Welcome or welcome back to my channel, in today’s video I’ll be telling you what to expect from doing your Counselling Honours at UNISA, I just completed my Psychology Honours there so this is a firsthand point of view and obviously very personal I suppose. However, I did try to generalise and I definitely tried to tell you what to expect from each modules.

Yoooh I don’t know if you’re going to see this comment but I am panicking, so I applied for my psychology honors APP instead of counselling, I just wanted to know if I am in the right field for when I wanna persue as a clinical psychologist in future??

Hi. What are the assignment structures? I know they used to do a lot of multiple choices in undergrad but in honours, is it essay or still multiple choice?
I did psychological assessment from undergrad and it was not really hard, I enjoyed it, also did it first semester postgrad and it showed me flames😥
When you said “not really hard” I nearly thought well maybe I am the ground. 😂😂
But ah! Postgrad is very... yoh, hai shem i don’t know what they sprinkle in it there. 😂

Hey , when studying psychology honours at UniSA will it be possible to work during that time? Like is there compulsory lectures and tutorials that you have to attend? Because I am planning to work while studying full time I just want to know if this is manageable.

There were several people in my school groups there were doing both. It is very manageable just would need great time management. There’s nothing that’s compulsory or needs attending on campus so you’ll be fine. 🤍

Out of the 8 modules, which textbooks must I buy?
The honors structure is very different from the psychology honors program at ukzn.
Psychological assessment is the pits of hell, having a lecturer doesn't really make it easier.😭😭😭😭
Oh yeah, I’ve realised one size does not fit all in terms of university syllabi. 😂 they all roll the way they want! 😂

What are the modules that you did at UP for your undergraduate?
Oh they were all over the place
Sport psych, psych, Spanish, English, criminology
Reminder: there are no ‘right modules’ and I did a general BA but it genuinely doesn’t matter as long as you do psych and get your credits.
How many modules you need to finish a BA degree at Unisa . Undergraduates
Unfortunately I don’t know. I never did my undergrad at UNISA.
I am thinking of studying psychology at unisa full time online and working full time, do you think that would give me enough time to study and do all my assignments?
I think it would, a few students do so. As long as you’re able to separate your time and stick to the schedule you make so that you’re sure you do your assignments when you need to.

You add both psych marks and divide by two.
I actually have no idea, but it doesn’t hurt to try. 😊

How does this different honours degree in psychology at Unisa affect your application for masters in counseling or clinical psychology
It doesn’t. All universities do things differently so there’s nothing actually different about this. BPsych Equivalent and just Honours is where the difference is.
@@MbaliJ I'm completing my undergraduate now in psychological counseling and have applied for honors next year. Is there something that I can do to bridge the gap and be able to register with the HPCSA? while still pursuing this long route to Masters? 🤔
