  • I get asked these questions all the time: How do I rig the fp? What SSD do I use? What cage do I use? What adapter do I use? ... The reality is, I bought the little fp because of how minimalist it is, but if I absolutely had to build this thing into a monster rig, this is what I would do.

    Put a thermal pad between the SSD and metal plate so that it dissipates heat faster and stays cooler.

    • @TheBebelehaut
      @TheBebelehaut Před rokem +1

      Yep. Image Quality because of CinemaDNG. And "small scale" i.e. size, means you can place this camera just about anywhere. In a closet, a drawer, Fridge, you name it, for any angled shots impossible or hard to do with big cameras. You could also put it on a drone... but that's another story.

    Hey there ... really enjoying your videos...thanks for that ;)
    about the chriping noise you have with the SSD... take the copper plate out and put some thermal compound pads on it ... on both sides if you want... since the SSD case is made out of metal, it will dissaped the heat out of the ssd (controller chip and Ram chips)... downside maybe is, that the case gets realy hot and will be uncomfortable, or you can get burned ... NVME-SSD's can get to 70-90°C (158-194°F)

I am experiencing a problem with the audio noise and chirping of this system. I peeled off the paste, tried writing without the cover, but the sounds remain. What advice would you give me. Great video, use sort of the same gear for my Sigma. I'm going to try out the foam-removal thing. Anyhow, I've used the dummy battery option, but here in Europe we are pushed towards a strange 2.8x4.5 something DC output, so we've solved it with a strange re-route with a USB-C adapter delivering 8.4 volt. On the other hand there are som great power bank solutions with 10kmAh. (Only 178g) Anyhow, a question. I'm thinking of using a trigger to half-press the shutter button in cinemode to "Focus" temporarily. The Sigma CR-41 didn't work in cinemode. Have you had thoughts about this? Any experiences? JJC has two trigger products that I haven't tried out. 🤔

    followed your recommendations regarding the Nicey rig handle/EVF-11 and the dark power SSD holder with SSD Caddy. Because the EVF attaches to the camera body first by a thumb screw and then the Dark power attaches to the EVF by another thumb screw, I often find that the stress of use causes the EVF to come loose from the camera body causing the camera to lose the connection to the SSD. I am afraid to use a camera strap because one side would have to be connected to the SSD Holder I wish there was some kind of baseplate to secure both the EVF and the Dark Power to the camera body. Maybe if I get the small rig cage I can figure out a way to safety Both the EVF and SSD for a second point of connection to the body. Any body experience this issue or have solutions to this issue?
    -- Otherwise I love the SSD holder and caddy from dark power! Took under two weeks to receive via AliExpress.
