Honestly if the officiating had been consistent (whether consistently harsher or consistently more lax) the game likely would have been completely different (and before people say "cope", I still think the Leafs would have lost. That being said, it did feel like the refs were calling the Bs for more borderline calls that typically don't get called during this time of the year. Missed/biased calls aside, the Leafs did NOTHING with their PPs and that's the issue. They had 5 powerplays! That's 10 minutes, HALF A PERIOD, worth of man advantage and did absolutely nothing with it. That's what Leafs fans should be the most upset about.

The Leafs were given 5 penalties with alot of those calls being subjective. Of Boston's 3 penalties one was a delay of game and is automatic. One was called which cancelled out a Leafs PP and the final one was at a really bad time for the Leafs, but they also had the whole game and 3 full power plays to 1 functional Boston powerplay by the time it came down to 1 min left. Officiating cannot be blamed. Also that was 100% a dive by Bertuzzi. No matter how I look at it thats not a natural trip especially for people moving at slow speeds because theyve been grappling for 15 seconds.

The B's may need to try that. Yes, they failed with their goalie strategy last year, but they shouldn't overcorrect the mistake. Swayman is hot right now. Ride him. And when he cools off (aka, has a loss), then put in Ullmark and let him ride until he loses, and so on.

I don’t know how Marchand got that catch and release goal from the corner over the goalies shoulder , the referee absolutely spun out of the corner when he saw Marshie wide open to screen his pass and actually had to jump in the air so the pass didn’t hit his skates ( before you disagree with me watch all the camera angles … it absolutely happened )

Bertuzzi sold the game for the leafs. The first goal he was tied up with Marchy. The second goal he took the penalty to give us the power play. The empty net he he hits the player who doesn’t have the puck and Marchy scores in the empty net. Bert allowed 3 of our goals. Let’s gooo B’s! 🏆🐻

What the hell is it gonna take for people to realize we need to get rid of Mitch Marner who has been a ghost in every playoff series. Sure he’s a great playmaker in the regular season, but if he can’t perform in the playoffs what’s the point? I’ve said it for two years now blow this team up, but all I did was get hate. Genuine question to leafs fans, assuming most of you played puck growing up too, would you rather have John Tavares or Brad Marchand leading your team. Both have similar numbers, both have made captain or assistant most years in NHL, Both widely respected by their franchises and fans, all star appearances, etc. However very different reputation on the ice, Im sure we all know what Im referring to, so in all seriousness, Who would you rather have leading your team in a 7 game playoff series? Genuinely interested in your view.
Hockey purists, save it with the "Marchands a dirty player". 134 points in 149 playoff games vs 45 pts in 58 playoff games for tavares. Theres obviously more stats to look through, I personally think the leafs have the more talented and skilled team and have for many years of the rivalry but boston usually has 4 solid lines, play a very physical game, and they do a good job eliminating skill players' ability to score. Maybe its just a system thing, Tavares is relatively new to the leafs while marchand has spent his entire career with the B's. I always loved Tavares on the Islanders, but I dont think he reached his full potential in the NHL, but what do you think? How do leafs fans view it? Again, genuinely curious.

They didn't lose because of missed calls, they lost because they can't score. There's over 40 million in four forwards, fucking score. Blame the opposing goalie for being good all you want, you're not scoring so you're not winning. 2 goals max in what, 6 of your last 7 playoff games? That's why they're losing in the playoffs yet again

  • @insertgenericusernamehere2402

Next game put reaves on the same line at a faceoff. Have reaves drop the mitts with marchand even if he doesnt want to get the point across if you're gonna take liberties we will too its not like Reaves contributes much anyway, have him take a pp sure. But leafs aren't terrible on the PK. But no the leafs have no spine and won't do anything to quell him in the next game.
