    Kingdom Key. An old honor that was given to heroes and the most trusted stretching back to medieval times was the Key to the City, which was at the time a literal key to the gates of the city's outer walls. This meant one with the Key to the City was given the right to leave and enter the city whenever they wanted, regardless of the time or circumstances. Who is Sora? The one who will open the door to light. He wields the Kingdom Key. The Key to the Kingdom. What's the most important thing for which the series is named?

    This is interesting theory, except...even if the keyblade chose Sora over Riku, it doesn't matter because...Riku ALREADY HAS A KEYBLADE!!! Riku's keyblade chose him too so...I wanna know how Kairi got the keyblade? and NO, I'm ain't accepting that Riku just gave Kairi that flowery keyblade he just had lying around somewhere, where did that keyblade come from?

      In birth by sleep in radiant gardens you have to play aqua story kari as a young girl was running from the unversed holding some flowers in her hands when aqua appears she see that she was in danger and that was when kari ran to aqua and touched the handle of her keyblade after aqua beats the unversed kari gave her the flowers with would of been the Destiny (flower keyblade chain) and in turn aqua put a magic protection spell on kari to find a light of another to keep her safe she was someone who needed to be protected but as of how riku found it and gave it to kari I have no idea but I hope this helps

    I completely agree with this theory and have always thought this as a fact, yet to be stated... Because of this, I believe the Kingdom Key is not Sora's true Keyblade and he might have a true Keyblade yet to obtain...
    Also, HMK has a theory on there being a Kingdom Key of Nothing, the between of Light & Dark... I wonder if that'll be a thing in KH3...

    I find it strange that the Kingdom Key chooses its wielder when no other Keyblade in the series behaves like this. In addition, it can exist as multiple instances thanks to Roxas and Xion. They're not copies. They are the same weapon. It appears to be part of the X-Blade. Lastly, Kingdom Key D was created when the Kingdom Key was created. It exists in the Dark Realm yet is a Keyblade of light not darkness. There is something bizarre about it.
    Lastly, in the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer, Sora is still able to summon and use the Kingdom Key in "Unreality" (i.e. a dimension outside the normal Kingdom Hearts one) even though Sora was supposed to be stripped of his powers from abusing the Power of Waking and rewriting fate.
    Maybe the events around Sora's entire life is why his Keyblade is so unique?
    There is also this weird constant with Sora: "The brighter your light, the greater the darkness draws toward it". This may seem to be explaining the nature of Heartless in general being attracted to brighter light despite "fearing" it. This may refer to Sora's darkness that has not been pointed out explicitly in the series yet. In Kingdom Hearts 1, Sora is turned into a Shadow Heartless (despite how strong his hard is supposed to be), retains his consciousness and will and reverts back. In Kingdom Hearts 2, Sora has an Anti-Form (i.e. a shadow Heartless form) where Sora loses access to the Kingdom Key temporarily but gains power and overwhelms opponents with animalistic fury that is more likely to trigger during stressful moments (i.e. boss battles). Lastly, in Kingdom Hearts 3, Sora gains access to Rage Form if he receives enough punishment in battle. Rage Form seems stronger than Anti-Form and allows Sora to continue using the Kingdom Key. I am expecting in Kingdom Hearts 4 for Sora to start tapping more into this dark power in order to return home.

    I think you clearly did not understand why Sora got Rikus Keyblade. Riku was chosen in the beginning by the Kingdom Key, the keyblade of the realm of light. It showed in this exact moment because his world was going to be swallowed by darkness, to protect him. However, since Riku didn't resist the darkness, it went down the line and took the next person it could find, Sora. This is also explained again in Kingdom Hearts 3D by young xehanort when he explains why they want to make Sora a Xehanort vessel. He states that Riku has a resistance to the darkness and that they did the same as the keyblade did, they went down the line to the next best person.
    And in that moment where it went to Sora, it was no longer meant for Riku, which is why it didn't stay with him even after he took it in Traverse Town and later in Hollow Bastion. Rikus heart was fallen into darkness and thus, became unsuitable for the keyblade fo the realm of light.

      The problem with this is that almost every keyblade is from the realm of light. You also don't have to be a warrior of light to wield a keyblade of light. You can be a warrior of darkness and wield a keyblade of light and vice versa. Look at King Mickey for example, he's a warrior of light that wields a keyblade from the realm of darkness. Tetsuya Nomura has stated this in an interview on KH13.

    • @yacobblack9858

      +Pez Pro its not about riku not being able to wield the keyblade because his heart turned to darkness, its about rikus light reflecting off of sora. ever notice how the only time we see destiny islands in darkness is when the world fell into darkness? its because the DESTINY being referred to is the destiny of the suns setting and when the sun sets, its light reflects off of the moon! this is why kingdom hearts is a moon because its the light in the darkness. check out my vids if you want to know more.

    • @PezPro
      @PezPro Před 7 lety

      Yacob Black Not quite sure where you got the theory, but I'm willing to hear it out. As far as everyone in the KH community is concerned, supposedly Sora got it from Riku because he was consumed by darkness. It's never really made clear as to if it's Riku's light, because that would indicate the the light from Riku's heart gave Sora the keyblade, meaning because his heart turned to darkness. Well of course the only time we see it in darkness is when it's falling into darkness, that's why he had to seal all of the hearts of the worlds, so the darkness wouldn't consume them (The Worlds). I appreciate the connections that you're putting together and it sounds like a really interesting theory, but I can't really find anymore information on it. I tried looking for it on your channel, but I found nothing. If there were more clues or possibly statements made by the creators, like Sora meaning Moon and Riku meaning Sun, then I could be more persuaded to see your point of view. Without, it just looks like another theory. If you could link me to your video, I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks!

    6:14 honestly,that point is also used for the version in which its rikus keyblade.it went to sora because he was the one resisting the darkness.
    and riku didnt really "get another chance" by usual means.maleficent helped him to combine his ability to wield one and his dark potential and thus a nonkeyblade(souleater) was created and it later evolved to a keyblade that suited his heart better.and no,its not impossible to evolve and then later revert,we see it in bbs and kh2 in which terras keyblade is earthshaker but lingering wills keyblade is called something else(i dont remember right now).
    thats because earthshaker evolved when he met riku and that keyblade became the new actual keyblade while the standartform became a keychain.so it wouldnt be out of the question that riku would be able to wield both way to dawn AND souleater,as he doesnt even need souleater to be a keychain as its not even technicly the same type of summonable sword

    the keyblade wielder allows someone else to wield it, just Leon wasn't a friend of sora's With Roxas the oblivion belonged to sora's heart while oathkeeper belonged with Xion but Xion is no more, not to mention Roxas and Xion accidentally did the inherientice ceremony which explains why Roxas is capable of two keyblades, also explains why he has TWO kingdom keys in the final level of 358/2 days yeah the keyblades Oblivion and Oath Keeper were both Kingdom Keys before becoming the oath Keeper and Oblivion, which only means that it was Xion's keyblade and tetsuya numora doesn't want to spoil Xion's return

      Roxas never did the inheritance ceremony. He is sofas nobody so he automatically has the right to sora keyblade and he was housing Ventus heart while he was alive so he could also wield Ventus keyblade. While Roxas was around sora would have been unable to dual wield because he didn't have vens heart. Xion has a fake heart that is taking power I.e the keyblade from Roxas. Is it possible to say when Riku and Sora were getting pulled into the darkness that because Sora has Ven's heart the light saved Sora and it drew the Keyblade. Your theory on using another's keyblade would be correct but that also means since it was able to be used by both Sora and Riku it could've gone to either so if Riku hadn't given into darkness the kingdom key would be his. That means Ven's heart could give Sora a keyblade if he ever clashed with darkness at a later point if kh1 played differently.

  • @lyssarose3401
    @lyssarose3401 Před 6 lety

    This is very late for a reply, but Nomura confirmed in an Ultimania interview that the way Sora obtained the keyblade was directly related to Riku's heart's light; when Riku's heart's darkness swarmed around them & their islands, Sora reached toward Riku and effectively "touched" Riku's heart's light, which then allowed him to temporarily seize Kingdom Key for himself. This is irrefutable proof that Kingdom Key was always first meant to be Riku's. While Riku's darkness was expanding & going haywire, his light also shone brightly from within. The way Sora appropriated the keyblade as well as Riku & his entire character arc, lines up perfectly with the KH line "the closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes". When Terra first saw Sora & Riku as children, remember that Sora wasn't the one who caught his eye; it was Riku who was giving off tremendous light, enough to make him believe he was led here to meet the boy. Throughout the series, Riku shifts from one extreme to the other, intense darkness to intense light, not being able to find the balance that was right for him. His decision to follow the path to dawn is part of that struggle, and through it he ultimately figured out how to utilize his dark power for good. Also, we know that each person's keyblade reflects themselves somehow (examples are Kairi's & Lea's keyblades). If we look at the Kingdom key, the color scheme is silver, yellow and blue, a design choice made to more closely match Riku.The mickey-head keychain itself could be foreshadowing how closely tied Riku & Mickey's destinies are, since the King would eventually become a compassionate friend as integral to Riku as Donald & Goofy are to Sora. I think Riku being so close to Mickey in general is a testament to why the kingdom key was absolutely meant for him to begin with; & to top it all off, Mickey has Kingdom Key D, the Kingdom Key's counterpart from the realm of darkness. (also, Riku's new keyblade Braveheart has what appears to be a silver mickey keychain, so..)

    Nomura actually explained that it was rikus keyblade and that sora only was able to obtain it when he touched rikus light on destiny islands. if you take a look at the cover of Kingdom hearts 1 you will see sora standing in the light of the moon which is in the shape of a heart. in KHUnchained x we all get a default keyblade called star light. there are many worlds but they share the same sky, one sky one destiny. we are talking about the destiny of the sun here, which is riku. if a keyblade IS starlight, which it is, then what happens when the star that is the sun sets? its light reflects off of the surface of the moon giving the moon the starlight and making the moon the light of the world instead of the sun even though the light does belong and come from the sun, the moon can touch the sun's starlight and becomes the light of the world. kingdom hearts is the light in the darkness right? well when its dark where do you put the light? thats right, you put it on the moon. the moon is the light in the darkness. ive done videos on all of this, maybe you should check em out.
    also the main reason you guys are wrong is because it is explained in kingdom hearts re coded that riku was the one who opened that door in the secret place and he did that with the power of the keyblade.

    Umm sorry to say but I disagree with this theory, 5 chosen wielders have been placed: aqua, terra, ventus, kairi, riku. Therefore the sixth wielder is the one not first chosen by the keyblade yet is still able to wield it. Riku is a wielder because Terra gave Riku his keyblade to hold, even though it is a ceremony for a master Terra passed on being chosen from him to Riku and Aqua did same to Kairi, Ventus didnt let Sora touch his keyblade at least from what I remember so that validates 5 chosen from 6 keyblade wielders, im not too sure how Mickey and Axel fall into it though, therefore the Kingdom Key was meant for Riku but because of the Darkness in his heart he was not found worthy anymore so it found another wielder.
