Welcome to the Deathcore family! Some other good ones are Bodysnatcher, Paleface, Ov Sulfur, Angelmaker, Distant, Carcosa, Face Yourself, Traitors, Waste, Lorna Shore, Carnifex. There are so many more, but, the past 5-10 years has brought out the best in all metal music, imo.
This is a fucking awesome idea. I love bleak breakdowns, glad someone covered that specifically! I should also add off the top of my head, “Vectors” by Aversion’s Crown is pretty bleak. It details the atmosphere of an incoming alien invasion. First vid I’ve seen from this channel. Subbed. Love the news headline layout and real time audio effects on the logo. Looking forward to future videos!
That was great. Of course everyone will have different opinions on what should go here, this was a good list. I will add that the kings of bleak breakdowns Decline of Order are continuously left out and a criminally underrated band. 😊
That bear was actually being extremely gentile bro, he without a doubt has history of knowing that bear from young. Otherwise, ain't no way xD sick watching a grown man hold off a gigantic animal like he did tho 😅
Demolisher is the most anti-climactic breakdown I’ve heard in years. The lead into it and Alex’s spoken word part is so cool, but the actual breakdown portion is incredibly boring.
I agree the vocals are there but the actual instrumental part of the breakdown is extremely boring, Viking is much better tho, they definitely learned from their mistakes
Omg dude thank you so fucking much for saying that! I've always thought that breakdown fucking sucked but everyone else seemed to think it was so amazing! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who hated it. I honestly hate everything the band has ever made. I love death core, death metal, and all genres in between... but I just can't get in to slaughter to prevail.
Bro what? That breakdown is how breakdowns should be. Chuggy and lots of space between the chugs and the snare hitting. The only thing it’s missing is some spacey ambient noises.
@@JordanBlue1 strongly disagree. It sounds very anti-climactic to me and the breakdown itself after Alex’s spoken word part is very very generic, not aggressive in the slightest, and just boring IMO.
In my opinion "Zavali Ebalo" and "Made In Russia" have the best breakdowns in Slaughter To Prevail's discography. But Demolisher has the most iconic bild up💪
Death Whistle by Signs of the Swam has an atomic bomb of a breakdown. I never started punching the air while listening to a song before but that one…fuckin rocks
Black Tongue and Humanity's Last Breath are just unfair to all other Bands right now desu. That weren't even their heaviest breakdowns, let alone what they play as normal part usually exceeding the heaviness of a lot of bands strongest breakdowns. Not to hate on any other great bands, these are just so far off the chart IMHO
Thy Art Is Murder! I didn’t expect to know any of the stuff on this list, much less actually own one of the examples. I downloaded Reign of Darkness a few months ago
damn this video is from a month ago and you still picked the same 6 bands and songs that are in 90% of the videos like this one. sorry if it comes off as hate but this genre needs some breathing room for new stuff already
Bleak as in miserable or bleak as in lacking charm? I can't tell if you're calling these breakdowns bad (opinion or not, that's not true) or you're calling them so good they're miserable to the human ears.
@SeBa81KEB I wasn't a huge fan of the thy art is murder break, but the rest are at least decent. I'm an equal opportunity deathcore enjoyer man I like everything lol
The full body chills I got the first time hearing Demolisher, I will never forget.
The news headlines at the bottom got me
I got distracted reading it
I loved those. 😆
Thanks to this video I discovered Slaughter to Prevail and have watched Demolisher at least 20 times tonight. Thank you so much, this is AMAZING.
I don’t mean this disrespectful but how have you never heard of em?
@@SeBa81KEBthere's a lot of bands. have you heard all of them?
My favorites by them are;
-Zavali Ebalo
-Ouroboros
-Baba Yaga
Probably in that order.
If you ever get the opportunity to see slaughter to prevail live, Alex Terrible is insane in person.
insanely racist
@@KennyKiller3000hell yeah! Thats what we like
I just started getting into deathcore, and this definitely gave me some songs to add to my playlist. Thnx man 👍👍

Listen to some old deathcore shit hits, All Shall Perish, Suicide Silence (with Mitch), as blood runs black,
Reign of Darkness is my all time favorite breakdown 🤘
Almost 9years my number 1 breakdown
Outrageous hey! Goose bumps every time
This was my first time hearing demolisher, i like that they kept the guitar part simple and gave the drummer the spotlight with some tastey fills.

Man how have you not absolutely exploded yet the scrolling text is golden and "War Pigs in a Blanket" are absolutely delicious
Love seeing I, valiance get some love, truly a hidden gem in the scene
I love STP, but every list has “Demolisher” when “Hell” or “Chronic Slaughter” are siiiiick songs with nasty breakdowns
I haven't even watched the video yet, you have a new subscriber for that disclaimer intro 😂😂😂
Best disclaimer ever 😂
Best part is the scrolling text at the bottom
Slaughter to prevail 🔥🔥🔥
Second Death was my first deathcore song ever. And by a country mile still my favorite.
Mine too actually! I like eternal return to ruin as well!
Nadir is really one of the greatest deathcore albums of all time
Mine too wtf that's crazy
Never heard or worm shepherd, adding them to my playlist. Thumbs up!
Worm Shepherd was wild. Not my idea of "bleak" but wild and Im glad it was there.
Great selection! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
That news reading at the bottom is so hilarious.

Brutal 🔥🔥🔥
"Deathcore and Brutal "
My jaw is still open from that last one.
Did anyone else find the Worm Shepard breakdown funny? Inlove pig squeals but that was ridiculous 😂

Yeeeeesh, Worm Shepard has some nasty breakdowns
Detestor breakdown was actually bleak, unlike the rest. Would love some really low growls on it
Jesus christ that HLB one was unreal
actual soundtrack to the apocalypse
Demolishers breakdown is a letdown with such a wicked build up
Reign of Darkness is the song I was listening to the first time I ever benched 3 plates. It will forever hold a special place in my heart.
The breakdown in reign of darkness is the death core equivalent to a Caravaggio painting.
THE STANKINESS IS OUT OF THIS WORLD
FUCK YEAH
The news bar at the bottom tho. LMAO!!!
Slit wrist savior by Canifex will always have a special place in my black heart.
In the part before the breakdown in the Worm Shepard song, his voice sounds like a rewinding tape haha
Awesome video, a few songs i haven't heard of and adding to my playlist
Humanity's Last Breath // Detestor is the best of these, I've honestly never heard anything like it
Demolisher is the most anti-climactic breakdown I’ve heard in years. The lead into it and Alex’s spoken word part is so cool, but the actual breakdown portion is incredibly boring.
The most badass metal sound and breakdown is around the 2:30 mark Daddy By Korn after he says “it’s alright”
I agree the vocals are there but the actual instrumental part of the breakdown is extremely boring, Viking is much better tho, they definitely learned from their mistakes

Bleak is being used to say they were lowkey disappointing right?

Too edgy not enough substance but these genres aren't usually what i listen to. Different strokes
