    Thank you for the outdoor comparison - I am deciding between the non-solar Fenix 7 and the Epix 2 since I will use the watch for golf and gym nonsense. Coming from an Apple Watch I am trying to work out whether the AMOLED display is going to be any good for golf in bright sunlight. Not really concerned about the price difference to be honest, don't care about the battery life since will only use this for activities

    nice video, how about the other setting for the fenix with the screen showing opposite colors? white with black numbers?

    I do wish in the outside test you had shielded the glare so we didn’t see the sky reflecting back, to give an accurate viewing of what they would look like on your wrist. For example when looking at it, it would be tilted towards your face somewhat, meaning it wouldn’t be direct sky glare but instead just the screen. Good video nonetheless.
    I like my epix but am leaning towards switching to the Fenix 7x. I just prefer that full display always on

      Mike, you may find our 'walk and talk' videos on these two watches useful -

      I hope these help.

    does anyone know if the epix 2 got the function to change the background from black to white like on the fenix 7?

  • @christranter8882
    @christranter8882 Před 2 lety

    Interestingly, the Epix seems to turn the backlight off which dims the screen on the map view compared to the Fenix. Though I guess this doesn’t happen if you have it on your wrist? Currently deciding between these two (though the 7x) and possibly these same colours.

      Here are my thoughts on it, and I still stand by these after wearing an Epix for a few months - czcams.com/video/IsKRJcOox1Y/video.html

      @@ukgpstraining Hey mate, I read somewhere that you sold the Fenix 7. Do you regret this decision after living with he epix? Just trying to decide which to pull the pin on! Thanks!!

      @@juniorvassiliou8544 In next Wednesday's video (my second walk and talk with the Epix) you will see me go through my thinking and yes, sold my Fenix and now just using the EPIX.
      I don't regret the decision.

    Garmin needs to bring back the DX glass, the reflection on the sapphire glass are just too distracting and I switched to the Epix now

      Are you finding the same problem with the EpIx (Gen2)?

  • @neoone75
    @neoone75 Před 2 lety +1

    They are the same watch. Epix 2 just have the better screen. They share same case, tech and features. IMHO Epix 2 is a game changer. Finally we have amoled screen which makes many fenix features more usable. I've been using fenix 5 plus sapphire for couple of years. It has worked well but navigation for example is useless bc of poor screen resolution and brightness.

    • @ukgpstraining
      @ukgpstraining  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for your detailed thoughts. Are you not struggling with the EPIX 2 screen a little in bright sunshine? I appreciate I can just turn your back to the sun and shade it, but interested to hear your thoughts/ experiences.

    • @lorumipsum1129
      @lorumipsum1129 Před rokem +1

      That’s only on the sapphire screen. It doesn’t handle reflections on it as well as standard glass variations of the fenix 7

    Epix has n AMOLED screen which uses double the amount of power to run it. I have the Fenix7 and can get 18 days easily out of mine with all functions running. try that with the Epix. Maybe 5 days if you're lucky.

    • @sup3rc001
      @sup3rc001 Před 2 lety +3

      It literally takes less than 2 hrs to fully charge the Epix 2 not a big deal, and with the AOD off and gesture on, I get about 16 days.
