      Because telling someone "They're pretty" may boost their confidence a little, but it's up to themselves to help them feel beautiful

      Kaylee Dejesus Exactly, someone telling you that you're beautiful shouldn't all of a sudden make you beautiful or else you really care about what that person thinks. You have to truly feel it, and know what you think

      StRaWbeRrYsasha Because as much as some people may compliment, there are always people to 'level' you to bring you down a notch. Also, women who are truly beautiful, people don't say as much because ppl assume that they hear it all of the time.

      I think most women who are beautiful adults have had issues with their appearance as a child. Halle Berry, Giselle, even Cindy Crawford were teased or told they were not pretty enough to model. Alba seems no different.

    I'm a 23 male, and even if it's weird for a dude to be so in to this, your videos and vlogs honestly inspired so much in me, not only making better choices, but to help me be more handsome as a person and accept myself inside and out. Even since watching one and taking your recommendations on skin, and learning to love myself and honestly idk if you'll read this but your videos are extremely encouraging and helpful. As someone who's grew feeling like their ugly and not good enough, instead of just giving up, people like you teach me how to put effort into who I am, and making the right choices for you is honestly what matters, loving yourself is what matters. This video is so pure and genuine and honestly inspiring. Thank you.

    I cried during this video. I'm 16 and every single insecurity you had, I went through the exact same thing. The tall skinny girl. I walked kinda hunched over. I was always at the back of the line. I was teased for having a gap between my teeth and a booty chin and my acne and no boobs or butt and I'm a junior now I have curly hair like yours and I'm still insecure. People tell me I'm gorgeous but I honestly don't believe it. I wish one day I'll be able to look at myself the way you look at yourself. So thank you.

      U shouldn't change Ur body. That's how u were made and u should be proud, btw having big boobs isn't as amazing at it seems. I can never get away with dressing cute like how petite girls look like. Big boobs also make it really hard to do any sports and gives back pain. Instead of me wanting a Breast reduction, it was my mom who wants me to get it. Even tho those stuff bother me, I wouldn't change my body. Cuz there's pros and cons in everybody.

I was just looking in the mirror from when I got out the shower, looking at my acne scars, my sloppy breasts, thinking I'm overweight, etc and how amazing it would be to get surgery, loss a ton of weight get scar removal surgery, fix my teeth.. I always focus so much on just the "bad" things about myself, that I make myself insecure and unhappy, I put all these negative things in my head about myself because of what I think I what to be because I think it'll make me "happy", I was losing sight of what's really important.

      +bubble gum Please please please do not have plastic surgery unless it is something *you truly want to do for yourself and no one else!* you are so young and your body and face haven't even stopped growing and changing yet! Sometimes we grow into our features and think wow, I can't believe I wanted to change this! Don't let anyone make you feel pressured into having to do something you don't want to go through with, because at the end of the day, it is you that will be stuck with it if you don't like it (after spending 10s of thousands of dollars, and they will go on living their life). You are so beautiful and unique the way you are and if you want to change something in the future, do it, but make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. Love yourself no matter what and appreciate the skin your in no matter how flawed (this is something I've struggled with greatly myself). We only have one body and no matter what it looks like, it is strong and incredibly special and carries every day through this world and without it you wouldn't exist!

Until about last year (8th grade) I was always that tall, skinny, flat chested girl, with "poofy" hair as well, and to be honest I still am! the difference is that i no longer see it as something negative and no one comments on it because now i have learned to accept it and to be extremely confident in my body. I used to pray to God every night and ask him to make me shorter because all of the other girls were short. Now, I love my height. I'm also 5'7! Girl, I relate to you so much! The flat chest, height, imperfection - People are so mean. But I learned to love myself for who I am and it took me having my daughter to realize that I'm okay. I'm different, but I'm who god made me to be. Thank you for highlighting that it's just as difficult being underweight and having to put weight on in a healthy safe way as being over weight and losing weight.
    It's not a subject that's brought up a lot.
    I have people ask me if I'm sick or anorexic, and saying to be that being as skinny as I am is not as sexy as curves.. That's is just as hurtful as calling someone fat.

    I had the opposite problem growing up. My boobs were way to big. Got teased for it big time. I hated them! I wanted surgery to reduce them. When I got older I lost some weight and the size of them went down some since then. Still would like to have smaller boobs.

    What wonderful wise words! I hope every little girl, and woman of every age hears this. Thank you for using your passion and love of beauty to speak out these truths that so many of us went through feeling when were were young and how we can even feel this way now. I went through a lot of what you did and I can say we are on the same page. Great job! One blurb of true beauty is :
    A wife of noble character who can find?
    She is worth far more than rubies.Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
    She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.
    She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
    She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.
    She gets up while it is still night;
    she provides food for her family
    and portions for her female servants.
    She considers a field and buys it;
    out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
    She sets about her work vigorously;
    her arms are strong for her tasks.
    She sees that her trading is profitable,
    and her lamp does not go out at night.
    In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
    She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
    When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
    She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
    Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
    She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
    She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
    She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
    She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
    Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
    “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
    Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
    Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
    Proverbs 31: 10-31

    Oh my goodness thank you so soooo much for this video! I too was also so focused on physical beauty during most of my time in middle school and high school. And to be honest, I didn't really pay to much attention to my health. However, I've recently started watching your channel because I began to have an interest in makeup because there has been someone who's interested me. I do admit that I did start wearing makeup because of him, but I actually now enjoy it. I like the way it makes me feel. But putting that aside...what was I saying earlier....oh yes your channel. There was a video I recall watching, I think it was your body hygiene video or something like that. But I remember you saying that despite using all of these products, it won't do any good if you're not healthy on the inside. And that really struck me. So I've been trying to eat healthier and drink more water. Oh and I'm 20 and still have an acne problem... But I think if I continue what I'm doing now, my skin will improve

The stretch marks/laser treatments, the breast implants, a chin surgery - I’ve considered it all! I support anyone’s choice to augment her body, but the inner beauty and wanting to own who I am have always brought me back to just accepting what I have.

    ever since I was a teenager my family (mainly the females) all said that they were gonna pitch in to get me a boob job for my 18th birthday. I'm 5'2, 107lbs, barely an A cup and am the only one in my family with such small boobs. I was so about it. I always said right after my graduation, I was going to get in the car and drive straight to the operation room. eventually, time passed and it wasnt brought up after many years (mainly because of money because I know if the money was there, it would've happened). I had my daughter 18 months ago, I am now 26. I gained 40 lbs in my pregnancy and within a week of having my daughter I was down to 115. I was hoping some of the weight would stay on, at least on my boobs, but it didn't. at all. well a couple months ago my grandma mentioned the boob job, for the first time in many years, as a joke to my daughter (because she doesn't "understand" according to her) and that was the moment I finally said it out loud and it sunk in.. who cares if I have small boobs or watermelon sized boobs? this is who I am and I've been this way for 26 years. why should I change now? and for who? i don't want a man that is only attracted to me because of my breast size. and I also got kind of bothered that she mentioned it to my daughter. she is way too young to be told that a woman's breast size "matters." I don't want her predisposed to negative influences about the "right" or "perfect" female body image. I no longer want the boob job not just because of myself, but because of my daughter. I am going to show her that the size of our breast don't make us beautiful. I want to be the strong role model she deserves. if I don't accept and love myself for who I am how can I show her to do the same?
    this was such an inspirational story. you are such a strong and positive woman. I wish every teenage girl could see this video. it made me feel so much better about myself. thank you for sharing the positive vibes. 💜

    So wise for such a young woman. I enjoyed listening to your story of growth and self-discovery. I certainly agree with you comments about inner beauty. I've met some beautiful women, but the minute they started talking, all of their beauty seemed to fade away. Beauty truly does come from the inside out. I've also met women who weren't classically beautiful, but the minute they started talking, they just glowed with beauty. I love that you shared what you thought were your physical imperfections. Young girls need to hear that no body is perfect. What makes us unique and beautiful are all of our individual shapes, puckers, scars, bumps and all. Thanks for sharing. You're an inspiration.

      I don't think your comment was very intelligent. Putting over people down because they choose differently as you is not helping anyone . Everyone does things for different reasons and you can only truly speak for yourself. Studies show people who put other people down feel bad about themselves and in fact they themselves have low self esteem. Next time you speak be more considerate of your limited views on life. Oh and the reason I your comment stood out was because my mom had breast cancer and she decided to get breast implants.

Enjoy your life and spend money on the things that will give you experience and health rather than just a temporary satisfaction that will leave you in the same place. Be healthy, travel, experience the world and love all that you see.
