I think a lot of you are missing the point of HARDtalk. The guests are there to defend their own beliefs against aggressive, accusatory, biased questioning. Sackur's questions are not indicative of his own bias. His questions are supposed to be positioned as a diametric opposite to whoever he's interviewing. You are free to the opinion that this style of interview is unhelpful or dishonest, but the aggressive questioning is literally the point. 'HARD' talk.
Where is UK now in this Covid-19 saga Mr Journalist....? Get off your high horse and listen to the answers, you can ask but you also have to listen.....!
He didn't ask any question. He stated false informations and half truths as facts, then asked the minister to defend or deny those statements. That's not journalism, that's activism.
@@neretilderem7029 His job is to impersonate activists and to force the interviewee to defend against bullshit questions. He's stating false information and half-truths on purpose, to see how the interviewee responds. This is the exact point of the program
Did you guys notice the Great Hungary (*"Nagy Magyarorszag") map in Kovacs's background? ... for those who don't know the history... this WAS the territory of Hungary BEFORE the World Wars. It is currently used as a far-right nationalist symbol in Hungary. Lots of Hungarians maintain the desire to re-gain those 'lost' territories which still have significant Hungarian ethnic populations... like Transylvania (currently part of Romania). But as far as we know this is not the official policy of the Hungarian government (at least it has not been declared as such).

Well said Mr Zoltan Kovacs. Stephan Sacker biased BBC Agenda has been rumbled again and to see Mr Kovac holding his own and even bettering Stephan Sackers critical allegations in a language which is not his own was great to see.
Many apparently don t get the point of this show. The moderator challenges his guests to answer tough, uncomfortable questions. What's important are the answers to these questions and how the quest handles them. More like a debate. If you sympathize with the guest it must be painful to you that someone would dare treat them in such a manner...but guests know what is in store for them and willingly sign on to be a guest......for some reason.
He didn't ask any question. He stated false informations and half truths as facts, then asked the minister to defend or deny those statements. That's not journalism, that's activism.
Most comments here show a lack of understanding of Hardtalk's premise. The role of the presenter is to play "devil's advocate" and be contentious...on purpose, instead of showing the deference and respect (more likely fear) you might be more accustomed to in more authoritarian countries.

This interview is showing exactly how the Hungarian officials are not answering questions put in front of them by the journalist if the questions are reflecting other views than those the Hungarian government. Kovacs is behaving as if it was a press conference - no answers, only statements. The line of the argument - don't listen to the voices coming from Hungary and EU institutions, listen to what the government says.

As a Dane who has enjoyed living in free Democracy for over 5 decades, I am so gratefull not to be a citizen in Hungary. Poor, poor Hungarian people - my heart goes out to you.
We elected this government 3 times with 2/3 majority. It's pathetic if you think your "danish democracy" is in any way better and your pity to the hungarian people is disgusting. Maybe you shouldn't form an opinion based on BBC...
Revealing interview. It's not biased, it's critical, (Hard talk, da). It's funny how every critical voice, even a simple question triggers an anti-leftist anti-liberal reaction in autocratic regimes, Orban's, Trump's or Putin's.
