Welcome back! This is Chris' bagged Subaru Forester STi, swapped with an EJ207 from a GC8 STi for better flow and more power. Power isn't everything though, and this mighty example of Subaru shenanigans proves just that. Plenty of goodies hidden from plain sight. Enjoy!

Man a Forester STi has been my dream ride for a loooong time and it sucks it will never happen haha.
Not true brother, 06-07 FSTI is exempt from the 25 year rule. Just requires extra paperwork to import. As well the 04-08 is an an Impreza product so just buy a base auto forester and make your own.

My first Subie ever was an â01 Forester L, which I fixed its motor after the infamous H/G leak. I did everything on that car from regular maintenance to all sort of suspension work and learned a lot and always enjoyed the awesome AWD. Needless to say, I just fell in love with the brand. I come from the 90s Honda scene and had everything from a Civic Si to a beautiful S2K. But after owning Subies, Iâm now on my 3rd Subie and havenât looked back. This SF5 STi M is simply awesome! Thanks for sharing.
The attention to detail that was put into this car, inside and out is so amazing.
I like the 3d printed bezel for the airlift controller. I'm working on doing the same thing in my 94 legacy

I saw a same gen Forester (GT model) on my way home from work today, it was lowered with pink wheels.
Been following him for awhile. Love this build. đ also wanted to add @9:05, all foresters through 2008 had pillarless doors not just first gens.
Thought about it 20yrs ago because it had one of the best body style... i didnt have the means!!
I have a 2000 subaru forester turbo, it has been my favorite to car to drive! it's extremely fun in the snowy parts of Japan

Yeah been following him on Instagram ever since I got my own FSTI. Allot of work put in this build đ But you should also drive the newer SG STI which is now elegible to be imported in Canada.

In the PNW (WA) Subaru has a factory. They are the Honda Civic equivalent. A dime a dozen. I like this Subaru. Customized. As all cars should be. Expression.â€

Chris, this is masterpiece, i love ideas implemented here. I have the same fenderist kit, aby idea how to fit rims with that big ET?
I'm actually using factory alignment specs. and no spacers. 18x10.5 +12 I have plans going forward to extend my lower control arms in the rear a little bit and then a couple other little things here and there.
@@stressed_garage i was wondering if 19 inch would fit in those fenders but your example shows that 18 is big enough :-)

Had an s-turbo also. Best car I ever had.
HaHa I bought my SH Forester in 2019 as a daily while I was replacing my engine in my WRX. My WRX is still in garage and my Forester is lowered on coilovers, 25mm rear sway bar, adjustable lca's and lateral bars. Stronger font and rear endlinks and 18x9 1/2 wheels with 245/40 tires. It handles so well I had to put a well bolstered drivers seat in it. Next is STI full drivetrain minus engine. Maybe one day I will get back to the WRX.
Cool build, the moulding on the fenders is bit rough though.
i want to mold it in but abs to metal in my climate will probably crack :(

Love the SF5 manual extremely rare nearly all automatic i had a 2001 uk s turbo sf5 manual here in Scotland lost it too rust rear subframe snapped off almost half and it rotted in usuall rear suspension turrets i sold it and its had thousands spent its on road with prodrive exaust and wrx subframe

Are all of the Impreza Platform steering racks bolt on to the Forester? Could I pretty easily put an STI rack into my â98 Forester?
Dont quote me on this but the model 08 -11 has a more bulletproof engine. We had a couple people push the stock block to over 400Hp (in NZ) and I think also in Australia. Very similar to the 04 model just with more comfort etc. I never had one personally, I had a 04 TbSTi Legacy and 05 ST, although 2 of my brothers have had a few foresters and still do and theyre nice to drive.
Yes the SH is better comes with a EJ255, mine makes 350awhp

so the idea behind this was if in 2001 they made an actual Forester STI with the ej207. if I ever need another engine I'd probably do a hybrid 2.5 block with these 207 heads.
See ive seen some of these amazing forest builds and i want to get one cuz the i loved the wagon style impreza but getting one where i live in good conditions yeah nah good luck
I love everything about this car. I'd say my only dislike would be how low it is to the ground. I'd definitely raise it if it were me. Just a personal preference though.
Other then that, absolutely gorgeous car. I wish I could do something like this with my subaru outback. Lol

what wheel do you put on
By stock ecu, do you mean the fozzy ecu or the stock 207 ecu?
the only difference between the two is the 207 has an intake air temperature sensor where the 205 ECU does not. I'm actually swapping it out to a 208 legacy ECU it's pretty close to the same. the main difference is it has four outputs for spark instead of just two. I'm also going to speed density while retaining the stock ecu

Have you driven a 20 or newer Outback Xt turbo ? When you speak of Subaru losing there direction , many of the people saying this havenât driven a new Subaru

Newest Subaru I drove was a 2019 Outback 3.6R. It's the move to CVTs that have largely killed the brand for me... 0 feel.

Iâm own a â17 STI, FBO and e85, and I think I have PTSD from all the issues Iâve had with it in just 8 months of ownership. Now every time I watch a video about a modded Subie, my brain starts yelling, âROD KNOCK, HEAD GASKETS, TIMING BELT, OIL CONSUMPTION, CYLINDER 4 MISFIRE, DAM DROP, FALSE KNOCK IS REAL KNOCKâ and I get the urge to write the owner of the car in the video to warn them to sell their Subaru while they still have their sanity (and short block) intact.
On a completely unrelated note, does anyone want to buy a nice clean 2017 WRX STI? Itâs bone stock and only used for picking up my Grandma from her weekly Bingo tournament. I love the car and itâs been SUPER reliable. Only reason Iâm downgrading to a Golf R is for the extra cargo space to fit my Grandmaâs wheelchair. đ€đ

Not enough "fans" to justify bringing the Forester STI. A simple 04-08 FXT build with the STi DCCD 6spd drivline into a Forester would blow the doors off the JDM SG5 Forester STI. No top end because the small turbos Subaru chooses to run. That VF28 is SO SMALL. The VF39/43/48 are small turbos too. They don't give you the greatest powerband. Throw in a 62MM turbo and it'll give you top end on both 2L & 2.5L.

Iâm gonna put this out here. The reason the United States does not get any of the cool cars is because we would not of bought it. Subaru made the Legacy Spec B and they did not sell well. We only want them now because we canât have them.
