Woooow! This version is amazing. I mean, the song is amazing, but somehow with every new version or live performance he upgrades the amazing :) And Nico Muhly on piano... ✨ 🙏
Girls, stop drooling. Dawn is married (to another guy) and Suf is going steady (with another guy). He is the cutest man on earth. I mean Sufjan, not his bf. I love Nico's piano here!
+Prateek Biswas No, I'm not. :P I'm just a fan who was lucky enough to be able to go to 8 shows on this tour. Sufjan himself doesn't seem to mind cameras, so it's up to the venue to decide what to do. None of the more highbrow theaters in the UK checked the contents of my backpack. The one place that did (Manchester Apollo) didn't care about my mirrorless a6000. From what I've seen, you could bring a full-frame DSLR to the Royal Festival Hall in London and they wouldn't care. Colston Hall in Bristol is a little more strict than that (they wouldn't check your bags, but they could bug you if you had a big camera/lens). Point & shoots are allowed in all of those venues. I didn't have any issues in Barcelona and Madrid either, but again, I didn't bring a DSLR. It's a mirrorless camera and looks pretty compact.
+Rairun Hey Rairun! Thanks for clearing that up! I am going to his show in November and I am a concert photographer and would love to photograph him. Some of my work - facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.997144136986662.1073741836.125732460794505&type=3 facebook.com/prateekbiswasphotography
@@ambq73 It isn't, no. I used a pair of Church Audio CA-11 cardioid microphones into a small CA preamp, into the Zoom H1 recorder. They are small mics that can be mounted on your glasses or hat. They aren't super easy to get nowadays because they are handmade by a guy in Canada, and he doesn't make a lot of them (I've heard he takes months to ship them). They are reasonably cheap and sound good. If I were to upgrade, I'd probably go for the DPA 4060 mics, but they are quite a bit more expensive (last I checked a pair cost about the same as an iPhone).
oh, to have sufjan stevens dedicate you a song
those two guys at the back are having THE TIME
ahahahaha
I would too if I was able to see watch Sufjan perform that closely

I like the simple acoustic album version. Peaceful and appropriate but he does bring it every time. I don't usually enjoy live recordings.
Omg this version!!!
yes I wish I could find a recorded version like this 😢
These videos are fantastic! Such great sound and quality on these both new and old songs that I have been craving to hear live.
Goosebumps
You hear the Nick Drake influence. This song sounds a lot like "Road."
i hear the similarities but i'm insure if he was inspired by Drake given how obscure his music was before music streaming
Nico Muhly on piano here.
banger, thank you for uploading
Thank you so much for these videos! =) Amazing quality
Me hace llorar aún,tu música tiene un lugar bonito en mi corazón...
The hottest is him

Evelina Morgan Sufjan is gay?
haha, yes.
When has he said that he is in a relationship? And when has he said that he is gay?
jonathan hart Exactly! How are people so casually saying this? They don't even know.
@@anneshamukherjee6306 He's obviously gay
how do he play dat guitar with that little neck?
Are you part of the Sufjan Stevens crew? Did they allow cameras in the concert?

@@Rairun1 is the mic part of the camera? how are you getting this sound? sounds a lot better than an iphone.

what was he saying at 1:36?
Might be "Am I on the wrong chord?"
