I like Thom York's voice. It sounds as it's gonna crack anytime, yet it never does.
I never thought of Thom’s voice like that, but thanks to your comment, now I do. I hate you.
I love it. Though I have heard his voice crack, but it doesn't do anything to the quality of what he's singing. It just fits with it

How I miss the old nights, pure unironic poetry
Me too, I remember they’d censor it in the day and cut off before the dude stripped to the studded thong and you missed the ending

This song is one of the best examples of the concept of "organized chaos". It's a swirling, churning, rising, tumbling, cacophony of sound & melody. It's frantic, frenetic, melodic, melancholy, on the border of bedlam but yet somehow never loses control. A work of GENIUS! IMHO.
Also, animation is great but try this: ignore the images and just listen - they distract from the sound and have little or nothing to do with the lyrics.
They have everything to do with the meaning. Open your eyes not just your eyes and Realize.

When I was around 7, my mom used to go to the gym twice a week but because no one could take care of me at home, she would take me with her, where I would wait for her to be done in the reception of the gym. I usually did homework or played with my DS, but there was also this one big TV where some music video TV channel was always on. That way, I ended up watching lots of mv's but one stuck with me. I just remember a lady coming out of a tree and flashing to some guys, a fat man getting his limbs thrown into the ocean, and some bridge scene. I was 7, so it pretty much traumatized me because it was so dammed vivid. I tried to find that mv for 12 years, but nothing. Ironically, I've been listening to radiohead around 4 and this one song was one of my favorites. I always use Spotify, but still, I have no idea how I never came across this legendary video. Just imagine my surprise yesterday, looking this song up on YT, and finding that weirdass video from my childhood. One of the best songs ever put to tape. An absolute masterpiece
This song helps me through hard times. Lately I’ve been upset about what happened not too long ago with me and my best friend. It was 4th grade, the school year was almost over, and I was eating lunch with my friend. Who would’ve known that would’ve been the last time I’d ever seen him. We were neighbors too, so sometimes after school we’d hang out. I had thought he went home early due a doctors appointment, because that’s a common thing in our school district. We both liked the same music, especially Radiohead. I never knew where he went, or what happened to him. I wish he’s okay out there, wherever he lives now. I miss you, Layne.
Being a huge Oasis fan in the mid 90s..i remember Noel Gallagher talking about British bands dominating that era and mentioning that Radiohead could be part of that movement if they fine tuned their stuff...how i laugh now.....Noel ...only in your dreams would you reach the depth these guys reached.

Their early work was a little too Brit pop for my tastes, but when OK Computer came out in '97, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Pink Floyd, but I think Radiohead has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
I see what you did there
In 2000, Radiohead released this 👉 Kid A, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "The National Anthem", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

I was 13 when this album came out, no matter how many times I hear it,it just gets better and better.
For those curious, the song's title is a reference to Marvin The Paranoid Android from the works of Douglas Adams. The line about kings & first against the wall is in relation to Marvin's in-story creators, a robotics manufacturer known as the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation, whose products were known for being so faulty that the only part of the company to show a consistent profit is the complaints department. Their marketing division is said to be a bunch of mindless jerks who will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes. Naturally, if a piece of information that ended up here from a Millenium in the future is any indication, they were.
For nostalgia, switch to 144p.
Nice touch
Ikr i didn't realize it got remastered to 1080p, looks good but weird cause im used to seeing this in low quality

The animator who made the video is a semi famous swedish animator who does actual children’s shows.
All of us here are sharing the same ’suddenly seeing this as a 7 year old and thinking it was a cartoon’ story.

Radiohead commissioned Magnus Carlsson, Swedish creator of the animated series Robin to make this video. The band sent Carlsson a recording of the song without any lyrics because they didn't want the video to be too literal. He locked himself in his office for over 12 hours listening to the song on repeat while jotting down visual ideas for the video, which features Robin and his friend Benjamin from his animated series. This being ergo proxy’s ending is so sick, didn’t realise it was Radiohead until now
I heard this song one time in the 90s and it has stayed with me every since. Happy i found it again.
When I first watched this video, I was around 6yrs old. My dad was watching MTV and I was supposed to be asleep but he let me stay up to watch videos with him. For years, this video was embedded in my memory. The scene where he cuts his limbs with the axe and the mermaids put him in a tree always stuck with me. when I asked my dad if he remembered it, he would always say no or idk what you’re talking about. Fast forward about 12yrs later, I snuck out of my house to hang out with my boyfriend and got high as fuck. We had the tv on all night and I hadn’t been paying any attention to what was playing. I heard a familiar song and looked to the tv. I freaked the fuck out. I started jumping and shaking my boyfriend like, “omgomgomgggg this is the video!!!!” He didn’t know what I was talking about, so I told him the same story. It was a wild experience. Fast forward to now, I’m 28 and this video and song still remains in my core memories. I fucking love Radiohead.
I love this so much and think your dad is amazing for giving you this memory
"and got high as fuck"
The only thing that adds to your story is people knowing you have no control about your life...
I have the same age and a exactly reaction today in the work... So I came here...
@Xalene Santini: and as a huge Airwolf fan, i love your last name. ^-^
Damn! That's an awesome story. Thanks for sharing it.

CZcams: We don‘t accept sexual content in videos
The world: But it‘s Radiohead
CZcams: Ok we‘ll let you do that
Works for me :)
You.are.everywhere. why?
What sexual content? I just saw some big titties. Nothing inherently "sexual" about that. To say otherwise would be "objectify."
(I like big titties as much as the next - jussayin)
@@cryojudgement2376 No, you're thinking of his good brother, Justin Y.
There's a Woodstock video on youtube with flea playing naked the entire concert lol
Must be up there as one of the best songs ever created
The guitar work is underated,. Great great track
I'm very sure Johnny Greenwood is pretty well known so not really underrated
Like so many other songs on OK Computer more than this...in fact, for me, Paranoid Android kind of turned me off to OK Computer...as well as Karma Police. Let Down, Lucky, No Surprises, Subterranean Homesick Alien and The Tourist are all better songs!
al capone drums are underated
There's only one taxi driver in the city and it's danny devito
Tell that to Robert De Niro.

I’d like that
I'm sure you would
Hahahahhaha love you
This is Radiohead's Magnum Opus. Their Bohemian Rhapsody. The song itself is larger than life! I love Radiohead! Their music changed my life as a musician.
6 years since I heard it for the first time and this gem along with the album continue to be masterpieces!!!
