The fact that they were willing to reference Space Ghost Coast to Coast is definitely an awesome inclusion to me. Now I kind of want to see them have Harvey Birdman, if they can get away with it.
For me, the humor feels a LOT!! like Family Guy and I absolutely hate Family Guy. I have watched Hanna-Barbera cartoons since I was a kid and I have never seen one that's worse than this.
Fun fact hanna barbera was super popular ib latino america and adults who grew up watching those cartoons have been excited for this serie since it got announced me being one of them and i think its been rlly amazing how they seem to care for these characters
This show really is good. I just lost it when Brak, Zorac, and Moltar showed up dressed as the Galaxy Trio. I feel like putting those three together was a way of bringing Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and Cartoon Planet. Since that was the earliest days of Cartoon Network original programming.
the humor in this show is awesome, you can just tell the crew is having a great time working on it! i'm honestly more a fan of lady jabberjaw than the OG version, i just think she's super cute lol
This show really makes me laugh! Not only is it great to see nostalgic Hanna Barbera characters again with CH Greenblatt’s writing, but it’s so neat to see characters I never knew existed in the Hanna Barbera universe. Seriously, there are so many deep cuts in this show, it blows my mind 🤯
As someone who grew up watching Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Cartoon Planet and the Brak Show, the Space Ghost comic con episode was basically a shot of dopamine directly into my brain not only with Andy Merrill and George Lowe being brought back (RIP C. Martin Croker) but with the references in the characters' dialogue and mannerisms (Brak shouting "Oh beans!" in particular got me).
But i gotta ask, did She and her friends get no respect? What did Scooby do that She'd neglect? They'd be keeping all their does in check since she and her friends (woulda) had NO RESPECT!
Gen z is arguably the last generation to experience these shows as they originally were intended to be viewed. So them appealing to us makes sense. Especially since it’s made by the guy who made chowder
I'm interested in what C.H. Greenblatt did about Jellystone. A mixture of 20th century cartoon character into one with new designs. Yogi bear, Cindy bear, Boo-Boo and Top Cat are the best examples for that. Plus William Hanna & Joseph Barbera will be so proud that there is someone out there who doesn't let their cartoons die.
When I saw the trailer for Jellystone I was looking forward to watch the series on HBO Max, so that way I would have the chance to respect and get a chance to know the Hanna Barbara characters better and I really like the show and that led me of seeing the previous stuff that HB did like Magilla Gorilla which was all the way back in 2020 in November during the family feast, the Yogi Bear cartoons, some of the Huckleberry Hound cartoons, Atom Ant, Top Cat and even the shows from the 70s 80s and 90s such as Yogi's gang, Yogis space race (even the spin-off Galaxy goof ups) Yogi's treasure hunt and Yo Yogi. I already know Scooby-Doo, the Flintstones, and the Jetson's before, but now things are coming quite a full circle of and learning their entire existence. Once I get back onto Max, someday I will watch Season 3 of Jellystone. Editor's note I've seen the very first episode of Jellystone season 3 meet The Jetsons on Boomerang backgan late March of this year and I gotta say it's a miracle that the channel is starting to air new episodes and it's worth it.
I was curious, and a bit iffy, when seeing the max listing for it. When i watched, and i have only watched season 1, i found this to actually be a funny as shit show
One of the cartoons that inspired so many newgrounds shorts. I am sure if it weren't for the CN shows and Ram and Stimpy the Newgrounds kids wouldn't have so much awesome material to look up to.
It's definitely a fresh revamp for the whole franchise, the style screams C.H Greenblatt all over (SpongeBob/Chowder/Harvey Beaks vibes all through), hilarious and variable humor all over the place, lovely renovations to the whole cast (Doggy and Augie being my absolute faves) and a wacky toon-esque ambience with a modern twist, I ADORE IT; I also believe people who harshly criticize this show are die-hard Hannah Barbera fans (who are around their 40's-70's) who can't accept their beloved universe having being completely reimagined by someone other than the iconic duo [after all these are the same group of people who criticized Animaniacs and SpongeBob back in the 90's]. Sometimes change is good, and this is a perfect example on how to do it effectively.
I was turned off from it when i saw they gender swapped characters for no reason. Recently I've seen clips of Space Ghost and Banana Splits, even Top Cat. I had reruns of these to watch as a kid instead of recent shows like Power Rangers, so i might check it out now.
Okay, here are my thoughts after watching the first episode of Jellystone on Max. I am an older millennial who definitely remembers a lot of those Hanna-Barbera characters. As a matter of fact, I grew up watching Scooby-Doo where are you, Yogi Bear, Flintstones, Jetsons...... I could go on here. Despite the gender swapped characters, I really do like Jellystone. Definitely going to add it to my adult Saturday morning cartoon roster
It's a great as unlike Velma,it actually feels like a huge loveletter to Hanna Barbera while referencing many old cartoons people may have see before or not know until years later. 10/10.
Out of curiosity, didn't you like Jellystone before this recent season? Or am I misinterpreting this video? Still, well done short video. From what I saw of Jellystone, it looks funny.
Jellystone is a mixed bag for me, but I agree it has genuinely funny humor, some nice redesigns/animation, (and I've grown weary of the Flash cartoon style almost every cartoon has now) and alot of obscure references to classic HB properties and series. I loved George Lowe returning out of retirement as Space Ghost, Andy Marril Brak, sarcastic Loopy, the Top Cat gang, and Homer Simpson Yogi Bear.
Jellystone is actually pretty good and not bad. I watched jellystone on Cartoon Network and it gave me entertainment Execpt disco fever i didnt like it
The fact that they were willing to reference Space Ghost Coast to Coast is definitely an awesome inclusion to me. Now I kind of want to see them have Harvey Birdman, if they can get away with it.
Peter Potamus is already in though, so doubtful. Would be cool though.
@@RickiTikkiTavi"You get that thing I sent ya?"
i mean they did reference the brak show tho
They kind of do, but Birdman actually died protecting Jellystone in the show
It does have that early SpongeBob writing which is awesome

Agreed. Jabber Jaw was just a Clone of Curley Howard anyway. This gave her something to let her stand on her own and not just be an actor knock-off.
Her and Auggie being girls makes them so much better
Omg the second I heard C.H. Greenblat I knew it was about to be great
The Space Ghost villains put a smile on my face from the old days of Adult Swim.

There so many H-B Characters in the entirs show that it was nearly Impossible to keep track.
Some were Iconic and some wefe very obscure.
I love the Brak walk
I mean say what you want about genderbending, making Jabberjaw a girl is pretty based 😂
But i gotta ask, did She and her friends get no respect? What did Scooby do that She'd neglect? They'd be keeping all their does in check since she and her friends (woulda) had NO RESPECT!

Freakin love the show and I'm literally addicted to old school Hannah barbara

The New Scooby-Doo Movies, Yogi's Gang, Laff-a-Lympics, The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour, Yogi's Space Race and Yogi's Treasure Hunt has nothing on this.

Its not faithful to the originals at all but its hilarious. The art style is an eye sore though.
Cool Short
I hate the awful cal arts re design of these characters. That's probably the only reason o have not watched it but I love the nostalgia behind it
The art looks sub par at best. Hopefully the writing makes up for it.
Same old animation style tho
Sex changes
Characters like the banana splits turned into villains....
Nah. For me. This series is on the same bag as Velma.
This show is terrible and they made the Hanna-Barbera's completely woke! This show has ruined my childhood! #CancelJellystone
