I've been a fan of Morissette ever since first meeting her and seeing her perform live in Manila at a Christmas party that her manager David Cosico invited me to about 12 years ago. It's been a pleasure watching her rise to stardom and enjoying her performance from afar. I've never done a reaction video before, but I enjoyed doing the first one so much once I found out "Phoenix" is Mori's original song I decided it would be fun to listen through and react to her ENTIRE new "Signature" EP of original songs.

What a versatile singer, she can slay any genres.
Asia's Phoenix is kicking it up as an entertainer: co writing, singing, acting and more live stage performances. This Signature EP release demonstrates her versatility and creativity. Several of the songs are doing very well on a number of charts and music services. This release may put Morissette on the map with US and Western music/entertainment producers as well as music fans. Thank you for your reaction/commentary and also for your contribution to the Filipino music industry.

Definitely got to listen to the first song on the EP "Love you still" on the Wish 107.5 live performance. The music video is incredible too but Morissette live is just something else. BTW, it's about her relationship with her father.

I heard the same about her voice could have been in the foreground during the guitar solo. I guess it was an artistic decision. Either way I would love it as she is an amazing singer performer.
Funny how you said you wished her voice disappeared during the guitar solo coz Danielle a vocal coach wanted her voice louder just a tad coz she liked what she was dishing out. To each his own I guess. Pls check out the rest of her original from the EP album. Thanks 🤙🏽
Yeah, I'm a guitar player, so that probably influences that decision ;) ...all personal taste of course. Still sounds great even as is :)

I truly believe (through my exhaustive research) that Miss Morissette Amon(ster) is the Greatest Female Pop Singer Alive and the Greatest Female Pop Singer of her Generation. Whenever I hear Miss Morissette sing I know that I am in the presence of Greatness.
With all due respect to Miss Morissette and her husband, Mr. David Lamar, I find it absolutely impossible NOT to fall in love with her. You can interpret that any way you want.

Please react to Love You Still :) When it was first released I liked it but I didn’t love it initially. But since watch Morissette perform it recently on the Wish Bus and learning the back story behind the song, it is now on heavy rotation on my playlists! Her vocals and emotions were on full display in the Wish Bus version.

@@DavidDiMuzio David you also commented on the Phoenix reaction that Morissette’s voice seems to come from within (or something like that) and I totally agree. Her singing is as natural to her as breathing. For someone who isn’t formally trained her singing is truly breathtaking and a joy to watch.

By the way, I still remember your duet with Jewel Villaflores with the Cebuano/Bisaya song "Duyog". It's still in my music library and play it every time I long to hear modern sounding Cebuano music.

It wasn't intentional. I will get it fixed. Sorry about that. And yes, I'm always involved in Filipino music, but sometimes have just been more in the background managing and producing.
I also agree with the guitar solo thing and this is also my fave song of the EP.

Thank you for your honest reaction .. in the moment you speak about „maybe oversinging“ is exactly what I feel about the third repetition of that phrase .. so for me, this is not the favorite of her EP Signature .. but on the other hand this is a song which grows with listening, what to my experience is not uncommon for Morissette. I like you statements and the way you express your thinking.

@@yoojin3877 I actually don't think it was over-singing at the spot I mentioned it ..I said I think 'Some people might say it's over-singing, but I like it" ...I do think (personally) that it would've sounded better if the vocals drop out for at least part of the guitar solo though. Just my personal taste. The production and arrangement is incredible regardless :)

Thank you for sharing this. I also feel like this is perhaps my favourite track on her ep, but I was definitely expecting a guitar solo near the end. Nothing to do with Mori's voice, just a giving it a different dynamic and break in the storytelling. Still a wonderful song nonetheless :-)

I agree completely. I love listening to Morissette because she makes0 everything she sings sound good. That said, outside of her covers there isn't anything that I think stands out for her as a great song, only great vehicles for her voice. That's the problem with making everything a studio piece and not having anyone to stand up for the music.
Every song she's done I hear a great place you could put some beautiful guitar playing that would help the song become greater and expand it to a wider audience but it's always used for her to showcase her skills. That's fine but it's limiting. She would be better off putting together a group of quality musicians that she respects and them touring and writing songs and tweaking them based on the audience reaction until they had something ready to record instead of going into the studio and trying to write.

It is an old song, with out the whistle no one would have paid heed to the song. The Morissette of today is way better in all aspects of her music than she used to be when she sung akin ka na lang on the bus. She has grown so much as an artist that her past is just water under the bridge.

Xergio Ramos is the musical producer and arranged and mixed the EP and is the one doing the guitar solo towards the end. It’s a closed door, but I do need to figure out how to get it to stop adjusting.
Interestingly, another vocal coach commented that she would've like Mori's vocals to not have been so tuned out and the guitar too loud 🤷♂️
