- Windows XP is over 22 years old. Despite this, there are still programs being developed to make it usable in 2023. This video is going to be taking a look at how you can survive using Windows XP in 2023. This time, the video has been updated for 2023 with better browsers, antivirus and a program that can update your Windows XP system all the way until 2019.

I love windows xp so much
Me too! It's definitely one of the best versions alongside Windows 7.
@@EverythingeeB For real XP and 7 were the best
@@EverythingeeBand 10
Windows Vista Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows, 11 and Windows XP are all Microsoft’s greatest operating systems
@@Roccomeiners debatable with windows 11, every other OS listed is def better for their time
this shows that planned obsolescence is not always implemented 100%, this still survives!
It's not planned obsolescence, it's software not being supported 20+ years after its release. It is not feasible to expect developers to support millions of lines of code indefinitely.
Even open source operating systems don't support versions anywhere near as old as XP, and they have no profit incentive for you to be forced onto newer versions.
Bro you helped me get my old memories back thanks dude keep up the good work
Glad I could help!
You got a new subscriber man❤
Windows xp is the best operating system ever the music sound effects and the bliss wallpaper give you the 90s memories
This guy is so underrated, you have a brilliant and slick video here! It is a shame that you don't get the views. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Your comment really made my day :)
@@EverythingeeBis this available with XP mode on windows 7
One of the best operating system. Great for bringing my old laptop back to life. Installed a bit slow (probably because I burned a CD of it), but it worked great. Can work good for light weight tasks such as ripping CDs and browsing the web.
Yeah idk whats this about the danger of using xp? Like just connecting to youtube will lend me a virus?
@GGGmod1 No, there aren't many dangers as long as you know what you're doing. Don't click random links or download random stuff and you'll be fine. Although it's not ideal nowadays, it's still fine for older computers.
Ah so the usual we were supossed to be doing back in 2006 too then! haha i already booted up my old pc with an athlon 2 x2 245 and a gt 9600. Its got win 8 on it for now but ill soon put the good stuff in it. Ill play around like that for a while@@spaceKadz
Dude legacy update is like the best thing ever
Thanks for the new video!
Thank you for watching!
Won't lie, Thank you so much for putting the Snappy driver Installer here, didn't know it existed. Now I can finally download the right graphics driver for my laptop!
You are an absolute saint!
hello! Your video is helping me a lot to understand how to properly do this in my notebook. The video of your friend BokeeXD has been shut down, and I really needed to keep going with my repairing. Thank you for your content!
Thanks for this video. I just got an always-offline XP machine running, and I'll probably need to reference this in the coming weeks.
its not that hard to do i run winxp on my retro i7 3770 pc(in my case its a tripleboot winxp32 winxp 64bit aswell as windows 10 ) installing it with usb can be a bit tricky but oter than that its fine
@@gorgiandonov5900 I'm also on 3rd gen Intel, and it wasn't at all a plug-and-play experience. Had to track down multiple drivers to get the I/O working. I never could find drivers for USB 3. But at least I can play my retro game CDs.
thank you for all in one video
Thank you for the survival tips as I am making a Windows XP server that will power my house pretty much.
Glad I could help!
Really excited! I have a Windows XP virtual machine.
I used to use virtual machines before getting real hardware too
lol i actually bought an XP laptop about an hour before this was uploaded, thanks for this!
No problem! Great to hear my guide was of some use :)
Its a good thing I got the same exact iso on the site too
6:07 Nice Wallpaper😂
Lol thanks
Learning Windows XP is really updating my computer skills, thanks for sharing!
I have an XP machine in standalone mode. It has some good software on it and runs well still, so I keep it in standby mode. Thought for fun I might try to connect it as is. The browser info was most helpful. Other things too. I want to have a new Win 11 machine and our reliable Win 7 and this XP machine all able. Still use our phones more than computers these days, but serious development or writing, etc. still has to be done on a laptop/computer with a full keyboard. Thanks for the compact but comprehensive advice. It will be followed for my XP continuation. -mr
u forgot a VERY big thing... One Core Api. One Core Api is a thing that allows u to run programs in special compatability mode, like, for exampe, u wanna use an app that isnt supported on windows xp, so u enable compability mode with like, win7, win8.1,win10, its a very useful thing that will help u ALOT.
Thanks for your information, my friends has an old laptop, I tried to use windows 7 but it's too slow, so I have to use windows xp. Thanks for my friends that still has their key in back of laptop so I can use xp ASAP. and this guidance video is helpful
6:09 I use that Bliss LTT wallpaper on my main PC.
Thanks legend 🙏
No problem!
This helps not connecting to the internet all that much but am going to make a retro gaming pc
Windows XP was the OG 🙌🏻
It was faster than today’s Windows 11
Thanks for the tutorial !!
Depends on hardware. On HDDs it sucks, on SSDs it's lightning fast.
Thanks! I'm online now!
I've built a "nostalgia VM" with all of my childhood software on it with Windows XP Integral. Tried various browsers. Ultimately settled with Mypal's Pale Moon-based version. It's more outdated than the Quantum one, but it works great on my end. What sold me is the 99%-accurate Firefox 3 theme, heh.
Presently I have only one old windows laptop, after the previous (newer one) died and I switched to Mac out of frustration. The laptop is ThinkPad T61. I am basically forced to use this one for some applications (like old games not runnable on Macs at any way) or spend another $1000 for other decent windows laptop. So in short I will be using the XP machine for as long as it lasts. Writing this comment from it btw.
Do you have to use an iso set up to install xp onto the computer because I also have an exe file for setup.
Thanks for this man, waiting for your vista survival guide
Working on it!
Vista?! Can be serious man 🤔
1:44 gotch you, teşekkürler harika video.
Can you do a video on installation of 64bit windows xp
I have an old Intel Core 2 Duo PC that I may just setup with XP for nostalgia and shits. This video will definitively be useful so thanks!
Also maybe it's just me but with how bloated and genuinely anti-consumer modern Windows releases are getting I just personally feel like not bothering with more upgrades. Yeah sure XP and 7 are old and difficult to use nowadays and 10 will be joining them soon, but 11 is literally unusable on anything but modern PCs and is filled with privacy issues and stuff like ads.
Yeah I definitely agree with that statement. I'd rather take the time to learn how to use Linux than deal with Windows 11's bloat and ads
@@EverythingeeB Linux is not the answer for everyone. (1) My Thinkpad runs hotter on Linux--the keyboard feels uncomfortably warm. (2) I ran into a driver issue with my hardware. (3) Linux softwares are usually not as polished and can be buggy. (4) And most important is that my bank will only allow log-in if you are using Windows, Mac, or Chrome OS. So, Linux is no go for me.
@@aaabbb8777 I am far from a Linux Evangelist- I dislike it's split hair's type of nature and in the past has avoided it if I can. That being said, my dislike of the way Microsoft's decreasing UI quality and increase of ads and bs subscription-based services may at some point push me over. While Windows has its place in the near future for some productivity and gaming stuff, I think Ubuntu Linux is poised to start adopted more marketshare, even if it is just dualbooted with Windows. It's the most mainstream distro and I guarantee that you can just use a more lightweight fork of it and wouldn't those heat issues. On the topic of those heat issues- I would check your fan curve settings and see if you just need to turn them up a bit.
'Old' Core 2 duo? That is my newest pc. You don't have to change your computer just because M$ tells you to buy their latest, most resource hungry, most restrictive OS. I have one PC that I use for the Internet (now Q4os Trinity Linux) and most everything else uses XP (I bought a couple of second hand Core 2 duo's with 4gb ram just for XP.) I used to use Win7 for the Internet and it stays on that box as Win7 is good but given that XP can have the nice bits from Win7 without the annoyances, extra resources needed and without sacrificing XPs superb compatibility why woud you choose 7 over XP. The answer is that I think a lot of people have fallen for the UPGRADE (often to something worse) lie with PCs and 'phones.]
I've just installed XP professional in my 16 GB pendrive, after finish the installation it reboot and gave the BSOD 0x0000007B...I've set everything to IDE but still not booting up...specs Pentium G3250 4 RAM...was expecting see the configuration screen but it BSOD after the loading bar...😢
It's been almost 20 years
Anyone have a great resource on how to build a "high performance" windows XP machine for running old 3d applications from that era? I play a legitimate company endorsed private classic everquest server and ever since I upgraded my hardware to a 13th gen CPU/mobo I have been experiencing frequent client crashes. I've tried using windows xp compatibility mode. DGVOODOO2 drivers that simulate directx for that era, and other tricks, but I am still crashing. Open to any ideas on what type of hardware I'd look for to handle high performance for the windows xp 3d.
isn't it better to use snappy driver origin? Or does this new one not have bloatware?
I enjoyed it. XP was very good 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
4:39 the newest beta fixed that I think
Bro is this live bliss wallpaper from Wallpaper engine? May I get the link?
Is there end of support issues when you run windows xp in vmware or no i wanna make sure its safe
does spotifyxp need sse2? i have a dimension t500 with P III and 512mb of ram, and a voodoo 3dfx 3000 card.
How fo i install snappy driver i can't even get wifi to work on my vbox
My xp update stopped working in 2014 when I was in 6 grade now it is kinda laggy but hey it still works but I’m looking forward getting a new computer for work purpose due to like you said in the video window xp doesn’t have security anymore i do kinda miss windows xp I wish i could stay with it
4:16 Use One core API can use chrome up to 102 and firefox 54
Note: Discord doesn't working, you need other computer to pre installed copy chrome program files
All the software I write can still run on Windows XP. Sometimes I test it on a Windows XP VM to be sure.
I have a niche application that requires XP, this came in pretty handy :)
WinRAR 6.02 is the last version of the program with XP support
I tryed to install avast but it doesn't want to install completly. Avast seemed to load but it did not finish with any desktop shortcut or an icon in the system tray. I installed AVG, AVG scanned my sistem and everything is ok but now the taskbar shows the AVG icon with a red "X" through it and the message "AVG AntiVirus: WARNING, your system is UNSECURED."
AVG doesn't work on XP anymore. I used to use AVG on everything until it became too bloated. Then it stopped supporting XP. Try looking at Comodo and seeing if they still support XP. I use it for W7.
muito showw!! gratidao jesus te abençoe!!
Mal posso esperar para construir um PC com windows XP!
4:42 О, добро пожаловать в клуб, тот же bsod , что и у меня, даже создавал обращение на github, но ответа там не дождался. А ну и -"From Russia with LOVE" )
Great video ❤….where I can download Winamp for xp ?😢
What about One Core API thing?
how about hardware driver for the high performance pc?
I have a HP desktop but are you sure i should install XP
So it’s more secure if I use my laptops hotspot?
You around around XP whatever it can do, but please be senisible don't ever use an XP OS to your banking, or anything, but i recommend keeping it offline under any circustances.
Should i use the proffesional x64 or the x86 version? i5 3rd gen and r7 250 btw
Maybe try x86 with a PAE patch to recognize more RAM
The issue i had was the sound driver i could find nowhere and snappy fixed it
I miss both operating systems. XP & 7 👍🏿 where good guys.
it seems that the malwarebytes link is dead. guess ill just use avast.
There are legitimately Millions of People across the world that still use Windows XP, windows Vista and windows 7. These people are loyal users, but most people have moved on to more Modern operating systems. I may even start using windows 7 again in the future who knows, AVG is still updated so why not 😂😁
When I tried to use rufus to make my pendrive bootable, even with my disk in IDE it wouldn't boot, so I tried using winfromusb, it even starts and installs normally, but in the second part of the installation, it simply crashes and shows the screen blue talking about an error called framebuf or something like that
I don't know if im doing something wrong.
CD KEY not in disruption found how to install xp
Really nice video but only for historical purposes; if I were you I would put my energy and skills into a similar video about Windows 7 (a.k.a. the last really great OS by Micro$oft).
Nice video but like others, it fails to mention that you need to have a "valid" product key to activate until your Windows XP experience totally expires. It was about 30 days IIRC. You know, XP was not meant to be used forvever without activation like 10 and 11. Yes it is needed.
I cannot install it because it says the bios is not ACPI complaint. And it wants me to use F7 as a solution but it tells me to select Uniprocessor or Multiprocessor, And clicking on any results in the same error and I am scared to update my BIOS. My BIOS is Click BIOS 5. My Processor is AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics. Help?
I think that might be slightly too new unfortunately. Try on something older
CPU is too new you should just get the any 2010 CPUs. People who uses XP today still has the hardware and not planning to upgrade. There is no benefits using XP if you have Ryzen or newest Intel chip.
You must be a real die hard Microsoft fan to stick with such an old version of Windows. If you have a computer that is 15+ years old and still works normally despite everything, then the most sensible thing to do would be to put Puppy Linux or LXLE on it, because that way you have an operating system that is fast and with always up-to-date applications.
I uninstalled fire fox and tge internet explorer doesn't work so i cant get anything
If you say window XP hasn't been updated yet then, I'm just here to said that windows XP has reached the date of the end of it's support in many years ago.
Honestly this was so much easier than Windows 11
missing eula fix?
the best solution for me is install windows 11 mini os by delta, y use as a daily machine a hp g61 with a core 2 duo and 4 gb of ram, i upgraded the hard drive to a 256 gb ssd and now works much better on my operating system i use as a daily drive, (windows 11 mini os)
Next plan: install XP on the VM on my MacBook.
what version of java, when u installing spotify ?
Latest version for XP

The newest PC that will work is probably a Haswell era PC. After that it likely won't work. Use snappy driver installer to get drivers
what about Windows XP 64x edition
Can you make same video for vista
Absolutely! I will make it sometime next month (summer break = more content)

Yeah that is their default bitrate for free accounts
As a response, I never got XP to work with Rufus, but even if the first setup would load the GUI setup pard would probably not see the USB and can't copy rest of the files.
Another thing I need to mention is Avast and AVG are very terrible for 1GB RAM or less because they could use hundreds of megabytes just running in the background from my experience.
One more mention is that not every website works in Mypal 68 and it seemed quite a bit unreliable last time I used it, but I hope all the issues got patched.
Pin this comment if you want to.
Avast and AVG are quite terrible on low-end systems. I guess I should've mentioned an anti-virus that would work for lower-end systems (e.g. ClamWin)
@@EverythingeeB If you could run Avast and AVG in the background might just aswell use Windows 7
When I installed Windows XP with Rufus, it worked, but the system drive instead of being C: it was D:
@@nmac101 Makes no sense that it worked...
My machine installed Windows XP MCE 2004 off a flash drive. It may be your systems BIOS.
Now try installing Win98 :D
does anyone managed it to run discord ???
I would say i recommend regularly using windows xp. Its a fun os. But not in any way as a main computer. Like ur banking or shopping should never be on xp
As many people MISS the older Windows XP and in the comments "brings back memories" why hasn't Micro$oft jumped on the FAN SERVICE train like Hollywood....Make a new XPish looking OS with out the spying and the ads and bloat and profits will skyrocket.
They profit from ur data not from the sales
At this point might as well get Linux
what do I do if I can’t find drivers
You're using Snappy Driver Installer?
glad this isnt some crappy tts
Can you do one for Windows 98?
I'm not that familiar with 98 tbh
Any browser's that doesn't require sse2?
Don't think a computer that has SSE2 can even handle the modern web lol
@@EverythingeeB I would disagree with you there.
I'm running Windows XP pro on an old Dell Latitude C610 with has a Pentium 3 processor which does not have SSE2, You can use the Palemoon browser or the K-Meleon browser
Should I get x86 or x64?
x86 is more widely used so the chance of getting help when things didn't work is higher
