The only thing I would consider when you do these dams and where??? If the houses that may be around them don't have local Fire Hydrants, The Fire Dept can use that water to put out fires... And if it is Gone then they have to use Trucked in Water I would suppose???

Not only that, it doesn't take them very long to do it either, post10 is always clearing beaver dams and sets up trail cameras. They build dams up over night. Thet dam probably didn't take them but a few nights to build. Never seen a human built dams middle stay up after the sides failed.

We always call it "doing the Lord's work." The interesting part is that those most in need of doing this type of constructive labor are those least likely to do it on their own. Self-esteem comes from performing esteemable acts. Takes me back to the many hours I spent doing trail maintenance, because.

How do they manage downstream water levels? How much power do the dams produce? Jamming sticks into the mud until they hold back water is more of a "keep trying til something works" method of design, it's not really engineering. But it is cool.
