My phone had a few extra screws and differed very slightly but managed to change the charging port! Thank you for this clear and useful video - very pleased not to have to buy a new phone. :D
Thanks so much for the video; I wish I'd used it right away instead of just pulling the back of the phone off....I kind of broke the ribbon cable to the finger print reader. My phone was only sometimes charging and my headphone jack was worn out too, so it's nice that the replacement fixes the charging port and has a 3.5mm jack too. Now I get to replace the fp scanner, really should have looked at a guide first; the adhesive is loose on mine so I just thought, 'hey it'll be easy to remove the back since I took it apart a year or so back for the camera lens replacement'.....yeah, it was easy, also easy to break the scanner that I use every day at work. Oh well, easy enough fix, I've been wanting to get a new phone for a while now but all the options I like(only 1 really, the zenfone 10) are expensive; I'll make my phone last until something I like that doesn't cost a ton of money comes out. One thing I struggled with was getting the new part to slot in, the video made it look like it fit in no problem, I had do put pressure on the connector cable to angle it downward towards the bottom of the phone and then it slotted in. I feel like I may have damaged the headphone jack in the process it seems finicky. So maybe some clarification on that step would be good. Thanks.
I have a question. After doing the repair I have no service. I did not take out the sim tray, could that have messed things up? Maybe damaged the sim card? My microsd still works fine and it's in the same area. If it's a bad sim card now I'll just get a new one just want to be sure. I thought it was a disconnected antenna cable at first but just looked into that and they're both connected now for sure.
Great video. Thanks. Used it to change the charger port PCB but now I have no mobile signal. Charging port, speaker and microphone all work. Any ideas? I assume I broke something.
Just changed the screen out. Took this out not realizing I didn't need too. Now it doesn't work. Charger, mic, or headphones. Could I have ruined it or just improperly installed?
@@DIYGeardo without. It was just the "digitalizer" screen and cable. Had to swap ear piece and edgeing. I'm going to get cover back off and see if anything glaringly wrong....like unplugged cable 🤔

It can be a faulty board
why do we need to *completely* unplug the battery ? Isn't it enough to unplug it just from the charging board we want to change ? Thank you
It is always good to unplug the battery when you are doing any sort of repair..
Hello ! that was a cool video, thanks for the info :) I've subscribed and u got my like

Which repair you did? Screen or charging port?
@@DIYGeardo screen. But took the port out thinking it would be in the way or something.
@@TheDragonAzz you replaced the screen with frame or without?
@@DIYGeardo without. It was just the "digitalizer" screen and cable.

Cable wasn't "clicked" in. 😒
A really helpful video. Thanks.... BUT that music is so dam annoying
Sorry for that, will work on it
Dude way too much glue and unnecessary on back plastic case. It snaps into place. Only glue screen to frame.
