      Hans did not receive an invitation because other players higher rated and more prestigious than him take precedence over him. It is not necessary fair, but that is just standard procedure.

      @@SimpleAnalysis-j9uobviously correct, sizzlebiskits evidently doesn’t understand how top level chess tournaments work. But also wasn’t it in STL where the whole hotel room debacle occurred?

      Yes, the hotel room incident occurred during the Sinquefield Cup. I am not quite certain what circumstances allowed for Hans to be invited to the GCT that year. In any case, I was correct generally, but Hans was not included for a different reason that I had previously stated. The reason was that Hans damaged property, gave non-interviews, and failed to meet contractual obligations, resulting in him not being invited to any STL events until he has proved his conduct has been amended.       @@SimpleAnalysis-j9uHans beat MVL and Wesley in SCC, he is top 10 currently in performance and chess strength
