sound and experience of recording to them; I think a lot of people would be better served using these to at least learn and figure out what's important and how to make a simple song with the limitations. It's definitely informed all of my recording skills in the digital world. Yeah, it's crazy to me how many people don't really make music but just get caught up buying gear: I think we all have a friend like this. GAS is real and something to keep in check; pretty much any time I want to buy something or go searching, it just means I want to make some music. Happy recording and thanks for watching, JAC!
@@424Recording: Sure, man. I also have been a victim of that syndrome. It's sad and it really takes a toll on your finances. I have more stuff than I can actually use because, I have to work long hours to feed my family and to pay for all those goodies. But, thanks to you and an old book I bought many years ago, I'm getting back into making music, truly, and using effectively my stuff, resisting the temptation of getting more trash, (which is definitely the future for every piece of electronic, hardware and, of course, softwares that you buy nowadays) and using my DAW and the rest of my stuff as mere tools which, it's what they are supposed to be.
Thanks again and, stay safe in these difficult days, my friend.
Yup, that's one thing about all of this stuff and about finances in general: waste not, want not. The less stuff you can buy or be okay with not buying, ultimately the better off you'll be, at least I've found this in my life. What book is it? That sounds like exactly the subject matter of an eBook I wrote, The Cure for GAS; I need to read that. Yeah, once you realize all this stuff is trash, that concept informs your decisions about what to purchase and why. And like you said, it's all tools as a means to an end. Cheers, JAC. You, too.
@@424Recording: Hi, Mike... Well, about the book I told you about, it's from a guy named David Simons. Its titled "Analog Recording. Using analog gear in today's home studio". I really enjoyed it and I took some very valuable tips from him and it also has some very informative interviews with engineers from the old school. Very nice.
All right, awesome! I will have to check this out out. Thanks, JAC!
You are a saviour to the legion of quarantinos who have recently ordered or re-visited this device in our isolation chambers. This video is exactly what I needed. Thanks so much!
Glad I could help. 424 savior?! Haha that's hilarious. Just doing my thing and it's really my pleasure. And thanks for becoming a patron! Happy to help and happy recording! Let me know if you have any questions, Nick!
All time classic vid. I will be absorbing the knowledge you have bestowed upon us for years to come. Thank you Michael.
My pleasure, Jason. LOL I'm glad to hear. This one took a long time to do; I hope you and others get a lot of mileage out of it! Cheers, buddy!
I use mine for demos, but it takes roughly a year to write all the material and by the time that's done and I want to record to my 424 or 488 I totally forget everything and end up screwing up my demo, and have to rerecord twice just to relearn the dang machine. This tutorial is gold and something I'll have to come back to refer to. Thanks!
Best tutorial available. Everything became clear when you said the Pan knob has a different functionality when recording! Thank you so much!!!! -Great song too :)
Thank you for taking the time to explain what is usually assumed to be common knowledge. This is the first time I really understood the mixer / tape / direct / buss situation.
Glad it was helpful, William. It took a long time to wrap my head around it! I'm hoping to make a dedicated panning and bussing video soon running thru some more examples. That is definitely the most confusing part about this machine! Cheers and thanks for watching!
Just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! Just got my first ever tape recorder (424 MKIII) and absolutely loving it. Your videos have been my bible ever since I got it. Thank you again man, also loving this track, Pinback vibes??
Got my “Be Cool Cowboy” cassette rolling in the minivan 🚐 ! Love it!
awesome video took me right back this did. I've just won one of these mk3's on eBay, almost brand new, been in original box since 2001, drying to get it now. Love this old school audio gear i do, takes me right back. learnt loads from your video, ready to tackle this now :-) cheers for this :-)
Perfect timing : the video lasts exactly the time of my son's nap and i just bought a 424 MKIII, perfect tutorial ! That guitar solo got me ! Thank you
Perfect! Thanks, Yannick. My pleasure. Enjoy!
Thanks for this epic tutorial. I bought a 424 mk iii last month and am now getting around to learning it. It was a bit overwhelming at first but now am getting it thanks to your videos.
Great to hear, Brett. It seems like this video was perfecting timing for a lot of people. I'm glad to hear it demystified the 424 for you! Happy recording!
This is great Mike! Thanks for making this in-depth tut!!
My pleasure, kerry! Thanks for all of your support!
Thank you so much for this! I just got my first 4 track recorder and this helps a lot!
You explain everything very well. Thank you very much!!
One of the best of the best I could watch, and thank you for a lot of work including the real sound we could experience, super.
Glad you enjoyed it, gtelefon. There was a lot of moving pieces in this video! Took a long time to put them altogether. I wish I had recorded the tape cue. Next time! Thanks for watching!
I just got one of these bad boys a few days ago and this tutorial couldn't have come at a better time. Ur a god
Thanks, Sean! I'm glad to hear the tutorial is helping!
The guided by voices trick is more useful when you're recording on type 1 cassettes like they were. It's really just a roundabout version of Dolby C or similar analog noise reduction.
Cool! I did not know that
Perfect content at the perfect time. The eBay 424 is here, and man, pristine. Thanks for this content!
My pleasure! I'm glad the timing is right. Happy recording, Karmic. Let me know if you have any questions
Ive got boxes of analog 4 & 8 track recordings ive recorded for all my ba ds ive jammed with over the years & now im trying the stem separation technology to remix certain old live & demo or rehearsal tapes that cant be cleaned up on the analog tape recorder & am going to revive & properly mix the seperated tracks & mix & master on my digital 16 track recorder & have new old music to enjoy & possibly release!! Its quite the amazing technology for old music!!😊
very chill dude. talented and knowledgable. good vibes man. song sounds great. could definitely hear it played on a radio station.
🙌
Great explanation of the routing. Thanks for the vid.
You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful. And thanks for becoming a patron!
I like how you simplified this
Great suff mate. I'm just trying to get up to speed with my 424. This helped enormously. Thanks mate.
Just picked one of these up at a flea market, 30$! Excitedly learn how to use this, thanks for your help
I'm glad I could help! That's a great deal. Happy recording!
Been using these videos for years
Very good tutorial! Im excited to learn mine
GREAT video dude. Loved watching it. Mesmerising to see someone else's 4 track recording process. Also, I LOVE GBV
Awesome just bought this recorder u did a great job on the lesson
Great tutorial, thanks.
You're a sweetheart for doing this. THANK YOU
My pleasure. Thanks for watching. I hope it helps!
Thank you sir.
Love this. Thanks for the great video and what a cool song.
That song really took me back to a place i remember well from my past. Thank you so much for sharing your song Mike. Kind regards. Paul.
Glad you enjoyed it, Paul. And I'm glad to aid you in your time travel!
Mike, you have no idea just how much it warmed my heart as I listened to the lyrics of your song the mental trip was also amazing. Kind regards. Paul.
Cheers, Paul! That's awesome!
Hi mike I thought I would share this repair video with you if an old but little gem I bought from eBay.

This is awesome, thank you so much for the time and effort. Cool track!
Thanks for the tutorial. I’m going to try the pitch control and Guided by Voices tricks. Also, very cool song!
Have fun! Thanks, Tim!
Although it was an about the music that I recorded because I really didn’t care for it however it was extremely helpful even though I have a 414 MK to digital Tascam wich is also pretty damn old… this helped tremendously as I am starting a new home studio system with a Lotta new stuff and a Lotta all stuff that was given to me for free. Help me summarize in my hand the inns and outs of recording properly. Nice going, really loved listening to this and The explanations were very understandable even for brain fog person like me at 55. So thank you very much brother, God bless you and yours on this Christmas and holiday and new year.
you’re a king, man
Thanks, journey!
Hey, I really LOVE your channel. I totally like the way you think about recording. You gave me some super helpful tips since I discovered your channel, and motivated me to keep going with what I love doing! Thank you very much man. I currently “just“ own a fostex h28, but I think the Tipps will come in handy, at least when I got my tascam 424 ;) keep doing what you do man!
Thank you so much, DoctorDoctor. I'm glad it's helpful to you and you're finding the value in all the vids and philosophies! My pleasure. Cool! I've never used the Fostex machines; maybe one of these days. Yeah, I think a lot of this stuff is universal. I will! Make sure you do something you want to do today!
Hey man, thanks so much for making these videos, gonna check this big one out today!
My pleasure. Hope you enjoy it! Figured it'd be a good one for these quarantined days
I have a cassette briefcase from the 80s.
I think that's all the justification I need to buy a Tescam 424
Amazing tutorial man thank you
Happy to help!
I really like the song you laid down btw
I can't remember the last time I commented on anything. I just want to say thank you for all this fantastic information and you seem like a really cool dude. Take care
great song, just picked one of these up, it was very helpful
Awesome! I'm glad it was helpful, Troy!
Just fixed my 424 today. Gears were stuck - waited 5 years to unscrew the thing and tap the gear back in place. Just watched this entire demo. Damn, man what an epic demo! The song is great too. So impressed with what you’ve done here. This was a gift! Would love to hear the song in its final state. Bandcamp? Thank you for putting the work in on this. Huge help!
My pleasure, Kevin! I'm glad to hear the video was helpful and I'm glad to hear you've gotten your 424 working again. I have the track up on my Patreon. I'll probably be putting it out some time this fall/winter though. I've got some ideas for another version, too. Thanks for watching and happy recording!
Great tutorial as always
Thanks for watching, Ira!
Mike, thank you for this.
My pleasure, Dewie. Thanks for watching!
Thank you
My pleasure.Thanks, Brace
I sure miss this channel popping up on my feed. Wish you would come back.
I bought this in 1999 to replace my aging 144. The 424mkIII was the best cassette 4 track I ever owned. They don’t make my old Maxell XLII 60 anymore which is too bad
excellent
This is amazing, thank you so much! I just joined your Patreon page. I encourage anyone else out there to throw this cool dude some support through that page, it's easy to do.
Wow, thank you, William! And thanks for becoming a Patron! Haha and thanks for plugging the Patreon! Cheers!
Awesome video. Well done.
Thank you very much, Jon. Glad you dug it
Thanks! Great Tutorial! 👍🏼
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
I've played around with these a lot over the years but never got beyond one for one direct recording. Recently got hold of one to own myself - this is a really handy guide!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! ❤
You're so welcome, Khai! My pleasure!
THAT SONG IS SOOOO FIRE!
Thanks, Peter! I'm hoping to put it out soon. Thanks for watching!
Great vid, very chill and informative! I'd get one of these but man, they're getting expensive.
Thanks for watching, Dustin! Yeah, the prices are out of control. Keep an eye out for one locally. They still pop up from time to time at a reasonable price
Fantastic tutorial, my man!
Much appreciated! JPD what is up?! Haven't seen you in a long time!! Hope you been well!
I'm well, my friend. Been social distancing for about a year now is all 😆
Stay safe.
Haha glad to hear. Yeah, this is my natural mode of living so I'm set
You're the man mike!
Thanks, James!
Great video dude
Glad you enjoyed it, Shrimpy. Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed this! My assistant was watching some of it ... she's absorbing these ideas so she can help me make my recordings ... :D She doesn't know it yet ... mwahahahahaaaaa!
She is not a native English speaker and yet she found your exposition easy to follow, and also uncluttered.
That's awesome, David! That's a huge compliment, thanks! It's the culmination of 3+ years of making vids on CZcams. I'm glad to hear I'm improving. Cheers, happy recording, and thanks for watching!
@@424Recording Just the truth as a snapshot of your skills at the time this went out ... you really do make a good, nicely-paced video on this topic.
As for that topic - the TASCAM Portastudio 424/III - I have to say, man ... I envy the shite out of you! ;) That is one bloody elegant machine. For twenty years, I was using its kid sibling, the TASCAM Portastudio 414 and, I have to say, it served me rather nicely! I'm on a Zoom R-16 now and ... weird as it may sound ... I'm getting agoraphopbic as fuck with it: two decades in Finland on 4-track plus nearly two decades on 4-track in the UK ... then you've 16 to play with - it is a proper mind-fuck!
I went to 8-track for a few sessions. just to get used to the space. Now I'm coping with having 16 tracks to work on.
Keep up the good work, good sir, and vive le portastudio!
I know right?! Anything above 4 tracks always seems so decadent to me now haha. Yeah, I do think the mkiii is the peak of the technology. It combines a lot of the ideas of the predecessors while also giving you some extra room with the size of the unit. Thanks, David, will do! Yeah, vive le portastudio!
@@424Recording
Heh - yeh, it seriously is!
I have to say - looking at my own TASCAM 414, your 424-III looks luxurous! Certainly looks like a very flexible set-up in the mixer section, and I like what you can do with it - seen some of your other videos on here. Really impressive stuff!
And yeh - when I got my pal's Zoom R-16, 16 tracks of space is just sooooooo big! I limited myself to 8 tracks. And that was much more comfortable. Then I branched out into the 16-track world somewhat.
You'll have heard of tthese two people, I'm sure: Glyn Johns and Graham Cochrane.
Glyn Johns practically refuses to work on anything over 16 tracks - he says that is plenty to be going on. Given that he can get a truly wonderful drum sound on three or four mics, I'm right behind him on that! Graham Cochrane, though, is a bit more forgiving - says: 'Limit yourself to 24 tracks maximum!' And GC is working on DAWs! Either way, the take-home is definitely one of 'freedom within limits', isn't it?
Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
This is an awesome video!!
Thank you, Grisi!!
dude this song is really good.
Thanks!
Dude i love your channel!!
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
so much help!!! thank you!
Happy to help! Enjoy, Justice!
Damn dude, you made the pen ultimate four track video. Strong work man, a lot of people are going to learn a lot from this!!
Thanks for that, James! That's exactly what I was hoping to accomplish. I hope so! I hope it saves people a lot of frustration. I had a blast making it. Cheers!
Love it
Thanks! I'm glad you're digging it!
amazing tutorial just got the MkII can't wait to learn all the tricks. also, you sound remarkable like "this old tony" haha
I’ll put in a vote for a punch-in video. I’ve never used the feature either, but it would be good to know how (I’ve tried pressing the buttons and nothing happens heh). Also, maybe something on the effects sends? Maybe a combined “pro/advanced features” tutorial???
Either way, you’re still my favourite channel.
Yeahhh, good ideas, Godof! I need to revisit these topics. I tend to not use either that often but for the sake of a complete features rundown, I think these two are necessary, too! Wow, there's so many channels out there and mind is you fav?! Thanks, Godof!
So good Mike! You are on your way to becoming a LOFI guru for the ages! This is gonna help so any people!
Haha thanks Jody. And thanks for all of your support. It means a lot to me. Lofi guru for the ages?! I'll do my best. I hope it does help a lot of people! Cheers!
I was missing the use of effects during mix down. Anyway, great job as always!
Ahhhh good call. Maybe another "advanced" tutorial is in order. Thanks for watching, Marc!
@12:12 lol. thank you for this tutorial, you are awesome!
Glad it was helpful!
I've used a Tascam Porta II 4-track cassette for years. So much fun recording original songs! I was able to bounce tracks 1,2,3. to track 4 for my rhythm section,
and free up tracks 1 & 2 for double tracking a vocal and use track 3 for a keyboard or another guitar, whatever I wanted! I loved the sound! I now have a 16 track
digital which is fine but, I prefer analog over digital sound... Digital is much to clean or something. Sadly my Porta II broke down and I never bothered to have it fixed. (years ago)
I still have a many of the cassette tapes with my original songs on them. I wish I could find a way to get the songs off the tape without buying a 4 track machine...
A friend gave me his old Tascam 4 track cassette but the tapes play super fast.. like Alvin and the Chipmunks! Maybe its the adapter Im using? Its a player that only uses AC.no batteries.
The 4-tracks record to the tape at a higher speed to reduce noise, so unless you've got a deck that matches that speed (not sure if there are any, tbh) it'll sound like the chipmunks!
I want to thank you ever so much..
This video was insightful and very helpful..
You are much apprciated..hope all is well..stay safe..
I'm glad it was helpful, SAJ! Thanks for watching. I hope you're doing well, too. You, too
@@424Recording I got one question..I been doing some black metal lately on the 4 track and the guitar tone is coming through a little over distorted..I am using a boss ds- 1 and have rolled the tone down..any suggestions to getting a better sound?
@@spacealienjesus709 I would watch the volume. If it's coming in too hot, make sure the meters are hitting at about 0db. Mine always seems to overestimate the volume. You could even try recording lower than that. Dial in the tone you want on the pedal, and then figure out the gain on the 4-track
Hi Mike - I really enjoyed this thanks! I love how you took the time to walk us through the song E2E and learn how you use the Tascam. The 424 is perfect format for your music! The tutorial is such a tease! Does the snare sound better on right or left bus? Guess what! It's all getting ping ponged to track 4 along with the rhythm guitar and where the song ends up that makes perfect sense! Your workflow is different to mine (I mostly record direct, not thru the bus) but what you do makes sense, especially using aux 2 for monitoring. This video is for the 4-track nerds and I was all but reaching through the monitor trying to tweak the mix! I obsess over mixdown, particularly adding effects so is refreshing for me to really see how someone else uses the same equipment as me, but so differently, and ending up with a great result!
Hahaha thanks, Peter. I wanted to show as much as possible about the topics that confuse people the most, even if it meant winding up with a mono ping pong bounce of the first three tracks! I keep it simple out of laziness and also because I think it serves the music I'm making. Maybe a vid on recording only direct is in order. That sounds like a good one to illustrate that concept. The aux 2 monitor is super important IMO; I've accidentally recorded tracks on tracks and doubled things up before. There's no going back after that. That's awesome, re: reaching thru the monitor. That's one thing that I need to experiment with more: adding effects and using effect 1. I've never found the urge to do so. Again, out of laziness, I spend a lot of time getting the sounds right before I record them, so there's as little mixing left to do as possible, mostly just leveling. It would be great to experiment with some new techniques, though. Cheers, Peter and thanks for watching!
@@424Recording Hey Mike! Boy do I have a part 2 video suggestion for you! You mention you need to experiment more with AUX 1 effects. We have some common equipment; not only do I have a Tascam 424, but I also have Keeley Electronics 30MS Double Tracker, which I got on the strength of your product reviews. So on your song where you have vocal double tracked on track 1 and 3. You could demo the 30MS double tracker by showing it doubling your vocal from track 1 and that opens up the door for you to add some other overdub on track 3. The 30MS is a great option to open up the track count by giving a double tracked voicing without having to print across 2 tracks. I'm on your discord (Kegs Cosmic) and I'll hit you up with some detail on how I use the 30MS and get quite a good faux double track vocal. It's not the same, but is a solid option when you are coming up to your last overdub on a 4 track!
@@peterkiefel9064 Oh hey Kegs! This sounds amazing. I'm definitely up for doing this and I'll add it to the list. I want to do some sort of follow up to this, exploring some other, more advanced concepts. Oh, that's awesome that you grabbed the 30MS! That was recommended to me by another 4-track nerd for that exact purpose! I'm glad you took it to the next natural conclusion. I need to think about a song to record like this. But yeah, hit me up in the Discord and we'll chat!

You're welcome!
Hey Mike, thank you so much for sharing this video. On this song you remind me very much of Gerry Rafferty with the double vocals technique. I love your song because it sounds so easy to listen to and very clean with no noticeable noise floor whatsoever. You made an old guy very happy dear friend. Kindest regards. Paul.
Wow, thank you, Paul. I'm glad you're digging the track and the recording. I'll have to check out Gerry Rafferty. I have never listened before. Thanks for the feedback. Hoping to make more tracks like this in the future! I love me some double vocals!
Mike your just great. Yeah Gerry Rafferty had hits in the 1970's with songs like Baker Street, and Stuck In The Middle With You. He lived just along the road from me.
Thanks, Paul. Ohhhh I know Stealers Wheel! I love the story behind that song. Heck, yeah! Wow, that's so cool. Small world! Did you ever jam with him?
Hi Mike, sadly I didn't have the opportunity to jam with the man. But we both lived in a housing estate called Ferguslie Park in Paisley west Scotland. Stealers wheel made an album called Ferguslie Park. Also the Scottish comedian Billy Connolly was in a band with Gerry called the humble bums.
Ah bummer. That's awesome. I'll check that one out. Man, so many connections!
unfortunately im way too broke for this.. just wired up a passive volume mixer thing with some input jacks & potentiometers and hooked it to my tape deck haha
loved the video anyways, i love to learn more about tape recording!
That sounds awesome! Whatever gets you there, Sally. Happy recording and thanks for watching!
Sally yo man could you tell me what it is you use? i want to start recording some stuff and i figured tape is the cheapest option considering the only other option would be spending at least a grand on a PC
@@riancleland8741 Im using a Sony LBT-V302 double tape deck. If youre looking for good gear, get a deck from the late 80s to mid 90s since that was the golden cassette age. In most cases, used cassette decks are doing pretty fine if you clean the tone head. Make sure that the deck has a Dolby Noise Reduction function (NR) for a cleaner sound.
Your song is very good! You've really nailed that style.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

Haha it's all good, it's a long video. There's a couple mixes at the end. Thanks! I'm working on a new album and this will definitely be on it!
Nice Refresher coarse, Mike! Now I can see if I missed anything as to what I do on mine. Watched most of your other vids when you first starting do these! Thanks again Pal! Also, Glad you put that smiley face sticker on your recorder because I was in a low mood today! Thanks again! And I think I asked you this long ago, the MK III is pretty similar to the MK II, which I have right, except for the extra 2 tracks you have, right?
Awesome, thank you, JPC! It's good to hear from you. I hope it clears up any unanswered questions you have. My pleasure. I'm just glad some of my specific knowledge can help other people do their thing. The smiley face sticker is Matt's! He sent this 4-track to the channel a few years ago. That's his trademark. I hear you, JPC. I think you can see it in my face in this one. Keep going. Try to stay positive. Make sure you do something you want to do, now more than ever. Yeah. They are very similar. I used to have that model as well. I think the main differences are what you said about the extra tracks and the fact that the PSU is hardwired. Oh, yeah, you also have better XLR jack placement IMO! Cheers!
autopunch is with a pedal :) on the backsize you an connect it :)
i love you mike thank you
Haha thanks, Sam! Happy recording. I hope it helps!
Very nice, new subscriber here! I had a Fostex XR-7 in the 90's and thinking about going Dawless again. A 424+SM57 maybe. I love the song as well. Regards from Spain!
Thanks for the sub! That's cool, re: Fostex. I've always wanted to check one of those out. Do it up! We're all for that around here 🙌 Thanks for watching and listening! Happy recording!
Yo i really like your Video dude :)
Thank you !
Your musics cool dude
Excellent video. This Tascam is quite capable for a 4-track. Would you say it’s the best on the market?

I'm doing well, man. I live for these Spartan days. Finally my personality and character traits seem to match the state of the world. Cheers, bud!
Thanks for making this , Mike !! Hey , remember those "NAC 799 Studio Master Cassettes" ? One sold on eBay for $15 on Feb 9th . Do you still have a stash ? CRAZY !
My pleasure, J-man. Yeah, I've got a stash of them I've been saving up. That's wild! I think I'll be holding onto mine. They need to last for a while! It's good to know though if I need to buy some groceries soon!
Bought one of these when they came out originally, got me into recording, still have it, still works perfect, have transferred all the things i recorded to computer, so doesn’t get used much now, was considering selling it
I have one that I bought 20 years ago. haven't used it for years & have a bunch of tapes that I'd like to finish. 2 things though: Ny unit doesn't have the equalizer & effects buttons on 5/6 & 7/8, and, the fader has a short on the 4th track. If you're considering selling yours, please hit me at dawk110@gmail.com, so we can discuss a selling & shipping price. I'd really appreciate it. Also, need the manual if u still have it. Thanks.
