As an Uyghur I would like to let you know and others know that Uyghurs are Turkic people living in North West China. We are not Chinese people, we are ethnically and culturally Turkic. So our food and identity is Turkic like our cousin's in Central Asia.

funny, because Uighur people in Xinjiang consider they are Chinese, not Turkic people; only the separists outside of China called them Turkic people. East Turkistan Movment has been identified as terrorist group by UN, so why you call yourself this name?

Enough with your nonsense! the CIA recruited nobody called Adrian Zenz, Rushan Abbas, Arslan Hidayat to make false accusations. They are the CIA's version of Elliot Higgins aka Bellingcat. Cia found A wierdo anthropologist who teaches his far-right Christian crazy views on aliens creating humans.
The West/Israel/India/EU/Australia created the Uighur problem in Xīnjiāng by sponsoring terrorists there-the same tactics it used in Cuba, Venezuela, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Libya. Faced with the grave challenge of terrorism and extremism, China has undertaken a series of counter-terrorism and deradicalisation measures in Xīnjiāng, including setting up vocational education and training centres and boarding schools.
Uighurs, just like the other 9 Muslim ethnic groups in China, are entirely free to conduct their religion, with active state protection of their culture, and strong Affirmative Action measures which drastically benefits minorities. The vast majority of Uighurs are perfectly happy to be part of China, especially with recent drastic rises in standard of living, employment, and wages. It is only a tiny percentage of extremists in Xīnjiāng with ties to Daesh, funded by the CIA like the Mujahideen, and indoctrinated by Wahhabi extremism, who are agitating for independence and the establishment of “East Turkistan”.

Thanks a lot for sharing. I love Uyghur cuisine, not so much the meat (I prefer it without meat), but the spices (like cumin), the generous amounts of chili and the handmade noodles. Auckland seems to be a really great place to enjoy tasty food from pretty much all over the world.
P.S. thanks for the introduction about Xinjiang

We call Ayran "Dogh" in Uyghurçe :) And for those who don't know, the Uyghurs are not an ethnic minority of China, but their own peoples from Central Asia. Their land is called East Turkistan, and it was occupied by China in 1949. East Turkistan was renamed "Xinjiang" by the Chinese Republic in 1955, which directly translates to "New Territory." Thx for the video tho, I hope people learned something about the Uyghur culture today.
