- We took an alternative tour of the beautiful North Yorkshire seaside town of Whitby. We set out with all good intentions to produce a sensible guide to all the tourist spots but the rain meant we inevitably had so seek refuge in several pubs.

There were big queues at Trenches just round the corner, we've had to wait a while in the past with the Magpie

Many a walk down that same road into Whitby in the 80's from my Grandparents house. Brings back the memories. (Of having sore legs and feet. Why can't we drive down Mum??)

Its probably seventy years since I was there - thanks so much for the re-tour. I also stayed at the Blue Robin on the edge of the Yorkshire moors a few years later when visiting Robin Hoods Bay. 😃

When I got my van friends said get a VW T5 it will get you all around the world I said don’t really need to go further than Whitby. We spend all our time round Goathland Whitby and Scarborough no need Togo further.
Its beautiful around there. We particularly love Scarborough but that's more of a family tradition thing
