    Excellent Video. Really demonstrates some of the advanced features that otherwise would be difficult for a user to find or learn. While FreeCad can sometimes be a bit frustrating from a UI perspective, it is indeed very capable. Thanks for sharing this video.

      Thank you. I want to do some more of these videos. I have been lurking in a few webinars where people are using the product leading CAD packages and seeing what they produce and push and been figuring out what I can bring to the channel from that perspective. Especially with the new version of FreeCAD around the corner :) Glad you enjoyed.

    Excellent content! It looks like the main differences between other CAD packages and Freecad has come down to user interface choices and not capability. Now all I have to do is learn it.

      FreeCAD is getting better and better especially with the impending release of version 1 around the corner. This video was done in 0.22 weekly builds which are still not stable yet but I am getting in early as when it's released I see a lot of adoption. The methods used are interchangeable with earlier versions and exactly the same workflow. Glad you enjoyed :)

    Thanks Darren, you've presented some great advanced modeling techniques.
    I'm curios of what is the difference between the Path Array and Path Link Array, along all the other "link" arrays in the draft array toolbox. I might have missed a video about it, so you might have covered it already, but would gladly watch explanation of the difference of all the array tools that are available.

    I'm trying to word this carefully. What is the best practice for conducting unions and cuts? Do them as you go? Or as you start getting everything in place? i.e. all at once or several in a row? I know that all at once sometimes doesn't work. Which is the best practice for parametric modeling. This was an awesome lesson. Thank you.

      Glad you enjoyed the lesson. If you are using the part design then there will be a automatic fusion / cut with each operation but with part then you have that power of doing them when and how you want. I personal do 'like for like' in the part workbench. So I would combine all the rivets into a compound and then create a fusion, the follow with surface detail. In that way the treeview doesn't get too messy.

    Hi, great tutorial as usual. I am having an issue trying to follow along at home, when I open the Part Workbench I do not have the Create Sketch option and seem unable to add it. Have FreeCAD 0.21.2 installed.

      Ahh, yes, in this video I am using the 0.22 weekly builds which will become version 1. So you just need to go to the sketcher workbench, create the sketch in there and return to the part workbench and carry on as normal. Glad your enjoying.

    What if the surface is not defined by any vertex but e. g. the result of a loft?

    • @MangoJellySolutions
      @MangoJellySolutions  Před měsícem

      The projection would work so if you wanted to add more edges to put rivets along. I have projected a line onto the loft before and used this as a path for a array, if that helped?

    Felt like theres purpose in this Vid, I find myself going 4 sketch right click transform from time to time.
