  • Here's a tutorial on how to get the best performance in After Effects! We're going over how to make your After Effects 100x faster. Yes 100x, maybe even 1000x faster depending on how slow of a potato your computer is right now. From hardware like processors, RAM, video cards, and storage, to in-project settings like adaptive resolution and disk caches, you're gonna want to stick around whether you're a beginner or a veteran motion designer in After Effects.
Before you get creating in AE, make sure you hit the subscribe button because I may go over helpful tips and tricks in a future tutorial. Or just hit the subscribe button because you liked the video and appreciate free videos 😉.

Press caps lock when rendering. This will turn off playback as you render and cuts render time in half

Here's a cheeky tip - if you have a render hungry animation that comes to a stop, pre-compose those layers that are no longer moving and add a time-freeze to it. Huge time saver.

After Effects doesn’t benefit like C4D does from GPU usage. After effects benefits more from processors, storage and RAM.

Not specifically rendering, but for previews; disabling some heavy effects like Glow, Blurs, etc helps to skim quickly through the timeline. I always disable the layers which aren't my point of focus and it helps incredibly.
