Quail Hatch!

- Over the past few months I have been working on this Bobwhite quail breeding project. And today is the day you guys get to watch the first step of the process!! A year ago we brought bobwhite quail onto our property. These chicks are very fragile, so half of what we had did not survive. But over the past months I have watched these birds grow and develop, and have formed quite a curiosity about them. A month ago I decided to set some eggs, and put them in the incubator. This is the story of how I hatched out the quail...I hope you all enjoy it!

Awesome! I'm incubating in a Kebonnixs Digital similar to yours. it is preset at 99.5° but the farmer told me for an higher hatch rate to set the temperature to 100.3° I was a little hesitant to change it, so I just put it on 100° on day 2.. I'm kind of glad I did because I have a small calibrated thermometer inside, and it's only reading 99.7° . I'm on day 5 now and hoping for the best..❤
Good luck to you on your hatch!! I found that the quail eggs had the highest hatch rate I've ever seen when I've incubated, and I had it set at the preset level the whole time. Hopefully you get a decent crop of little chicks!
