In August 2019, I bought the 2020 Bison diesel in Summit White. This thing is awesome. I added the AEV transmission skid, the Warn witch kit and Warn winch. It will soon have Rigid lights installed in the rear bumper and also as ditch lights. I wasn't in the market for a ZR2, I was waiting for the Gladiator to come out with a diesel. Then when I saw videos on CZcams regarding the diesel engine. I jumped in my Buick Enclave ( a step up in comfort but joy from my previous ride, a 2012 FJ Cruiser) and tested the only ZR2 the dealer had, a gasser. They didn't have any diesels in any trim. Didn't matter the ride was amazing so I had them find a Bison ZR2. It's been the best purchase I've every made in the fun to drive category. So far I've only been able to drive it back and forth to work. Hope to put it in the Florida trails and mud soon. Oh, it came with the light bar and lights and the to me useless spare tire carrier. Fortunately, the tire carrier had not yet been dealer installed, so I sold it back to the dealer for $85 more than list. That made my day.

You need to invest in a set of tire auto deflaters! They are like $20 on Amazon. Not very fast but you can do all 4 tires at once. I set mine for 15psi (So they drain fastest) and watch the gauge cluster for the PSI I actually want. (On my Colorado)

i keep my tonneau closed now but first pickup i had was in the 80's and i have driven several since and i would guess it's mostly late teens/early 20's high school and college kid types who do it, because it's usually cheap beer cans, soda, junk food and because those are usually the people in the area. it happens on work sites and at apartment complexes, also. i see people throwing trash out their car window on the roads at least once a week and it's all ages and kinds of people, though. i see people throwing their trash on the ground all the time when there is an empty trash can only a few steps away a lot, too. we need to bring back the stockades. a long time ago when people needed an attitude adjustment they got a day in the stockades where everyone in town could throw rotten eggs and tomatoes at them and heckle them. it brought the community together to enforce community standards of behavior and discourage delinquency, gossip, adultery, etc. the verb to pillory (to expose someone to public ridicule) comes from the old stockades.

Got mine in late 2016, believe I got the Canadian autoshow premiere unit after the tour because it was identical (arrived 6-8 months early without notice, 200km, suspiciously also missing the rock sliders) When I inquired with GM, the VIN at sale was registered with them as a mod Z71 trim! Cool story. Great truck but I didnt get to pick the engine, the gas job was the deflating combo of too thirsty with a small tank and lackluster performance (21mpg) - was not adequate for towing anything bigger than maybe a tent trailer. Struggled mightily with 2 snowmobiles in trailer thru the mountains (couldnt get under 3500 rpm even on flats). Snow performance was great with the duratracs and wider stance, space upfront was good but anyone in the back was crammed and dogs had to sit on the seat.. I ultimately traded it last year for a 19 Raptor.. Happy happy - Negligible change in gas mileage (18mpg) especially considering a SIGNIFICANT performance upgrade. No space issues anymore!.. except it doesnt fit in my office parkade! hah

If I could offer any suggestions: start the video off by sharing that the base model ZR2 offers the exact same capability as the model that has an MSRP of $50k. A lot of your viewers are average income American workers and will quickly be disinterested when you say $50k for a midsize. Colorado’s are selling like hotcakes this year (leading the segment in YoY) and over 12% of all those are the ZR2. This is because they sell well below MSRP. Most of the ZR2s are selling between 38k-43k out the door with v6 on the lower and diesel on the higher end of that range.

Easily the most capable truck on the market. I would consider trading in my '18 Silverado in a few years for a Colorado ZR2 - I'm hoping it will get a bit of a refresh soon, last I read is 2022. Would like to see some LED or HID headlights, just a bit of styling refresh.

Why would you get the gas engine? The low end torque of the diesel is one of the major reasons why that was so easy.

Had a new TRD Tacoma 3 years ago, Now new ZR2 . The Tacoma was a good truck, but the experience just doesn’t compare. This ZR2 is way better off-road and in the daily grind. The Tacoma just doesn’t even come close. The ZR2 has more power, rides way quieter/better, Ergonomics are way better, engine has way more power, Bose stereo sound phenomenal, ZR2 come with way more standard equipment(apple car play, remote start, front locker, rock sliders, rears disk brakes, Tow package, SiriusXM, etc). In fact about the only thing I miss is the cheaper aftermarket support and The phenomenal Resale Value. I sold the Tacoma for the same price I paid new!

this truck is a beast but i worry as compact/mid size chevy trucks are notorious for breakdown after a few years, I am wondering if they are worth 50 K when i could get about anything else for 20K less and throw 2K worth of air lockers and get the same thing without the breakdowns.

Couldn’t agree more with your last comment - I own a 2017 ZR2 petrol model, no extras from GM. With discount I paid $40K. Added what I wanted and the build is still under $45K with enough $$$ left for a BDS 4” lift kit in the near future .....

Hey Oscar. Compare apples to apples. So you brother bought a 2014 model year Raptor from 4.5 years ago in 2015 left over from 2014 for 50K.
The guy doing the review is giving a retail price for the truck with a special package you don't need that cost way too much. You can buy a 2019 ZR2 in 2018 with a diesel for a little over 40K, and without the diesel for about mid high 36K. Obviously you could get a 2017 in 2018 for less but unlike the Raptor you'd be hard pressed to find one.
How much is a 2019 Raptor selling for? Close to double.
