- This has to be the earliest video recording of Jamiroquai with Simon Bartholomew on guitar, Nick Tydeman on bass and PJ Harvey on percussions, before Gavin Dodds, Stu Zender and Maurizio Ravallico would have joined, Nick Van Gelder, Toby Smith and Wallis are already on board. Setlist:
1. Sunshine
2. Togetherland
3. Too Young To Die
4. Jazz Carnival (Azymuth cover)
5. When You Gonna Learn
Special thanks to Nick Tydeman for this fantastic share! - Hudba
This is amazing! Jamiroquai have had top musicians from day one and Jay is undoubtedly one of the most underrated front men and composers of the last 30 years. I hope we can one day see some uncovered footage of the bands early song writing sessions.
It's a pleasure to see an early rare video of Jamiroquai. I'm always happy when i discover, hear and watch something i didn't know from Jamiroquai. Thanks for posting...
Same :)
Same here!
Would LOVE if the band brought back some jazz flute and featured it a bit more prominently like they used to.
its 2 am and i should be in bed. yet i find myself [again] listening to jamiroquai, getting goosebumps [ after all these years] and just wishing i was there.; such an amazing band. i will love them until i die. always been the band i listen to, no matter what the mood im in. just fucking BEAUTIFUL X
my favorite male band of all-time Jay is a vocal beast 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nick van Gelder uploaded this TYTD version about 2 years ago - it's a lot cleaner, but it's nice to see the whole gig. He might've more recordings from this session, I wouldn't know.
Jamiroquai - Too Young To Die Live 1992
Nunca decepciona Jamiroquai. Qué banda, qué música 💜
Jamiroquai are my life music cercia 1992 - 2002 ❤️🌈🇬🇧🇯🇲
RIP and respect Nick Tydeman the original bassist with Jamiroquai who recently passed away.
heard about this last night at Ronnie Scots
Nick "Tydeman ? he used to sit in on "some" jams sessions, usually "only" for 5 mins at the end of shows, laying out some low key pro chops in front of us, as "Street Bass Payers" just before jamiroquai formed as a band outright
the now "infamous" jams sessions had about 5 to 6 plus regular bass players
i was one of them, Nick Tydeman & "Nico" who replaced zender, others i will not name
i will always remember (picture) Nick Tydeman as the guy with the pro fender bass & sound
to Nick Tydeman & the guys , stay funky R.I.P

This is how we remember them
Derrick Mackenzie isn’t the drummer and Simon from Brand New Heavies on bass..Mind Blown🤯😀❤️
Simon from The BNH looks so young jeez. And JK is so filled with energy
Rare vid indeed since JK isn't wearing any Adidas stuff xD
Not even his shoes... wow! Rare indeed! ;)
@@stillnessintime to be fair they look like Puma States, A similar style to the Gazelles he wore a lot, a part of his style which seems like it didn't change so much when he hit it big, the same can't be said of the band though, were they all replaced?
He was too poor at that time to afford Adidas 😂
I finally found the first ever concert of my favorite band
YES!
Hands down my favorite band! I mean what other band uses a jazz flute in one song and a didgeridoo in another all while being so funky across all songs?
Stu didnt write the "too young to die and When you gonna learn " basslines ?!
Damn !!!
That s a breaking news !!!
Thankx for the vid .
The more I learn about this band. It seem like Stu didn’t write as much as i thought either. Apparently jk did most of the bass lines.
Who knows how many songs are still hold secret to us :-O I'm asking why Jay Kay did not release this tracks in the past albums...but he's still in time to do it :-)
Best version 🎸🔊 relic
Amazing! thanks for posting this video! :)
Rare..wowww
❤❤❤❤
gran registro! maravilloso poder toparse con esto :) jay kay un niño bello y talentoso desde siempre woW
God I miss those days of the Jazz Cafe, musically the happiest days of my life, STFU on the pillar, and Jamiroquai was right in the middle of it!
Is it just me who despises the new look Jazz Cafe?
I wish Jamiroquai would look after fans, like me, who have been there since the beginning and would like to see them again in London (which they don't seem to do anymore)
los temas son de el, señores el es el geniO :)
Amazing back than there new stuff blows
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Thanks for this amazing video!!!!
La leyenda JAMIROQUAI ❤
Thank you!!
The best!!!
WHOA!!!! Amazing footage, does he have a setlist for this gig? Some of these songs sound like 'covers'...in any case GREAT resyncing job Zsolt...much appreciated!
Increíble
Tan bello jay kay jovencito y que vozz my good porque tuve que ser tan chica ahí me lo hubiera leventado jejeje
For me the significance of the video is to see how much the band and sound evolved after finding Stu and Gavin Dodds... I just watched Club Citta, listened to Firenze'93 and the difference is significant, I guess partially due to the stage routine the band gained but this line-up is like a school-band compared to what they were a year later (again, withount the intent of hurting Simon or Nick Tydeman)!
Zsolt Horváth What???
do you wanna overestimate later musicians for good recording environment
"When you gonna learn" bass line was already the same. Before Zender.
As far as I know, Toby Smith composed the bassline. Just remember that song was released as a demo before.
zender nisiquiera estaba aun
According to Wikipedia Andrew Levy, bassist of brand new heavies, write the baseline to that song.
Togetherland is such a great song. Is there a studio version of the song ?
is there anyway to get the audio of this perfomance in better quality? anyone please? :)
Are "Sunshine" and "Togetherland" original Jamiroquai tunes?
🙄Vaya Stuart Zender no existía aún en la banda , jay kay era muy joven casi un niño que bello y talentosa banda
Nicky this for you .
Thanks for posting!! Does anyone know if the songs sunshine and togetherland are original songs by JK or are they covers???? Very much appreciated, if anyone knows!!!!
Original, early JMQ songs
sounds a little like Light of The World "Dancing & Swinging" ? slowed down with Roy Ayres give me the sunshine vocals ,, 2nd is like a Mongo Santamaria latin jazz funk tune 3rd song sounds like incognito ? 4th is definitely 100% jazz carnival by azymuth ,massive 70s dance track etc etc , all very very typical of the north london circuit with Dingwalls as king The Jazz cafe was merely Dingwalls mk2 & cafe "WKD" mk3 back then
i remember the bass player who tuned up once or twice at other jam sessions where i sometimes used to host .. very cool very relaxed he did some slapping which was also cool but slightly generic , never seen this clip before
they guy who stands out for me in this gig is the saxophone flute player with toby smith
DJ D-ZIRE????
He's on the keyboards i guess...
Guys
Is the first song a cover? Can’t find it from their album
妹尾拡樹 Nope, it’s an early unreleased song called Sunshine
