With the original release version of ME1 I always had some general protection fault crash on Noveria often in the hallway to go to the tram or just after you leave Port Hanshan with the Mako. Then they did an update for the game to allow full HD resolutions a few years ago and I never had that issue after that. The crash often meant having to do most of the mission multiple times in hopes to get past the area that triggers the crash. Extremely frustrating. I mainly play through with the Legendary Edition when the mood strikes me.

I always thought it was a mistake that they abandoned this kind of format in ME2 and ME3. I really wish they would bring it back in the next Mass Effect.
Funny enough, ME1 almost seems more similar to KOTOR than it does to ME2 and 3.
Noveria and the first visit to the Citadel are missions that always stood out to me because of their hub area structure and multiple paths to the same objective.
All while still keeping the hub area a "Combat Zone" in some parts.

You can also choose option one after getting Qui'in's evidence but before giving it away to anyone, do the assignments on Peak 15, go back to Anoleis, let him pay you for your information about the situation there (without really telling him anything worthwhile) and help Gianna against Anoleis anyways. It is not really a sixth way to get the garage pass, since you get it basically the same way is in the first option, but you get out some extra credits out of the administrator before getting him arrested.
    [Edit]
Furthermore you can max out XPs by convincing Opold into telling you, who's the package for, than first talk to Anoleis (without telling him about the smuggling), talk to Gianna and do the whole Synthetic Inside quest until you convince Lorik to testify (it is really important that you do that *before* heading out to Peak 15, since he won't be there anymore afterwards) but DON'T speak to Gianna, then go back to Opold, tell him that you keep the package (you will receive the upgrade) and immediately after go to Anoleis and sell Opold out, show him the mod and convince him to keep it thereafter (so you will get the mod twice), you will get the garage pass and a reward (you can maximise it by with a renegade/paragon option). Leave for Peak 15 and when you come back, go to Anoleis, sell your testimony about what happened there (you can be very vague) and then talk to Gianna about the evidence and get him arrested.

It would have been much faster and more convenient to just shoot Anoleis, and take a pass off of his body; when he doesn't give Commander Shepard clearance to Peak 15. Noveria is still in Council Space, and Anoleis is clearly slowing down Shepard's investigation; so killing him would be an acceptable route.

Speedrun the game twice: first run going Full Renegade and using the Space Monkey Glitch, then use the Lorik Qui'in glitch in the second speedrun (having gained enough Points to persuade him), then repeat this for a third and final Save to migrate to ME2. The goal from this is to max out my Charm/Intimidate and invest the Skill Points to have stronger abilities. It's meta-gaming at its finest!
