I used this batch size in each mixer. I have 6 quart mixers and this is a happy batch size.
1500 grams Baking Soda (Sam's Club)
1.5 TBSP Distilled Water (Grocery Store)
1.5 TBSP 91% Rubbing Alcohol (Grocery Store)
56 grams Coconut Milk Powder (Wholesale Supplies Plus)
56 grams Tapioca Starch (Amazon)
112 grams SLSa (Two Wild Hares)
15 grams Apricot Oil & Avocado Oil Mixture (Wholesale Supplies Plus)
35 grams Bramble Berry Fragrance (Bramble Berry)
10 grams 91% Rubbing Alcohol (Grocery Store)
12 grams Polysorbate 80 (Bramble Berry)
1000 grams Citric Acid Powder (Wholesale Supplies Plus)
Colors used:
Red 27 Lake (Nurture Soap)
Blue 1 Lake (Nurture Soap)
Purple Batch - About 1/4 tsp Red 27 Lake plus a pinch of Blue 1
Pink Batch - About 1/2 tsp Red Lake with a teeny bit of Blue 1
A little more info about ingredients:
*SLSa - Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is a sulfate free surfactant. It is derived from coconut and palm and is gentle and mild. It is Eco Certified. The coarse powder does not need to be ground but does have a larger particle size that helps to keep the powder less airborne than the fine. I only buy from Two Wild Hares as this is my preferred SLSa.
*Polysorbate 80 is an emulsifier. This helps to incorporate the oils and colors into the bath water without floating on the surface. This also helps to prevent micas/colors from leaving a ring on the tub...and you!
*You can buy your tapioca starch from your chosen supplier. I just buy mine from Anthony's Organic on Amazon in a pinch.
*You can use any light oil that you desire. You may need to tweak your recipe a little bit just depending.
*Pay attention the to IFRA usage rates for the fragrance you choose. You may need to adjust usage from the 48 grams.
*Citric Acid Powder - I buy mine from Wholesale Supplies Plus. It really is superior in my opinion. I've gotten some really chunky 'fine' citric from other suppliers. This makes the bath bomb look bumpy.
I find the powder is best.
*Colors - I like to use Lakes for multi-color batches. For solid color batches, I use Dyes (water soluble) mixed into the 2 TBSP water before adding to the baking soda. These can be sensitive to alcohol so the color may change slightly.
*The baggies I use are size 2.5 x 2 x 6. I bought mine at Nashville Wraps. I am looking for biodegradable cello in the same same.
B-3 BOMBER BATH BOMB PRESS - This press is amazing! I use the 2.5 inch sphere mold the most. In full disclosure, I was gifted this machine back in January of 2019. The exchange was to show the machine and how it works and to just enjoy it. That's it! I fulfilled all obligations a while ago! However, I love this machine and want to shout it from the roof tops! I also love supporting other small businesses, especially when the product is of great quality. I am very grateful and I feel this product is superbly made. Note that we purchased the air compressor, hoses, dials, additional molds, etc., on our own. Head over to bathbombmachine.com to learn more.
I HIGHLY recommend Amanda Aaron's book Fun in the Tub as a guide for creating various bath products.
Welcome back I have miss your video. Love the colors of the bath bomb. Glad to hear I am not the only one that play with the bath bombs.
Thank you Charlotte!
I love that it's part bubble bath-- the fizzing and colors of bath bombs are cool, but I'm all about the bubbles! 🛀

Thanks so much! YAY!
I haven’t made bath bombs since Christmas. I make what I call bubble soap bombs. It’s a bath bomb cupcake but the “frosting “ isn’t sugar it’s cold process soap. But my hands are bad and it’s a lot on them. So I just started doing bath melts/truffles. There so much easier I can make a lot at one time. Maybe in the future I can do this but until then it’s bath melts for me 😂 Lol
Those sound great! Yes, my hands used to hurt something fierce with the hand pressing. I am so thankful for this machine. Yesterday I made almost 60 bath bombs in a short period with no problems whatsoever.
Yes! You are back!!!!! 🥰😘😍
Woop woop! :-D
I swear I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. Thank you. Good to see you back 😊

Thank you so much for sharing your bath bomb wisdom! I adore that bb fragrance and I think it's perfect for bath bombs!
Thank you Mandy! I'm still learning for sure! I just spent the week reformulating. Bath bombs and I have always struggled so I'm happy to share what I can!
I’m a newbie to Bath Bombs, and had trouble getting my mix right. I just want to thank you‼️‼️💖💖 Your recipe helped me turn out my first perfect BB’s🥰🥰🥰
Thank you Katherine! That's awesome!
i just love watching you make bath bombs and soaps
Thank you!
Gorgeous🥰 I've missed your videos. Thank you
Thank you Jessica!
Gorgeous !
Thank you!
i love that mold
It's so cute!
Thank you for sharing the recipe ☺️
You are welcome! I'm working on a new formulation too. I may have to make a new video!
love em!!!
Thank you Courtney!
Another great video. 💖
Thank you Deborah!
Those are really lovely Holly! Love the soft colors too. I was looking at your list of suppliers which are a lot of the ones I use. Check out Scented Expressions Supplies on Facebook for a fabulous price on SLSA and other ingredients. I add Coco betaine in place of the distilled water as binder which will increase the foam and inserting small embed squares made of half BS and half CA with saturated colors to get the action up. They'll truck along the tub and leave a trail of color and lots of foam. Happy bombing!!
So glad you're back, I've missed watching!! 😉🇨🇦
Thank you Nancy! I will check out that company! So far, I've hesitated doing the embeds because of Lush's patent on a dual recipe bath bomb for the purpose of the added activity and color. I know everyone does it but I do try my best to respect patents and trademarks, especially since I am selling the end product.
Absolutely, I understand!! They are lovely even without embeds or anything else.
Beautiful bath bombs! Thanks for sharing!👍🏽❤❤ I love the bath bomb machine!👍🏽🙌🏽👏🏽💯
Than you Teresa! That machine is so amazing!
Wahoo! I got to see you in video again! Love these sweet heart bath bombs
Thank you Kimberly!
Missed your videos! And thank you for the explanation at the end. I have been using my bathbomb wrong! More bubbles the better. Also, i would love if your bath bombs had glitter or were more colorful in the tub.
Thank you Lydia! I took your request to heart and spent some time this week making more colorful bath bombs and one has glitter!
So cute! 💜 I loved my order I rec'd the other day, the soap sample you sent (think it's called apricot & honey) smells amazing! Another great release 😘
Thank you Teri! I'm so glad you love your order! YAY!
Lovely to see you again! Beautiful colour combo 💜💖 Oh by the way my house mate is getting a dobermann puppy in 1 month!! AAHHH!!!! he will be growing up with our retired greyhound
Thank you Emma! Oh gosh!! That is going to be sooooo fun! Feel free to contact me via the website and we can email if you need any advice or helpful hints. Dobermans are stubborn but so crazy amazing!
For me, bath bombs dont have to EXPLODE fireworks in my tub for me to find them worth my money. 😂 Even the subtle action is relaxing, calming, fun, and beneficial to the skin!
Thank you Alma! I'm so glad!
I'm still on the bath bomb struggle Bus lol. Great job and video!
Thank you Ms. Andrea! Bath bombs are hard! They are so finicky!
I am so jealous of your work space!
Nicole same
Thank you both! I am very blessed to have the space I have.
Living in KY, I get about the same humidity issues you do. I adore my bath bomb press, but haven't used it a lot because I get so frustrated with formulations! Thanks for recommending a book and for sharing your recipe! What a great starting off point! Maybe I'll use my bath bomb press more now (mine isn't the kind you have, but fantastic just the same! LOL) PS, how was you vacay away from YT? Hope you got some good "after the holidays" rest. We went on a cruise! It was fun to sit in 90* weather on a Mexican beach drinking margaritas and eating tacos! LOL Now back to work!🤣🤣
Ah yes, you sure would have the same humidity. I find that I got so used to working with humidity that I am having to relearn the process again in the winter. I was getting so frustrated until I realized my mix needed more moisture. LOL It seems the press needs a slightly different moisture level to work really well.
They are beautiful how you store them when they are dry please?
Thank you! I shrink wrap them once dried.
These bath bombs look & sound amazing! I wanted to know if the fizzy ingredients can be problematic/ irritating for sensitive skin & also is it possible to make bath bombs - without a press!?
Thanks! You can certainly make bath bombs without a press. Some people do have sensitivities to the ingredients.
@@moriversoap ThankU - So would U mind sharing with me how i could make a bath bomb without a press? - And is there a sensitive skin friendly option for bath bombs ? - would that be bath melts?
Oh wow! I so need something like this! I always avoided Bath Bombs because I broke my wrist when I was younger, so putting a lot of pressure on my wrist constantly, by trying to squeeze the 2 sides together in a normal circle Mould, would really hurt my wrist a lot. This would allow me to finally make Bath Bombs, without damaging or hurting my wrist!
I know you mentioned that you were Gifted this, but do you mind if I ask where I would find a machine like this, please?
Theyre like $1600. Google b3 bath bomber press.
@@STSbestfriends Yikes! 😱 Ok, yep! I won't be able to do Bath Bombs anytime soon for quite a while then. Thank you for answering!
I totally understand that! I didn't make bath bombs because it made my wrists hurt too much. The machine is indeed a B-3 Bomber from bathbombmachine.com. It is a business investment. It speeds up the work and more bath bombs are able to be produced quickly and consistently. It did work out nicely for me and I am thankful. I have purchased several molds since. I just love the machine!
@@moriversoap Thanks! I searched it after Sarah's comment and found that Website. You're right, it's a Business Investment, and 1 I plan to work towards. Unfortunately, it's not something I can afford right away, anytime soon. Hopefully 1 of these days! 🥰
Can I ask where you got your bath bomb press from. I make bath and body products and have been looking for a press. Thank you
She says bathbombmachine.com
Yep, right as I introduce the machine I say where I got it from. It is the B-3 Bomber from bathbombmachine.com. You can also check out the video description for more helpful links.
Holly, thank you for sharing your recipe. Who is your supplier for the water soluble dyes. Also, is the water amount 1.5 Tbspn or 2? Thank you:-)
Thank you Cathy! Sorry about the confusion on the water. I used 1.5 TBSPS on that particular one. I had just come from making a bigger batch and had that stuck in my head. That being said, it may vary for you depending on your humidity levels. I get my dyes from Nurture Soap. :-)
My dream is to make bath bombs. I wish I could afford this machine!!! I wanna try soaps too but I’m scared of lye solution 🤣
They are so fun! The machine would be a business investment and totally worth it. Don't be scared of lye either...just handle it properly with the proper safety attire and you should be just fine.
Hey, can i ask you a question? My bath bomb has this kinda weird dotted orange spot after a week. I store it in a airtight container & single pack with shrink wrap. What's caused this condition?
Hmm...I don't think I've ever seen it. Did you use milk powder? Did you use a colorant that could have a spot?
@@moriversoap no i didn't use milk powder & surprisingly the one that had this condition is the one that doesnt have any colorant, so just pure white.
I google it for a while, & someone said that maybe the humidity, i guess i have to invest in dehumidifier
I noticed you poured all the water in at one time . Does it not cause it to fizz.
When I added the water, it was just the baking soda. The citric was added at the end so no worry about fizzing until then.
I.. am I going crazy? I've got the strongest sense of deja vu. I knew the scent, colours, I even remember you explaining the press... dear god I think I've finally lost all my marbles... either way, they're beautiful!
Haha that's funny! Maybe you watched it on Instagram or Facebook? I put up a different version there. Thank you!
I'm so late to this party, but I have a question about the coconut milk powder. I'm in the UK and there are so many brands of coconut milk powder available, but each seems to have different ingredients. Would you let me know please what exactly are the ingredients in your coconut milk powder?
Thank you.
Hi Rachel! I replied on your newest comment.
Hi, would this receipe work in Humid climate? I'm in Houston Texas.
It's going to vary for you. I live in a humid area but I am always tweaking my recipe just a little bit too. It's a day by day situation. Haha!
Is this recipe accurate for 50% humidity
I would back off the liquid a bit. You can always add a bit more in.
Why are you adding water at the beginning?
It helps to bind the bath bombs without doing a lot of spraying later. I have the best luck with water. Also, this is where I would add water soluble dyes if I had chosen to do that this time.
