Brembo RCS19 and RCS16 Master Cylinder | Longterm Review [My Experience]

  • This one is a long one and hopefully you’ll find this video insightful! This is my Long Term Review of the Brembo RCS Universal Master Cylinders after installing and riding with them for several months. It’s not a quick simple installation but completely worth it. You’ll have full adjustability, amazing lever feel and will change the look of your handlebar for the better. Both Brembo RCS 16 and 19s are modular incase you need to replace parts. They DO NOT, include the brake and clutch fluid tanks, tygon tubing and a banjo pressure swtich. All components can be found on the www.motovation... site. Lastly, in some cases, you might need to swap out your steel breaded brake lines. Contact the team in the link below if you have any questions.

I had to dig deep through several HDs to find footage for this one. The Longterm reviews are quickly becoming my favorite. After the excitement, my opinion is usually clear about the product. Hope you all enjoy and let us know if you’d like to see the step-by-step installation without me freaking out parts. Lol

I'd love to see detail installation video. Right now, my biggest concern is existing brake hose - if it can be reused as is, or if I need to change the fitting or if I need to change whole whose between master cylinder and ABS unit.

Mike I love how everything on your monster has a real purpose. You hand picked every single mod to the tee. Clearly a dope looking unique monster. Still would like to see an updated walk around. 🔥🔥

Great to hear the brake master cylinder made a difference to you. I have a monster similar to yours and I love the stock brake feel as is. My Honda cb650r has spongy brakes and I’m trying to improve it by installing an aftermarket brake master cylinder. Aiming for Frando or Nissin (cos brembos has a high chance of getting stolen). Thanks for sharing your feedback. Now I have to figure out whether i need a 16mm or 19mm for my bike.

Denny King This install is not for the faint of hearts. Anything that requires snipping cables makes me nervous. That entire process was a growing experience. Soldering, vacuum sealing the wires and heat shrink wrapping is an adventure in its self. I learned a lot about the bike and myself.

I just installed brembo rcs 19 on my 2020 zx6r. Was not a plug and play but I did not cut any wires coming from the bike. I took the old swith and removed the two prongs that go into the connector coming from the bike and soldered those prongs to the wires coming from brembo switch. Plugged them and taped with electrical tape to secure. Now if I ever need to go back to stock I can just buy a new oem switch and reinstall.

Nice vid. I swapped out the Maguro clutch master on my 1290 Super Duke for the same as you mention. Nice quality feel, and much superior. KTM had to do some work on the ECU for the swap.

Pure sales hype. Took ten minutes to get to something of value. Then the least amount of time spent on probably the most important feature, the piston actuation adjustment. How does the 16-18 change work? Does 16 provide more pressure or does 18? Which does what? This is important to someone who needs higher pressure with lower grip strength while moving enough fluid to actuate the brakes.
How about getting a better explanation of how everything actually functions for those who need that information? Just not a good informative video on the actual part, but by God we know he would have done this first if done over. We know he thinks it's worth it, but nothing about the technical aspect of why it is so good. That was what I needed to know - how it all functions so I know if it will do what the rider wants.
I get the impression this master cylinder could provide the pressure at the lever that would normally take two different master cylinders, that the 16 setting provides the braking feel of a different size master cylinder than the 18 does. If so, which is which and why? This may be the reason to buy this product, to get the performance of a smaller piston master cylinder while being able to move more fluid to get the braking pressure needed.

How exactly do you figure out which master cylinder works well with your calipers? And what would a bad combination look like? Is it possible to exceed the brake pressure your calipers can handle? I'm thinking of upgrading, but I have Nissin calipers and am not sure where to start.

I am not trying to hate on you but, i find it strange that you are telling people to buy all these different pieces required for the brembo master cylinders.
When you buy brembo products, no matter which master cylinder, the brake fluid reservoir, the bracket etc is all included within the box itself.
Maybe from you are, it’s different, but for the same price Everything is included within the same box from brembo itself, all brembo products.

I know this is an older video but on the single banjo bolt pressure switch there's just two black wires. How do you know which is which? Or does it matter? Which goes to the blue wire and which goes to the black wire on the oem switch? This is for my rcs 16 clutch master cylinder.

hey, why does the bike need to be on when bleeding the brakes? The fluid is still going through the ABS system, or isn't it? Does it have something like a chamber or something that only can be filled up when the ABS module is runing? Does the bike has to be running or just On in the ignition? I'm changing everything on my bike, from master cylinders, brake hoses and brake calipers and i'm doing it myself.
That's some good info in this video to help us getting things done right, if you could explain ABS system part, I would really appreciate!

    • @kseepersad2380
      @kseepersad2380 Před 3 lety

You have to have the bike on to get the ABS valve body to allow the new fluid into it. Normally on cars or trucks they'd hook it up to a scanner and have the scanner talk to the ECM to actuate the ABS system (valve body)....you can trick the ABS system into activation by simulating an ABS event by having the drive wheel up off the ground and maybe the front as well and make them spin at different speeds; so if you put the bike into gear while its up in the air and the drive tire is spinning and you spin the front tire as fast as you can by hand it makes the ECM think the bike is in the middle of a tire spin event and will turn the ABS system on, new fluid will flow into it and flush or push air out of it as well.
