- In this episode we dive into all the mods that I have done to the C5 Z06 and breakdown the total cost. I also hint at what is to come in the future. Enjoy.
Spent $8k for my 1998, and another $10k getting everything sorted/updated/upgraded. 400whp LS6 intake-cam-headers-tune, ported/milled 243 heads, c6 z51 brakes, z06 suspension, c7 wheels, Alpine touchscreen/amp/speakers (Bose delete), Corbeau seats. Added HUD and 3.42 diff from a newer c5. Lots of little stuff like LED lights everywhere, 4-high headlight harness, diff brace, interior insulation kit, offroad x-pipe, BB catback, z06 rear brake vents, Spoilerking wickerbill spoiler, ceramic coat, the list goes on and on. Worth it.
I had my wheels powder coated and they look amazing! Really holding up well too. Roughly $100 a wheel. Your car looks fantastic! Love all the personal touches. Oh yeah, the BB PRT completely changed my car. Thanks for helping me decide on that exhaust! The garage and videos look great. We are staying tuned, bro.
Grab a new set of shocks for the truck lid- will pop up like brand new AND hold it up. Mine would fall down with a light breeze, the spring does nothing to address that problem.

Bought my car new back in 02. A few years back I took my window sticker to Office Depot made a copy, cut the center out and made what I call my "Side Sticker." I listed all my 'Add On's," headers, brakes and all the misc with the "Price." The total of mine was $6900.00

Also where can I have those white led”s installed I bought the whole white led kit for my c5 and I took it to 2 mechanics where they say supposedly they can’t put them on and when they did that it didn’t hold enough charge or something so they took it off and put the stock ones that are out either way the yellow ones

Any ideas of what I should do with my C5Z? Stupid oil pan gasket is a nonstop problem. Had it replaced at a local shop back in April, still leak(seeped) some so they redid it under warranty in June. Still seeped oil so I reached out to them one more time and they did it again in November. We used ARP bolts for the pan and it seemed to help, but i just noticed the slightest bit of oil seepage again now...Its just a never ending issue that I guess I just need to live with it. Doesn't actually leak any on the ground, you can just get a wiff of it when you come to a stop and its hot. im also very particular so it bothers me lol..

How was doing the master cylinder yourself? I’ve heard it’s a real pain to do the job but mine is going to need one soon.
It's a pain because of the location and you are upside down in the foot well. Not necessarily hard.. just annoying.

Believe it or not nope. However, I use gate 22 95% of the time.
how bad was the paint difference when you removed the side molding's......
I have a 2004 C5 torch red .... that i would love to remove them from...... but im scared ......
Not noticeable at all and the paint was 20 years old at the time. 👍👍
how much did you pickup the car for? do you ever see yourself selling it down the line?
I paid $15.5k for it pre-COVID days. Not at the moment. Once it's finally done I may replace it with a C6 Grand Sport to do a new build. But that's not anytime soon.

ahe those 6 piston calipers on the front. if so , those are not stock C5.
4 piston upfront (running 18s upfront). I was going to go 6 piston (hence why I put 18s up front) but decided the 4 piston was more than enough.

Headlights and touch screen are 👍. Hood vents and rear diffuser are 🤮
Best mod: double din head unit. Worst mod: diffuser. Cheesiest mod: C8 Z06 badging. IMHO of course.

everything is nice minus the hood.
Believe it or not this was not so much an aesthetic mod, but a functional mod. 10-12 degree decrease in oil & coolant temps & noticeably improved down force. The hood with the bottom feeder design acts as a parachute. Also, seeing heat escape from the hood is awesome.
