He beat a discouraged Novak who's dealing with a new nagging elbow injury that could spell trouble for him in the coming months. Novak had a chronic elbow injury that terrorized him for years leading into 2018 when he finally had surgery. If the elbow problem is back it is gonna deeply hinder his ability to win major titles. He would still win some titles but not even half of what he would win without the elbow problem. Maybe he would even have to take an extended injury layoff to deal with it. I hope this isn't the case and that it's manageable. Novak fans should definitely monitor this situation. Without the elbow issues Novak has had he would probably be at 25 to 30 slams by now.
