  • Had a TOTAL BLAST playing some originals at The Vault in Redlands this week! Huge props to Andrew and Norm, who hadn't heard the songs before and STILL added SO much to the sound and vibe. It was a huge honor to play with such talented artists.
My ONE regret with this song is, there were a lot of youngsters in the crowd who clearly had NO idea what a 3.5 inch floppy is. They looked very confused during the chorus. :P

    LYRICS
    Intro
When life was lived in person instead of on our phones
When we thought that we knew everything, but all was still unknown
    Verse 1
I’d write groundbreaking lab reports about pGLO transformations
DBQs on physiocracy, ‘cause I read The Wealth of Nations
A labeled diagram of plant gametocytes
And insights no one’s had before about Gatsby’s dock green light
    Chorus
    My 3.5-inch floppy
    I finally hold the key
    To ponder and pontificate
    Unravel mysteries
    My 3.5-inch floppy
    My apple from the tree
The last time life would be this way
    So care and worry-free
    Verse 2
We left our bikes (and hearts) unlocked, we weren’t afraid of crooks
All we knew of death came from the poems in our books
We’d never killed a mockingbird, we were children flying high
When a body catch a body walking through the rye
    Outro
Rope swings in the forest, hide and seek behind the stage
My only real responsibility was words on a page
