To me Talia is littel bit like child, when cries so easily. If somebody else gets pregnant and is going to have child. I would be like cool, congrats and not care about that anymore that much and, if somebody else hamster dies I would be like rest in piece its sad day for you, but hamsters anways got shorth lifespan, so how does it make you cry. Everybody else there were literally laughing, so I would littel bit too, when why you need funeral for your hamster. It would have just been hilarous to even see Talia at the funeral, when she got a lot diffrent reaction, than anybody else there got.
I love and appreciate the empathy she can feel for others, its nice to see for a change. Especially when you're from a place where everyone looks out for themselves.

I get what you say about the empathy. Like when a child drops a piece of food they are really enjoying. I don't just think cheer up we can get another one. I think of the actual emotion that that child felt in that second and it crushes me every time. Anger happiness sadness fear my mood is basically determined by whoever is closest. It's so normal to cry for things that involve feelings. Crying at a baby announcement is totally understandable, it's not some little thing for your friend to become a parent and bring a life into the world. Crying at the hamster is because of the fact they had a funeral for it and showed cute memories. I cry instantly just from hearing sad music in a film no matter what's actually happening visually. Being emotional just means you care about things and that you're connected to the world around you and it's nice!

I think it literally comes down to the individual.
JJ seems like he couldn't just hangout with a girl 1 on 1 without wanting something to happen, so he personally couldn't be proper friends with a girl.
Lots of people are able to hangout 1 on 1 with there being no sexual or romantic interest, which is good.
I think the issue comes from making overreaching statements about guys and girls as a whole, instead of just stating he personally can't be friends with a girl (which is fine)

as a girl who grew up with basically 98% of my friends group being male, who all have girlfriends of their own now, JJs problem with male female friendship never happened to us. but that could just be that way since we've all been neighbors since birth.
No it's just the other way around for you, how can you be so sure that none of them have at some point had lustful thoughts about you? Just because you're friends with someone doesn't mean you don't find them attractive and even want more than that, it's why you read or hear about countless best friends eventually getting together or getting married, you can't really help who you crush on unless you're asexual or something and literally have no interest in being with anyone.
I definitely don't completely agree with the notion that guys and girls can't be friends but there's a distinction to be made there, the main one being the difference between male and female psychology.

There have been a few occasions when I’m hanging out with a group of friends or a female friend, then all of a sudden she does something awkward/cute that makes me go “holy shit I think I love her.” It’s such a weird sensation but usually I get over it, a few times I don’t. This probably happened with your friends too but they’re either too respectful or shy to do anything about it
