Hope you enjoy this cover/rewrite of You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift! I was planning out content a few months ago and had just planned on doing a cover of this song because it’s a BOP but if you just read the lyrics without the cute lil melody it’s actually super creepy. In the best way, and so I messaged our resident composer for the channel the GLORIOUS Ben Tomalin, and this creation was made.
It’s giving Yandere, it’s giving love me forever or else, it’s giving if you ever leave me I’ll destroy everything you love and drag you down the aisle and I love it.

To be fair, the *original* always struck me as someone in the friendzone singing about how "I (the singer) deserve you way more than the person you've actually chosen to date", moreso than "yandere". This becomes much more visible to most people if you simply swap the genders while retaining the theme - it lines up better with their preconceptions that way around.
Same applies to "Saved the best for last"

I have always heard this as a yandere song solely because of that title. Like, way to take away the choice from this crush and be possessive. It just needed the nudge that you brought so delightfully. A very good cover, and the minor key was also an unexpected, but good touch

I love this whole "loving nightmare" aesthetic Lydia has going on in all her covers, it really speaks to me.

I love how the background is red and yet the hair is green like its showing the green can mean she plays innocent but in the dark, the red shows how far she'll go until all she sees is red.

As someone with two sisters who love Taylor Swift, this is pretty much what the song has always sounded like to me (tone of the lyrics, I mean).
I love how she doesn't change anything for the first part but it still sounds as stalker as the later parts

I just came up with a good story for this cover:
Main girl has been best friends with the guy next door since childhood. Over the years, she's fallen in love with him. The parents want them together, but at the time he's dating the popular girl in their class.
The popular girl is mean and vindictive and a bully to the main girl. So to hurt her, she acts also mean towards the boy because she feels she has him wrapped around her finger.
Over the years of highschool towards senior year, the main girl grows into a beauty that the popular girl sees as a threat. So one day she hurts the boy to the point where he confides in the main girl of the pain his gf dealt.
Realizing she's had enough, and is running out of patience for him to be at her side instead of his gf's, she goes full yandere mode.
So one day while they're hanging out, the boy gets a call from his gfs parents, telling him they found her dead in her bed. Seemingly dying from natural causes.
So as the boy is crying in the main girl's arms, and how she expressed she's sorry for his loss, inside she feels pure bliss because she feels she's won and the popular girl, who had bullied her and hurt the boy she loves, is finally gone.
So now feels powerful and feels there's no one in the way of her and the boy finally being together.
