Sadly the community has been voicing their displeasure with Case for the last 7+ years that has fallen on corporate deaf ears. Poor quality assurance, poor value for money, shrinking annual pattern production, the list goes on. Not even properly representing themselves at such a large and popular annual knife event may be an indicator of their future.
I couldn't agree with you more. I have pretty much stopped buying new knives from Case, and am only buying stuff from the 70s back. I was really impressed with the way CJ Buck conversated with Kevin the Knife Doctor, and signed a bunch of items for him. I'll be going to the Buck event at Shepherd Hills (Lenanon, MO) this Saturday, and will hopefully get to chat with CJ myself.
I absolutely agree. They could have easily said show me a case knife and you get a knife. It's not that hard. I'm sorry brother. I hope you have a wonderful evening
I agree about Case 100%!! My first pocket knife was a 1977 CASE XX SOD BUSTER Black Composition handles from my Dad. I’ve loved Case ever since. Absolutely love the old stuff 1980’s and older especially!! This new stuff has issues. Love Buck, talked with Mr. CJ himself. Signed 3 signs for my new knife shop. Loved the excitement over at Buck. Case was TERRIBLE. They didn’t have stickers the first day. No customer service. I’m not buying another new case knife unless I’m able to inspect it myself. Thanks for this video and I hope to meet you soon! I’m sending you a sticker!!
I know I was harsh, but customer service is a big deal to me, and the Case booth has Been that way for a couple of Blade shows! Stickers aren’t that big of a deal, but knife people like them…and it’s a small investment for loyal customers…I’ll send you a couple of stickers
Hey brother, i am glad you got the sticker!! I will send more when i get more for sure! Awesome that you got to spend some time with the boys! Thanks for sharing the stories! God Bless brother!
Hi Randy, I'm so glad you got to meet more of the brotherhood! Sounds like you had a good time despite some of the frustrations with Case. Not sure what's going on there.. big difference since Ossian, IN event.. heard several talk about it. Appreciate you my friend!
Glad you had a good time sir. Hopefully Case turns it around, as they are an icon as you said. But they know that so that could be why they don’t think they need to put anything extra in to it . Would be hard to find another successful company with as long as a leash as case.
Glad you had a good weekend and got to meet some of the other cool folks in the community. Yours is not the only bad impression of the Case booth. Seems to be a common take-awy from the weekend. I bet the Rosecraft booth was a very different story. Have a great day!
Thanks for sharing about your experiences at Blade Show, glad to hear you got to meet some of the other CZcamsrs we all know and love. 😊👍 I'm sorry to hear that Case failed to provide good customer service and let down your expectations of them. I only hope things will improve with them in the future. 🙏 Take care my friend and Cheers!
It's truly amazing Case would place such folks in that booth! It's also a shame that stickers were not available. If I had to guess, Case is being run by number crunching accountants or a similar individual that knows zip about Case knives and the folks that support them. Thanks for what you do with your channel. Tony in SC
Great talk brother!! I noticed that when I tried talking to the Rep @ Roachdale. He wouldn't even look at me and just turned his head when i was asking him a question and he acted like i was bothering him when asking to have my passport stamped. Was totally different than the ones @ Ossian last year. I bought my 1st Case knife in the 80's and haven't stopped supporting them, I just don't understand it.
I personally feel that the Case upper and middle management have lost touch with the people that collect their knives. They are probably more worried about getting a bonus than actually taking care of the customers. I have seen this happen to many companies, it's hard for the rank and file to be motivated when the higher ups aren't. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
I was looking for you with your red t-shirt on, but it was almost overwhelming with all the people there. You could have made a million if you had a booth there. I found one(1) booth that was selling slips and sheaths in the whole place. To be honest they weren’t near as nice as your work. Need to get in touch with you to make me some slips for my knives. I’m in Sandy Springs Ga. and am up in Rome occasionally to visit my brother. Would love to buy you a cup of coffee, it seems to get you charged up, and show you what I need. Great video and was straight to the point and so very true . Case needs customer service training. Thank you Sir .
I understand where your coming from brother. I actually had a pleasant experience with them. I was talking to them about my longhouse liner lock failing and they really listened. We must have talked for 20 mins or so. Actually spoke to a head engineer who helped develop the longhouse and he could hear the passion in my voice and he actually pulled me to the side and showed me some confidential knives that they were working on. And after all that they actually let me leave a big stack of stickers on their booths. I thought that was totally awesome. But yea they definitely need to step up the sticker game for sure and be a bit more engaging.
I’m glade you had a good experience with them…this wasn’t the first Blade show they had bad customer service. I’m still a Case guy, so that’s why I want them to do better.
Case has lost touch with their loyal supporters!! Just resting on their laurels from past success. Veru unfortunate and im afraid its gonna eventually bite em in their rear ends!! Ty for sharing Randy. Hopefully i can take part in 25!!?? 👍👊🙏💯🇺🇸🔪🔥
Glad you got meet and make new friends. Sorry to hear about your experience with Case. Hopefully they get there stuff together before its too late. Take care friend.
I actually did power line clearance for Asundh tree company so I know how it is with having to interact with upset people 😂. Man I hate to hear that about Case thats mine and many many peoples favorite and not show appreciation to the ones putting food in there mouth is crazy much love brother and God bless
I'm in 100% agreement with you about how customer interaction make a huge difference. I read about Case knives and watch CZcams videos about Case knives every day. I would work that Case Booth for a hotel room and Hot Dog money.
Your rant is completely justified. I noticed the lack of enthusiasm and ambition at Roachdale. It seemed the hardware store employees were happier to see us than the Case representatives were. And stepping back and looking at the whole situation; perhaps the representatives attitude and demeanor is reflective of some of the spotty quality we’re seeing from Case. Yesterday BigJ and I were talking about the PB&J knives we ordered from SMKW. He said he HOPES they are good quality and I agreed. Which, to me, is a completely unacceptable point of view or concern. Case has loyal fans, as you said, and we go to these events and we spend money on their products. We shouldn’t have to feel like ORDERING is risky or that we won’t buy their products unless we can see them in hand first!!!! I’m fairly new to collecting Case knives but I’ve had one so far (of the brand new ones I’ve gotten) that probably would have warranted going back. But it’s usable. Others have had some issues but nothing to be too concerned about. I definitely see a huge difference between their newer knives and their vintage ones.
I hear ya. Customer service is a rare thing amongst companies today, and I don't know why. When I was a kid, my folks had a little mom and pop grocery store and I can remember their motto was, "the customer is always right." Because when you're a small fish in a big pond, your voice and your reputation is all you have. I think Case might have gotten too big for their britches. I'm 56 years old and I've never owned a Case knife until I was gifted a Sodbuster Jr. in black delrin about 2 months ago. Since then I've purchased another Soddy in yellow delrin and I was about to buy another one in green, but now I'm not so sure. Anyways, I'm glad you had a good time at Blade Show despite Case being thataway.
Yeah that is a shame with how Case is treating their customers and lack if QC. I live a little over 3hours south west of their Zippo/Case Museum and their manufacturing plant. I haven't gone out to check them out yet. I will admit that i don't own a Case knife, not that i don't want one but because i can't afford them. It's all good though. I am glad you folks had a good time at the show. You and Miss Linda have a wonderful day and week. God bless brother.
Such a shame about the Case booth…, man I wish they’d wake up! I’m curious how the SMKW booth was compared to the case booth because on a recent smkw video with Maury from case he mentioned that the case booth would be managed by SMKW, so I wonder how that worked out.
@@georgia_adventurer I agree. I wish they would become the “American people’s knife brand” again. It seems they’re too worried about being trendy and modern and I feel they’d be way more profitable if they’d just put out a nice high quality slipjoint like they used to be known for.
Sounds like you had a great trip to the Bladeshow! I couldn’t believe how many people were there - wow! Yeah, Case has some real issues with customer service and quality control. Being bad at those two things is a great way to go out of business.
Possibly if enough videos like this are posted throughout the knife community Case will cut out the snobby attitude and get back to what they do best. Without satisfied consumers they are nothing. Thanks for speaking the truth.
Good evening brother Randy. i got Terrys, Pens and Pen Blades and brother Mike at Hunting 4 Hookers in the mail but if you would like to do a sticker swap I would love to trade with ya😅 I just watched Miked video about the Bladeshow. So glad you all got to meet up and had a good time. You was only an hour from me when you was at SMKW. Very cool video Randy and hope you and yours is in good health and God bless ya brother.
Lot's of great stuff up at bladeshow 👍🏼
Yep! I would work the Case booth at Blade Show…no charge

I’ve seen it over the years at the company I retired from…it’s about the next promotion
@@georgia_adventurer Unfortunately that is correct.
