Remember the days when you we used to live for this kind of music. When our worlds revolved around it. 55 now and recently listening to The Eagle Has landed whilst out in the hills on the push bike. Love it.

Same age and exactly the same sentiments and recollections - I remember reading the back of The Eagle Has Landed album with my friends - all that technical data, audible projection, Eagle dimensions, cups of tea drank, and Nigel Glockler clocking 98mph on the drums - it was the most important information to me at the time. They were the best days - I mean, I've had a lot of best days since then, but nothing tops that nostalgia.

Yepp, thats what we did: live for this music. And we still do. This music is timeless. I'm 55 and my head just can't stop move.

I am 59 and I still bang my head, though most of the hair has gone! Saxon, what a band, the only band I have ever seen that told a crowd of 70,000 at monsters of rock (1982) to stop throwing bottles on the stage or they would leave, no more bottles were thrown. That was a bloody great day, Quo, Gillan, Saxon, Hawkwind, Ural heap and Anvil. Plus the late great Tommie Vance, introducing the bands. Thanks for this, I saw them on this tour, just perfect, fantastic days, I think I managed to see about 200 bands in 1982 alone, music was and still is my life!

Their sound is so great. Not the recording. But their sound. And their bassist is on fire, bit loud in the mix, that's why I am listened closer this time. Love it!

Saw them twice at Sheffield City Hall in the 80s. Had more hair then. Recognise the girl on the front row here from my uni course.!!
    They were a brilliant band.

Laserdisc hahaha. Had one, watched Poltergeist on it. Seen Saxon once at Newcastle City Hall in 1981. Denim and Leather tour. Loved them but went off them after Power and the Glory. Great to see Biff still churning it out.

I saw saxon on denim and leather at hammersmith 81- 82?- and the stage was a wall of 18" drivers to the roof. There was guys 6ft away, when i couldnt get 20ft away it was so loud. No h&s in those days, at school on monday and tuesday my ears were still ringing. 3 days later. Loudest gig i ever been to and i have been to many loud ones.

I once got to a Iron Maiden concert that was so bad (singer out of voice, sang a whole wrong verse, the band out of tempo half the time, not to mention the 3-guitars chaos...) I tried to get out after half an hour, but security wouldn't let me. I was forced to sit through and listen to the band butcher their own songs. The largemy drunk crowd, probably out of some quasi religious deafness did not seem to mind. So disappointed I never listened to the band since.
