What a fantasic historical look into the old sheep herders of yesteryear. My grandfather was born in 1933 Idaho and was raised inthat lifestyle. He was 8 years old and incharge of over 500 head of sheep! I just can't even imagine giving a child that responsibility these days! Different times for sure! 😊
Another very interesting and informative day with the Woo! You have an amazing way of presenting material, with a demeanor that is entertaining while also informative. Keep up the great efforts! Always look forward to your next episode.😊
I took a family Utah vacation too some 20 years ago. The natural beauty of the landscape is stunning. The locusts of gnats reminds me of a road off I-80 going northeast from SLC towards Wyoming. This road is literally covered with crickets both on the ground and in the air. You literally had to drive over the critters and use the wipers to clear them off the windshield. It was wild!
I remember as a girl swimming in the great salt lake. So easy to float. We cupped water in our hands and discovered little orange dots which my dad informed me were brine shrimp! We were horrified to say the least. It is quite a memory.
I remember when I was a little kid going there. Around 1972. Thought floating in the water was so cool. I didn't know what brine shrimp was at the time and my dad explained. I kept some in a glass jar and my dad asked me what I was going to do with them. Said I was going to raise them to make my own fried shrimp. Lol. Hey I was 6 then. Lol. After watching this trip, I would love to go back.
@@CSDonohue11 I was about 12 and I remember the thought of all those tiny fish swimming around my bathing suit made me so nervous. Puberty. Now I’m 70 and look back at it as a fun adventurous time, and I laugh.
Hats off to you Adam for vlogging where no one else would want to go with all those bugs! Yuk!! LOL!! It must be all that salty stuff that attracts them or is a breeding ground. Your sister is adorable. So cool your whole family got into a group picture that was cute. Thanks for the fun adventure!!
Adam the one constant for me in almost all of your videos is the ASMR sounds of walking on gravel like surfaces. Maybe it's just me but it really sticks out in a good way. I know, it's weird but one more thing on a long list of why i love your videos.
ChiTownK, NOT until you stated this, did I realize that I've always liked that same sound ! Ever since I was a child. Just never thought to consider it as an ASMR.
Another great video from The Woo. You have a great family and are very lucky to have such a loving family. The pickup you weren't sure of is a 1949/50 Dodge B Series. It's certainly has seen better days.
I lived in Roy, Utah for 11 years and my go to place for a day of solitude was Antelope Island. I always checked with the ranger station about the bugs though. Once you experience bugs like that you want to go when they are not around! I was surprised when you went to the Fielding-Garr Ranch that you did not tour the old home that was adjacent to the barns. It is really cool. I have been out to the island in all seasons, including New Years' Day several times with the Wasatch Audubon Society doing their Christmas bird count. It was often single digits and lots of snow, but we saw hundreds of birds, herds of antelope, bison, coyotes, and chukars. We even went to the end of that road by the ranch. At the end you can look across the lake and see that giant smokestack near where you were for the vlog about the Saltair building. Since you love trains so much, I hope you go by Ogden's Union Station to see their exhibits and then out to Promontory Point. Check the Internet for when they do the reenactment of the joining of the 2 railroads and lay the golden spike.
Welcome to Utah! My first time at the Fielding Garr ranch was for a ghost hunting expedition. Crazy to be out there in the middle of the night. I am a Box Elder County native. Hope you put the Golden Spike Historic Site, Spiral Jetty and the Ogden and Brigham City archway signs on your to do list. Know you love the neon signs. Also if you come to Ogden you can see all the art horses that are out for the summer for Pioneer Days. They are art pieces similar to the buffalo pieces you encountered. Don’t forget we love to put the initials of some high schools and colleges on the mountainsides.
Majestic View 2:03 . They say It is highly recommend visiting in early spring before Mid-April or late summer after July to avoid the horrific bugs that infest Antelope Island during the spring months . She called the S#!t, Poo 17:02 🤣
Enjoyed your Antelope Island blog. I am going on a National Park bus tour that starts on Saturday. Antelope Island is one of our stops. I had no idea what is was like. Thank you for the preview. Looking forward to stopping there. Enjoy your family!
Eleven years of watching Adam the Woo on CZcams living in Utah. I decide to head to Anaheim for a week, and where does Adam go? He comes back to Utah. 🤔
ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first truck you saw in the barn, the red one was a late 1940s Dodge. The thumb for this video shows the truck and that caught my eye because I used to own a truck just like the one in the video, although mine had a dump body on it. I was just kind of wishing I still had the truck, my yard could need another major sprucing up, which the truck helped a lot with. But alas, I sold it a long time ago. But it was weird that I was just thinking of the truck and saw one almost identical (mine was red too) in your video's thumb.
So great. Sharing Woo vids with fam today, love it. I wonder why silos are cylindrical, and whose job was it to look at a beautiful flower out in the wild and think "Yup, that there's a 'Spreading Fleabane'....'Spreading Fleabane'... write that one down, Leroy! ..." Happy Sunday everyone. :) 👊
Hi Adam I was watching Sunday Morning on CBS they had Jeff Bridges a brief documentary on him, I know you like his work and I do to. Have a super Sunday Adam that wildlife is amazing your showing in the video awesome, stay safe out there. I injoy this video today.👍👍😎
OMG !! The BUGS !! That beings back major memories of Salt Lake for me !! Lol ! At least they weren't Locusts !! Looks like you are enjoying time with the family ! Thanks for taking us along.
Last time I was on Antelope Island my family and bicycle across the 7 mile long causeway. The road was sort of paved. But once you actually were on the island the roads were all dirt. That would be about 35 years ago. Mostly only locals would go out there. We had gone there many times before to look at the bison and have bison burgers at the food truck out there. Easter was a good time to go since there were hardly any bugs. I also remember that it was free to go there. No entry fees back then.
Wow!!! I’m so glad you just showed up in my recommended videos! You just gained another subscriber! I love all things exploring and especially ghost towns! Great video!
Afternoon Adam! Enjoying seeing Utah again after 28 years of being gone from there treasure those times with your family. 💜 PS those bugs are far worse than our Florida Love Bugs. Lol
I love your family💓 And I love this adventure. Now this is my kind of adventure. All those bugs! That's very weird. Thanks so much for sharing Adam. Hugs to your parents and sis and bro. You guys are the best! God bless always 🙏❤️🤗
So glad you are enjoying Utah with your family!!! As I go about my day here in Salt Lake City I am keeping my eye out for you...my personal "Big The Foot" moment might happen?
We were there once, it was wall to wall with Skeeters. A Dumpster had millions of them on it! So many, you could not open the door of the RV after Sundown! Nice view of the Salt.
This is so awesome! You are right in my backyard so to speak! Yes the bugs in the summer can be awful! It’s best to go on a really windy day! In the fall there is spider festival where there are webs everywhere!! Yuck! 😂 you can walk down to the water too! Glad you had a good time! Despite the bugs!
Will you be traveling through Wyoming today ? Last time came through you stopped at the liquor / fireworks store 😂 the river walk is so pretty .. historic depot square .. the state park also has bison and elk
What did the dad buffalo say to his kid when he left for school?
Bison 😉
I believe the Brine shrimp were the sea monkeys you could buy from the back of comic books when we were kids 😎
Your family is so adorable and sweet. Love when you feature your mum and dad, extended members of the "Woo" family.
Today I have much to doo, but first I SHALL join Adam the Woo!!😎
Thanks !
