I don't have any Asics right now, but I would like to try the Vic NBD. It looks like a skate/runner hybrid in the best way. Super clean. The colorway is sick as well.
I've gotten a pair of all of their models so far, and they're all great. The Vic NBD is my next shoe to skate after my Japans, and the Gel Vickkas will be probably the last ones I skate. The 2.0 is dope as a chiller for the moment
I love the fact that ASICS is going with a split tongue in these shoes. They over lap in these but the running shoes the split tongue is right down the middle. I love ASICS for running with a split tongue, I hope they eventually do that with their skate line. Asics are low key putting out some of the best skate shoes right now, just the right amount of tech in em too.
The Gel Splyte is dope. There's a lot of potential with these...if Asics would do some collabs w/ skate shops. I'm a fan of the classic Asics Gel Lyte 3 running shoes, and it also has a split tongue, so it's cool that Asics have a skate shoe w/ a similar aesthetic....
@@DavidBluetile They actually have a line of boxing shoes lol. People who wear them as a fashion statement are kinda the worst. It's like when bowling shoes was a thing. Also these shoes look like they really tried to make a good respectable skate shoe, and not a cheap shoe. Not for me as overall it doesn't look like anythign I would wear, but I commend them on the effort.
@@DavidBluetile The city of love brown sb dunks to skate. The most skatable shoe I've tried so far. I'm not a brown shoe guy but I like how they look and my outfits with them. (Like dark blue slim ccs denim with a natural color long sleeve T-shirt, I bought one last month with gism 'punks is hippies' on it and some neon pink logos superimposed on top lol.) But I think I need a new shoe. I might get them in a half size up next time. They're my TTS but the toe feels tight also. It also feels like the leather in the upper is really tough and enjoyable to skate, but I can feel it wrapping under the last of the shoe, or the footbed. Dunks just have no extra foam on the forefoot, but the outsole is rigid enough that if I land weird, it saves my foot. They're just barely tanks. I also use extended wear insoles in them now, since the dunks don't have poron until the edge of the insole. I was skating on sale accel slims as my first comeback skate shoe last september now I've settled on this shoe for now. I also recently bought some authentic vans in dress blue, but I skated them the other day a lil bit after I skated all day and showered, my bad. I like wearing those most of the time with the dunk insole inside. They just breathe good. And I also bought some natas' that I probably don't wear enough, but they're still cool to look at. I also bought transparent boxes to put my shoes in. And I have jordan 4's that I am not too scared to skate in and then wipe down a little bit at the end of the day. The military industrial blue ones, they're light grey and blue. Also a black hat to keep my hair in check (and the sun), usually a girl snapback with kuromi on it instead hahaha. Also, I try to never buy used shoes or wear a dirty hat with sweat stains on it lol.
I think they would be perfect for that but not as comfortable as a good running shoe. I will say that some people have said that it’s tight across the top of their foot, but I didn’t have that problem.

Do you like the overlapped split tongue or the regular split tongue they normally do on their runners?
