Wuya was a villain I wanted to win because she didn't seem that bad lmao She kept her end of the bargain and overall seemed cool outside of the taking over the world thing. It kinda seemed like she was just chilling so long as everyone swore loyalty to her.
For all we know. Wuya could have made the world a more lawful place. ...Lawful Evil, But lawful nonetheless. She could have been a hard and fair dictator who fights against corruption at all levels of government. Making sure everybody signs a blood pack before any deals are carried out. Force everyone to think twice before doing something that might screw somebody else over.

I like how Wuya acts very motherly to Raimondo. Offering him anything he wants out of gratitude for restoring her human form. She didn't even screw him over like most supervillains do in TV Shows. It's rare and interesting when supervillains do this kind of thing. Jack Spicer didn't get this kind of special treatment because, to her, he was a gnat.
To this day I'm still kinda surprised that Wuya actually upheld her end of the bargain with Raimundo, most other villains would've screwed him over but she didn't. Maybe she felt something for him? Also there's that episode where we see Raimundo's dreams and in his dream we see Kimiko indicating that he has a crush on her but in the blink of an eye she turns into Wuya hinting at Raimundo probably having some kind of feelings for her, unfortunately nothing was done with that.

She gave him everything she said she would and didn't plot against him. She cries out to him to help her but to her her horror she realizes that he’s not looking down on her but instead the puzzle box! She cries out louder “please raimundo help me!” He cannot hear her. The vision in the sky is fading but she sees that he’s rejoined the other monks. Her fear, and horror soon turns to boiling rage. Her vitriol burns hotter than the flames now charring her flesh. “Raimundo…” she hisses through gritted razor sharp teeth. “…yoooouuuuu did this to me….” Blood pours from her mouth as she bites her cheek and lips. “ I’ll get you for this! Do you hear me raimundo?! You traitorous little SH!T !! I’m GOING TO GET YOU NOMATTERWHAT!!!!!!!!!!!”

Looking back at it. Raimundo and Wuya definitely had feelings for each other. This wasn't just any mother son relationship. Raimundo fell for Wuya the moment he found out that she treated him better than the Xiaolin monks, and Wuya fell for Raimundo for restoring her body. Raimundo was practically more competent than Jack. But not as harsh or violent as Chase Young. For her, Raimundo was probably the only one who appreciated her presence. Never calling her old, ugly, smelly ect. He was practically just right. The partner she never had. This shows in the kindness she gives him compared to anyone else she's been stuck to. If he never betrayed her, eventually I can see them getting together. We see evidence for this with Raimundo still dreaming about Wuya alongside Kimiko literally. Wuya turning back into a ghost must of been humiliating for her. So any future plans is practically gone out window for them. Wuya for once in her life let herself become vulnerable and lost. Raimundo to some extent definitely still thinks about her at times it seems. It's a strange potential pair this show would of done if this were more adult oriented. Or at least not a kid's show.

I honestly like a villainess who sticks to their word. The only two I can name off the top of my head are Wuya and Roodaka from Web of Shadows. I especially love that "I'm listening" moment Raimundo shares with Vakama where the villainess has his full attention- and corrupted intentions.

As a kid i never forgave Raymondo for this. Bro switched up with minimal provocation for completely selfish reasons and faced basically no consequences for it. When omi turned evil at least he was corrupted and groomed into it. Ray just turned bas on a whim and turned back on a whim. You can never trust someone like that.

I agree I wish the writer would’ve delved deeper into Rai being on the Haylin and him actually being trained by Wuya, and don’t forget Rai also whooped the rest of the Shaolin when he turned evil Also Chase doesn’t choose Rai because Raimundo is more like Monk Guan while Omi is exactly like Chase, so you see he knows how to challenge Omi and how to make him stronger the same way Monk Guan knows how to train and challenge Raimundo, as Chase and Guan were best friends but ultimate rivals it’s the same way between Omi and Rai and I love that dynamic because when Rai is chosen over Omi he doesn’t turn evil, he respects his friend
I could be reading too much into this but I'm wondering if the reason Wuya treated Rai so well isn't just that he was very competent and easy to get along with, but perhaps she saw something of a kindred spirit in him? Someone who was forced into a role they didn't ask for but did it anyways to serve a cause bigger than themself, but over time the endless pressure and constant demands of her job just became too much to bear and eventually something happened that acted as the straw that broke the camel's back. Being the "hero" just wasn't worth it anymore. She and Dashi came to blows and because history is typically written by the winners, Wuya goes down as the villain and Dashi as the hero, when for all we know the truth could be far less black and white than that. And while Wuya did play off of Raimundo's desires and vices a tad, she never betrayed him and always treated him as an equal. Gave him the respect and appreciation he didn't feel he was getting. I mean, once she was alive again and had all her powers she could've easily just poofed him out of existence, but she didn't. Heck, she seemed to genuinely enjoy being with him and was even fine with keeping the other Monks alive as long they swore their loyalty to her. Yes, one could argue this was all part of the act to keep him on her side but you could also argue she did genuinely care and saw him as an equal partner, possibly even one of her only real friends. Perhaps even sympathized on some level with what he had endured. I mean, let's be real here. The life of a monk isn't meant for just anyone. It's an incredibly demanding path to follow, especially if you start it at a young age, now add in the fact you're responsible for risking your life to gather magical artifacts that could cause calamities in the wrong hands, and you've got a position that I'm pretty sure even the most hardened adults would struggle with so it's an amazing feat that Rai was able to do so for as long as he did. Yes, helping Wuya conquer the world was going a step too far, but if I was a teenager forced to give up his old life and everything he valued to take up TWO incredibly demanding, even kinda thankless, roles and just being expected to deal with it...not sure how well my mental stability would hold up, especially if I risked my life to save my mentor, only for him to act like an ungrateful prick who basically punishes me for the attempted rescue, and then the self-proclaimed "Chosen One" rubs his new status in my face... Yeah, can't say I wouldn't snap a little at that point.

Looking back at it. Raimundo and Wuya definitely had feelings for each other. This wasn't just any mother son relationship. Raimundo fell for Wuya the moment he found out that she treated him better than the Xiaolin monks, and Wuya fell for Raimundo for restoring her body.
Raimundo was practically more competent than Jack. But not as harsh or violent as Chase Young. For her, Raimundo was probably the only one who appreciated her presence. Never calling her old, ugly, smelly ect. He was practically just right. The partner she never had. This shows in the kindness she gives him compared to anyone else she's been stuck to.
If he never betrayed her, eventually I can see them getting together. We see evidence for this with Raimundo still dreaming about Wuya alongside Kimiko literally. Wuya turning back into a ghost must of been humiliating for her. So any future plans is practically gone out window for them. Wuya for once in her life let herself become vulnerable and lost.
Raimundo to some extent definitely still thinks about her at times it seems. It's a strange potential pair this show would of done if this were more adult oriented. Or at least not a kid's show.

I honestly like a villainess who sticks to their word. The only two I can name off the top of my head are Wuya and Roodaka from Web of Shadows. I especially love that "I'm listening" moment Raimundo shares with Vakama where the villainess has his full attention- and corrupted intentions.

As a kid i never forgave Raymondo for this. Bro switched up with minimal provocation for completely selfish reasons and faced basically no consequences for it. When omi turned evil at least he was corrupted and groomed into it. Ray just turned bas on a whim and turned back on a whim. You can never trust someone like that.

I wish Raimundo remain on the dark side because I really wish that the team know what important teammate lost. I don't blame Raimundo betrayed them. I mean he is rebellion, troublemaker and lazy but when comes his team win and make good plans. In the end of this show Raimundo could beat Wuya Chase Guan and Hannibal all alone.

I agree I wish the writer would’ve delved deeper into Rai being on the Haylin and him actually being trained by Wuya, and don’t forget Rai also whooped the rest of the Shaolin when he turned evil
Also Chase doesn’t choose Rai because Raimundo is more like Monk Guan while Omi is exactly like Chase, so you see he knows how to challenge Omi and how to make him stronger the same way Monk Guan knows how to train and challenge Raimundo, as Chase and Guan were best friends but ultimate rivals it’s the same way between Omi and Rai and I love that dynamic because when Rai is chosen over Omi he doesn’t turn evil, he respects his friend
I could be reading too much into this but I'm wondering if the reason Wuya treated Rai so well isn't just that he was very competent and easy to get along with, but perhaps she saw something of a kindred spirit in him? Someone who was forced into a role they didn't ask for but did it anyways to serve a cause bigger than themself, but over time the endless pressure and constant demands of her job just became too much to bear and eventually something happened that acted as the straw that broke the camel's back. Being the "hero" just wasn't worth it anymore. She and Dashi came to blows and because history is typically written by the winners, Wuya goes down as the villain and Dashi as the hero, when for all we know the truth could be far less black and white than that.
And while Wuya did play off of Raimundo's desires and vices a tad, she never betrayed him and always treated him as an equal. Gave him the respect and appreciation he didn't feel he was getting. I mean, once she was alive again and had all her powers she could've easily just poofed him out of existence, but she didn't. Heck, she seemed to genuinely enjoy being with him and was even fine with keeping the other Monks alive as long they swore their loyalty to her. Yes, one could argue this was all part of the act to keep him on her side but you could also argue she did genuinely care and saw him as an equal partner, possibly even one of her only real friends. Perhaps even sympathized on some level with what he had endured.
I mean, let's be real here. The life of a monk isn't meant for just anyone. It's an incredibly demanding path to follow, especially if you start it at a young age, now add in the fact you're responsible for risking your life to gather magical artifacts that could cause calamities in the wrong hands, and you've got a position that I'm pretty sure even the most hardened adults would struggle with so it's an amazing feat that Rai was able to do so for as long as he did. Yes, helping Wuya conquer the world was going a step too far, but if I was a teenager forced to give up his old life and everything he valued to take up TWO incredibly demanding, even kinda thankless, roles and just being expected to deal with it...not sure how well my mental stability would hold up, especially if I risked my life to save my mentor, only for him to act like an ungrateful prick who basically punishes me for the attempted rescue, and then the self-proclaimed "Chosen One" rubs his new status in my face...
Yeah, can't say I wouldn't snap a little at that point.
