Great VR Rick! The beginning brought back a lot of memories from my youth, names like Willie Davis, Jim Lefebvre, Wes Parker, and Manny Mota. My favorite Koufax card is the one in my hand at the time🙂Enjoyed this one a lot Rick, well done!
Steve, love the phrase you used on what your favorite Koufax is, you're so right. By the time I started watching baseball, Parker, Willie Davis and Maury Wills were still around, so they were the guys I admired. Thanks for watching.
Great VR Rick. Love seeing the Opening Day Dodger lineup. That Muarry Wills card is so nice.
Awesome VR for PeterB! I thought it was a great idea as well! I too have a late January bday (21st). 1965 is a set I wish I had more of because I really like the design. Neat, Tommy Davis and Willie Davis, love it!
Sammy, we are 9 days apart birthday wise, but I think your video was for 1977 so you're still a young lad. 1965 is probably is in my top 3 of sets design wise.
@@RickAcostaDodgerCardCollector oh nice. I believe there's a good handful of us that have January birthdays that I know. Obviously probably more than I know about
Great video response Rick. Thanks for sharing your collection.
Thank you, Orlando! Loved yours and John's interview w/Sammy.
Fairly was underrated. He was a giants announcer for a few years. Good guy for a Dodger
Fairly did play a long time. I forgot he was a Giants announcer.
Great VR young man! Nice 1965 Topps cards for this presentation.
I haven't been called a young man by someone who wasn't my mother for a long time. HAHAHA!
Hey Rick, nice response to Peter. You made me revisit the statistics of that team. I remember they were pretty light hitting but didn’t realize that Fairly let the team with only 70 RBIs. I wonder if that is the lowest of any World Series team. At least in the post dead ball era. Lou Johnson and Lefebvre had 12 home runs, Wills was caught stealing 31 times and Gilliam hit .280 leading the team. Drysdale had over 100 at bats and hit .300 and was fourth on the team with seven home runs. I know we touched on the latter before. Maybe he should of hit more. An awesome pitching team but maybe the worst hitting team of any World Series winner.
Love the 65 set and the colors on the Dodgers cards are sharp looking. Nice tough showing off some of the bigger cards in the set by touching on their appearances at Dodgers stadium. Great cards and interesting video as always.
Thanks Terry. Man, that Dodger's team just couldn't hit. I once read it was a big deal if the Dodgers scored two runs in an inning. How the that offense from San Francisco didn't win, I'll never understand. Koufax, Drysdale, and Osteen were just too good I guess.
Yeah, I needed an angle on how to get those other guys in there. I just didn't want to show Dodger cards. Peter had a great idea. Thanks for watching!
Love the 1965 topps! Thanks for sharing! PS: one of my recent videos was a salute to the Dodgers with some 50’s and 60’s Topps from my collection if you’re interested in viewing it.
I'll definitely check your video out. Thenks for watching!

What beautiful cards, and what memories! Those were the days, when starters regularly pitched complete games.
I know Don Drysdale also guested in a 1960s sitcom, but I can't remember which one. I rejoiced when the Dodgers swept the 1963 Series.
Drysdale was also on Leave it to Beaver for sure. There is a great video of him out there on the Joey Bishop Show. Several other Dodgers are helping him sing "High Hopes".Thanks so much for watching!
