I live just outside of Daytona Beach and have attended the rally for 25 years or so. As long as you're not looking for trouble, you'll be perfectly fine. 99.9% of the people are there to celebrate motorcycles and have a good time. Enjoy!
Police can be very aggressive especially on Main Street. I had a friend that got a ticket for no eye protection because he lifted his face shield on a hot day doing walking speeds.
