    Regards from Serbia, I just bought V4 2018 from local Ducati dealer, it was demo bike, and I am waiting for the better weather conditions to ride. Yours review is very usefull and honest. In my garage I have also ducati supersport s 2017 and it is great bike, easy to ride and also attractive. With all the flaws that Ducati has, it is a unique, immediately recognizable and has its own personality.

    I love my V4s, as you said to remove the passenger left peg I damaged the screw and hat to take it to the dealer for service and ask them to please remove it, the mirrors are really a pain in the .... specially bc are very long and dont fold, for me you missed the engine heats and no gas gauge, the rest is a dream bike!!!

    Stock mirrors were replaced with bar ends. Stock were nearly useless anyway. Agree with your discussion points and would add;
    1. Heat, pumps heat to your nether regions (inner thighs) not good for San Diego where I live.
    2. Kickstand bobbin, nearly impossible to find almost always requires you to look down to locate it.
    On the good side I really like the self-cancelling turn signals. Very convenient.
    Good review.

    Good vids .
    I have a 2019, love it.did buy the 2020 rear linkage and shock spring and drop the forks through the yokes(4mm) to convert to 2020 geometry.
    helps the bike greatly on corner exit, is relatively cheap and simple to do

      I don’t know, I like the 2018-19 model over the 2020 version. 2020 looks like a budget V4R but I hate how they made the V2 look like the 2018-19 V4 personally 😑 that made me upset with my V4S lol

      I broke my mirror twice! SOB! Fortunately, the second time broke in such a way that allowed me to super glue it and I wrapped it with some heavy duty Gorilla tape. 😎 I have the 1st year production model V4, and there have been more than a dozen Ducati recalls on it thus far. What is that all about???

      Dont be upset i have a 20 V4S and the previous 18 and 19 i find to be more visually stunning and beautiful than the 20. Add to that the head mitigation they did for the 20 actually made it WORSE. So be happy you have a prettier, cooler, and more manic version which id prefer. I bought the 20 never having rode it only buying it because of those heat mitigation fixes they did and i actually like the wings. Low and behold when i bought it and rode it, i was FUCKING HOTTTT! Seriously hot man so hot i actually had to stop and get off because it was burning my skin. When i took my moto jeans off my legs were bright red matching the color of the bike. Add to that i get tapped out on power because they dummed down the throttle. Just be happy you got the better end of that stick.

    I have a v4s. Totally agree with your points. Ducati bring out new models far to quickly. I had an 1098 and they brought out the 1198 way to quick. Still cant believe for the price there's no fuel gauge!

    • @letsreviewit8925
      @letsreviewit8925  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for watching, its frustrating - I realise they need to sell bikes but potentially at the cost of retaining their existing customers. Perhaps a 2019 - 2020 upgrade kit could come out which includes the new fairings and wings. Then again it would probably cost thousands. We love the bike, just silly things let the whole experience down.

    My mirror also broke, i agree with black trim texture. Hard to clean. The last thing is almost no clear coat and tank plus plastics scratch too easily. Im going to use ceramic coating and clear wrap

    Hi, do you know what I fully agree about the rear wheel nut. Both my Diavel and Panigale 1199 are exactly the same, even my MV F4 which has a right handed thread. The bloody nut can cause wars trying to get the things of, extension bars break or even bend😳
    How the hell do the become so tight even though they are not torqued up that tight.
    I invested in a 550lbs torque gun on a 50ltr compressor. Now that moves the nut in an instant. So no more large 55mm socket falling onto your wheel lip 😭

    • @grahamsmith2022
      @grahamsmith2022 Před 4 lety

      It's the exact same spindle and nut as on the 1198 family as well.

    I love my S only thing I found is the tank starts to scratch easily were ther inner thigh sits , RG racing protector installed but they need better adhesive. 2nd the cluster screen is easy to scratch. Need to put a p rft protector on it. Other than thst it awsome.

    I have a 2015 ducati panigale r. Figure it's already depreciated a bit. The rear wheel nut is bad enough the mechanic at the shop slipped and nicked the wheel. Not happy about that.

    Drawbacks of my panigale v4s are: 1- this bike has no anti stoppie system, it has no fuel gauge and did stop in middle of the road with me as well with my coowners, in summer it’s like a dragon(dealer says temp is normal on it) so it is useless in the summer, lastly seat must me less hard

    I've just traded my beloved 1198 for a 2018 V4S with very low milage,on my first ride,3 miles into it,most of which was 30mph town traffic,it stranded me at the road side,it's back at the dealer now,I've been riding on the road since I was 17 years old in 1992,125 and upwards,I've had many bikes and the only time I've been stranded at the road side was on a 1990 ZX10 that had exploded it's engine,(it did have 35,000 miles on it),and I've ridden "fragile" two strokes KR1,KR1S,RGV 250(2),RG500,RD350YVPS(2),NS400,TZR 250,TDR250,none of those broke down!

    OMG MY MIRROR BROKE TOO!!!! 2 days after taking home from the dealer! 2020 V4S and they almost made me pay for it but finally they did cover it. It was missing a bolt on the lower fairing and they did make me pay 5.43 for a new bolt. Bastards. And everything you spoke about is TRUUUUUE! Dont be fooled by Ducati telling you the 2020 is not as hot as the previous. Its not. I tested the 18 and 19 and it would only cook you at a stop. The 20 is ok at a stop now, but it will cook you on the fly. Meaning...the faster you ride the hotter it gets spitting hotter and hotter air on your legs. So much so i had to buy some heat fabric and sewed it into my moto jeans. That only worked 50% so i add to that putting on work out tights under my moto jeans and thats good. You can feel the heat but its not intolerable. Just there. Lastly they dumbed down the throttle for the 20 to make it "more accessible to more riders" What BS. OK if your not a balls to the wall rider like me, who bolts through traffic at 180, does track days, bla bla bla you probably wont be upset. But i actually liked that manic nature of the 18 and 19 and those were NON S! I only bought the 20 because of the heat mitigation they did which honestly made it worse add to that if your like me you find yourself tapped out on throttle just clicking it for more...AGH. So i actually love the bike but there are some major issues and like you say i paid 28k for this thing, thats a lot of bull shit to sweep under the rug for 28k I miss my 18 Aprilia RSV4 and frankly should have waited for the 20 RSV4 1100 Factory. What ever. It is what it is. A ferociously hot and fast steed deep with "issues" that amount to a lot of character imbued to it. And yea its full of character, and still its the most fun to get on of all the bikes ive owned. Sure it has issues but the smiles per mile (yea i hate that phrase too but its true) are the most of any machine ive been on. Why i dunno maybe its because of all that bs i dunno but its an adventure getting on it like if it were a real dragon. Ive named him "FireBall"

      Haha, I’ve purchased some Kevlar materials and plan to add as additional layer to riding jeans. I will also install carbon fiber frame covers. In 25C weather condition, the heat is not intolerable.

    1 - Mirror
    2 - kick stand at awkward placement and too short
    3 - too hot under seat on traffic
    4 - No Aftermarket Fairing Slider that not mount on the magnesium engine case
    5 - Desmo Tax is insane 😱🤦🏻‍♂️
    6 - Batteries life is short
    7 - Low mpg range is ok but without fuel gauge is annoying
    8 - New models out every 6 months and depreciation drop faster than fly
    But the looks , ride and power is amazing and no other bikes feel same as V4
