Synopsis:

We all 90's kids grew up watching these movies. Sucha simple storyline but beautifully depicted by rani and vivek. I wish vivek ko aur chances mile hotey because he wasn't that bad an actor. If we compare both songs, I would say Tamil one is more energetic.
Two major differences was direction and cinematography.
Long scenes with performance of Shalini made Tamil catchy where as in Hindi, there is a space restriction.
Entry of Vivek scene was able to show the household but
most time camera was medium shot with little movement so it seems like
they are dancing in stage not in an open space.
Extras behave like they were
forced to attend the marriage.
Song and Dance of Rani is good.

The reason this movie is still one of my favorite movies is because of all the songs, the chemistry between Rani and Vivek and the simple but heart touching story. I love everything about this movie!
My favorite actress is Kajol but I just had a discussion with my husband the other day that I think Rani is the best in terms of acting. Her range of roles and her perfect execution of each role without making it too over the top or too unbelievable really plays into my opinion. Also her ability to bring out the best side of her opposite always amazed me. Like she has chemistry with all the actors she was opposite to. I grew up during one of the best eras of bollywood and it wasn't appreciated enough. I've never seen Saathiya but I think it's time I do lol

I went ahead and read Shalini's Wikipedia about why she quit acting etc and R Madhavan is one actor who I like from his other movies like 3 idiots, Ram ji London wale, Tanu Weds Many etc. They were both nice in Tamil version. So for me, Rani and Vivek remain the best for Saathiya. 😍
