I think what makes this video stand out is that it doesn’t try and give you the 'magic bullet' for clean and healthy teeth, it tells the truth in that it takes work and the correct amount of brushing rather than the latest dental fad. Goodprofessional advice in my opinion.

Ironically, I figured this out myself, with some good old common sense. I started focusing on the back teeth more for who knows how long, and the last time I went to the dentist he told me that I should focus more on my front teeth as they were the dirtiest 😂😂😂

I found key parts of my tooth brushing were having flaws. Now i will have healthier teeth for sure.
Brushing teeth is one thing, CLEANING them is a whole different story. Teach your kids to Clean them teeth, all around and never touch to sticky or crunchy sweets. Cleaning teeth must feel like having fun for 5 minutes.
Chewing a small piece of cheese after every snack also works reducing the acidity that decay bacteria needs to exist

Good information. I brush my teeth after every meal, and that has really helped to maintain my teeth.
Nobody ever says anything about how much tooth paste should be used. I think we use too much. I bet Colgate wouldn't like to hear me say that. I have gone to putting the tooth paste in my mouth, rinsing, and then brushing with what remains. Firstly the toothpaste and its fluoride properties go straight in behind the teeth where decay often occurs. Secondly the bristles on the brush don't clog up with paste and stay flexible. Thirdly its easier to feel exactly where the brush is, and brush each tooth systematically. It just requires a very soft brush because there is less foam buffer. Twice a day is much better than once. Electric tooth brushes are great, even if they can only be used twice a week. They can put a lot of brushing around hard to reach back molars and wisdom teeth. Electric brushes are not as messy as they seem, as in most cases the head oscillates rapidly back and forth and doesn't spin. Soft replacement brushes are usually available.
@ Charles Rablin. Agreed, we don’t need to use a lot of toothpaste I do however have a few issues with some of your ideas. Toothpaste in no way affects the flexibility of the toothbrush bristles unless you don’t wash it off and let it dry on your brush after using it. Putting the paste in your mouth beforehand really won’t help since we want to get the plaque off of the teeth and have a clean tooth surface for the fluoride contact. Yes a soft or extra soft toothbrush is recommended. Electric brushes are helpful for many. If someone truly puts the time in with proper technique, studies have shown that they can do just as good of a job with a manual brush . Unfortunately, many people don’t

Wow this ~5 min video has been more helpful than a whole lifetime of dentist visits! I feel like chasing my dentist away with a broom! I have spent thousands of dollars, wasted countless hours of my life plus the pain having what I thought was extreme good care on my teeth and did not realize I was actually doing harm to them and my non-informing dentist was turning a massive huge profit on me. I brushed 3 times a day always and no matter how good products I been using all my life top of the line Crest Prohealth and Oral B products and every single dentist visit I got 2 cavities to treat or more!! To think with so many thousands I have spent on my mouth I should have a better smile than Ricky Martin, yes no joke I have spent a LOT even when my health insurance didn't cover much. Now I went to a new doctor and is claiming I need one hell of a expensive route canal + crown to fix a tooth, the heck is this dentists treating my teeth like a mechanic fixes one thing but doesn't attempt correcting other things so you visit soon after that.

Little Wu, I recommend you don’t. Bleeding while brushing usually means that you brush too roughly. You need to brush more gently. Unless the gum is inflamed, then THAT means that bleeding is expected.

If it foams up too much for you during brushing then spit a tiny bit out but keep it all in if you can. Keep the foam in your mouth for the whole time you're brushing - spit it out once you're done, don't swallow it.

It is amazing how little we really know about our dental health, that is why I find the videos from checkdent are such a help. In this one the correct way to brush our teeth is doubly helpfull since I have been doing it wrong for years.
