I am so new I am still learning my torch. I have less then enough money to make the dream come true. But my daughter is the pie in the key for me. She is my favorite person. Yet I remember learning glass with her mom and learning how different glass woks. It easy to get into it again knowing I had a great mind working along with me.

Such a sick video! Thanks Dustin for all the awesome tutorials and videos! I started glassblowing not so long ago and I’ve watched your videos from day one, they’ve definitely helped me get to where I am today! Here in Israel we aren’t a lot of glassblowers so having someone as professional as you share this much knowledge with the world is really inspiring and appreciated 🙏🏼❤️

Also I’m in upstate ny, I play with boro. Been in the torch a little over a year. Currently working on sleeving colors. Have landed some Christmas ornaments and a couple pipes so far. Next week I’m gonna add some opal into it and sleeve that. Love glass! No hobby has sucked me in like glass has, so much to learn.

I'd just say overall use has made them popular, anyone who's owned both knows 18mm is superior. I've made custom slide displays since 2018 and out of the thousands of sales I've made only a few 14mm versions ever.

Torch hypnosis carries a jig adapter for bridging from the jig that hold a rod parallel to the forming tool handle that has a screw to keep the rod in place and bridges to the handle or accents unless it's a slide without any handle and a certain color that will be noticed if you bridge to it.

So it is a bevel- to be more specific though it is called a Chamfer. When you make something not have an acute angle - like in glass you don’t want acute angles because that is a stress point- it is called chamfering the edge. You see this on all types of work when you want something to slide in smoothly or have more strength at break points.
The more we know- the stronger we grow!

I use to use 14's only when I started smoking with china glass, as soon as I got my first Heady tube and 18-4 slide I never went back, 18's get less dirty over time and are easier to clean. Plus they just have more airflow. Forsure a fan of 18's over 14's. Cheers From Canada, NL

Blow a bubble. Heat a spot on the bubble and use a bowl push or graphite rod to push that are towards the center of the bubble. Do that 2 more times. Your goal is to touch those 3 areas together evenly. Heat it all up and very gentle puffs to even out. Then just pick the hole. I believe Paul Taylor has a demo on his patreon.
