Not how that works. The damage it shows will always show how much you actually did regardless of how much HP the enemy had. It's only your total damage for that game that only adds their remaining HP as damage
He hit for 9 because he hit for 9. The enemy just also happened to be that low. Which when you think about it is hilarious. Imagine being so low that a PK wiff 9 shot drops you xD

Mastiff went huge for me the other day
Literally got a headshot for 11 with the pk a couple seasons ago and haven't used it since that gun has been so inconsistent for years
PK used to be my favorite, but honestly the mastiff is so much better right now. Even the bique consistently hits better

Peacekeeper is actually good if you use it correctly. Whilst I do agree that it isn’t consistent by default, a good pk player can control the consistency.
I wish mozambique has 8 rounds magazine instead of 6. During the end of every matches, everybody would be hard to crack because their armor all went up to purple or red. 6 shots wont cut it because mozambique only deal about 30 dmg average on armor. Which means it needs 4 clean shot to crack armor and then only 2 shots left to sap the life out of the enemy for 60 each. Which means if you miss 1 shot, you are basically dead unless you equipped an smg or ar as a backup

If they are in your face the PK is better, however, in 85% of your fights in Apex you are fighting outside the PK’s range so the Mozambique is more consistent at range but not at extremely close ranges if only you hit your PK shots.

All this talk about the pk when stiffy does the exact same thing. He hit for 11-13-11-11 but didn’t say a word. I say shotguns all do the same except the mozam. I legit think the entire shotgun class is a preference thing. All of em are strong in their own way

I mean in the pk’s defense you can only hit somebody for however much health they have left, your not gunna hit 80+ ona guy that only has 5-10hp left, although bodying somebody for 90+ and following it up with a fat 9 really do be soul crushing
I vowed never to pick up the pk again. But then they nerfed the r9. You know the games down bad when you'd rather land on the p20/bique than the R9/PK
The pk would be alot more consistent if the made the crosshairs and sights better match the spread, like the mastiff. The mastiff easily has the best hipfire crosshair and iron sights for its spread, which makes it super consistent to hit 88's with. Plus the minimum damage you can do with the mastiff is 11, you'll never hit for a 9 with it and it hits less 11s than 9s with the pk. Mozam and Mastiff are the best floor shotguns depending on your playstyle. I still feel like the Eva is the best shotgun this season, it absolutely has to be with it having the 2nd fastest ttk in the whole game, only being beaten by Sheila. I absolutely hated the Eva on the floor, but the care package Eva is a massive improvement in my opinion

I never really liked the pk cause half the shots I hit are 9s. It would be better with a higher minimum damage.
I rather run pk and mozam than a mastiff and eva. I feel the mastiff is worse when it comes to inconsistent shots. With pk, I always hit my shots. But Mozam is best overall :3
Imo the mastiff is the worst shotgun. The slight delay after pulling the trigger is so annoying, and it makes it super inconsistent. Id take a p20 over it
Isn’t the game just like this like when you hit him for just 9 it was because he only had 9 hp left? It would have shown you the same amount with any other gun or even point blank with pk ? @moose
i think this is the case, happens to me all the time even when all pellets are on target point blank if it’s a fatal shot and enemy has less hp than a single pellet.
im pretty sure the first hitting pellet kills which shows 9. the other pellets may hit after, but is then hitting a knocked player
Im 99 percent sure thats not how it works. Imagine hitting a kraber shot for 9 because thats how much hp they had. Your dmg counter will go up by the actual dmg done but it will hit for the amount that the gun actually did.
Yeah, that's not how that works. The damage shown when you hit the shot is always the amount it does. The enemy however can have less then what you dealt, and it will still show that number while only adding their remaining HP to your total damage count
For example, I got a knock with a triple take on someone, dealt standard levels of damage for that gun. The number for the shot was normal, but the damage added to my total damage that match was 2 (I nearly died laughing at that btw, was hilarious)
So yeah, it didn't show 9 cause he only had 9 HP left. It was just that it hit for 9, and coincidently that was enough to down the guy
@@r4643 I could be wrong. but what if 9 damage is the amount that one pellet does. in this case it would be the first pellet.
so if enemy has 7hp and the first pellet hits for 9 then it will show 9 and knock.
the kraber example wouldn't contradict this. imagine firing a kraber like shotgun, where each pellet hit for 210. the first pellet to hit would show 210, the remaining would not show because they're hitting someone in a knocked animation (pretty sure there's invincibility frames between getting knocked and being down).

1:30 (I don’t want to be a smart ass but……) it says it did nine damage because he was one shot when you shoot someone when they are one shot you do the amount of damage they had as health, so because he had 9 hp you did exactly 9 damage when you shot him which instantly downed him.
Not how it works. It shows the full damage your bullet did but the guy was one shot and only took one pellet to die so it showed 9 damage

Hey as a fellow maggie abuser you are sleeping on the two drills its better than big drill in like 90% of situations. Its so rare for someone to actually eat the whole drill and the perks have been out long enough for the big drill to not surprise everyone with its impressive girth.

Tbh the pk isn’t as good as it was but u still hit for 2 11s and a 13 second to last fight with the mastiff. Shotguns are just bad in general in apex so🤷🏼♂️😂
