The woman in red that they sent to Kings Landing was Elinda Massey, daughter of Gormon Massey who sits in Rhaenyra’s council. Elinda has been one of Rhaenyra’s ladies-in-waiting since Season 1. She’s a very loyal friend of hers and I’m happy they’re giving her a bigger role in the show

@@MayhapsYes The spells were used in prime Valyria. Not really Targs post doom. Bloodraven and couple other targs use magic due to first men lineage (that have children of the forest blood and old gods magic in them, ex: starks, reed) but none we have seen have used fire spells like prime valyrian mages did. We do know that there were 2 main factions in Valyria, The Dragonriders and the Mages. Martin said we will see more of the fire mages in the future so hopefully we got more lore reveals.
That's not necessarily true, in the books they make it clear that Viserion is a much bigger Mama's boy than Rhaegal or even Drogon. So far we don't know if she can control the other two as she just had her first flight with Drogon. Dany's bond with her dragons is unprecedented given that she literally breastfeeds them, there's still a lot we don't know

When Alfrid is talking about women not being trained in military tactics and warfare, it's really an indictment on the Westeros system. As soon as Viserys named Rhaenyra heir to the throne, she should have been started on a military education.

I mean, Aegon barely seems to have been taught himself. Viserys seems generally lax in overseeing his kids' studies (same as how Aegon doesn't even speak Valyrian when that isn't really something he should've been able to skip out on), I wonder if it's because his own lessons were more relaxed since he was raised not expecting to be king

The second largest Dragon on this show is The Cannibal, then Vermithor, then Sheepstealer, then Silverwing, then Dreamfyre (Helaena’s), then Caraxes, then Meleys, and Syrax is next basically the same size as Meleys and almost as fast. FYI.
idiot show runners could've easily had 5 or 6 seasons if they didn't cram a bunch of things in season 1 and so far in season 2. That way there'd be more story and character development

I had the same thought about the witch as you Aaron. And I actually interpreted the Larys dude looking at her as looking around the room wondering who he was talking to. It didn't feel like he looked AT her, but instead looked in that corner of the room, his look also didn't look of that as giving someone eye contact, but that of "huh, wtf?" Also I can't say I agree with Aaron that the people wouldn't go for Rhaenyra only because of what he said directly after. All they want is food. And had everyone done as they should have and respected her as being next in line, no war would have broke out, and so no issue for war. Your love for a ginger is blinding you Aaron
The whole point of the green claim rests on the fact that if they don’t usurp, Rhaenyra will have to kill them to secure her claim bc the realm won’t accept a woman on the throne. The show is biased to the blacks and is trying to stake the entire green claim on a misunderstanding between Viserys and Alicent.
My interpretation of the panic attack scene: Alicent is obviously terrified of Aemond - she figures out he had to do something with Aegon's injuries. The whole time we see her champion the greens, because feels she is doing the right, moral thing. In fact, Alicent was kept around being useful, but small and not dangerous. She now realizes that she has no real voice and is surrounded by dangerous men united in their hatred for Rhaenyra and is no longer useful to them. She feels betrayed and regretful because she sacrificed her whole life to this thing and now she is irrelevant and in danger. Alicent knows Aemond is a capable sociopath. She hates what her contributions have unleashed.

I love VERMITHOR and from furious with his fate. I’m also annoyed how Dany can prance about like Visenya and do whatever she wants while Rhaenyra was chained to being in dragon stone and later kings landing , never leading her armies into battle. At the end of the day, it’s a tragic ending and I guess that’s fine. I don’t like it though. 🫤🫤
As a book fan i never thought in a million years Aegon II would be my favorite in this show over Daemon. A million years later here we are, Tom said one word in this episode and still stole the show for me. Im in awe of this portrayal and i look forward to the future events he will get to perform. LONG LIVE THE KING
Aegon and Daemon are the highlight of season 2 imo! Almost the only 2 characters who feel alive and conflicted, the others dont even begin to compare sadly this season :( Cole was great those last 2 episodes and Rhaenyra was great the first 2 but thats kinda it

Good commentary on how Targaryen are the Targaryens. First, yes, Rhaenys had dark hair in the book. Her Baratheon mother had Valyrian blood of her own though. Jocelyn's mother was Alyssa Velaryon, who was also the mother of King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne. And Queen Rhaena, the Black Bride. There are several Targaryens who don't have silver hair. Aside from Rhaenys, there are the Velaryon boys (Rhaenys having dark hair also is a point against the rumors of bastardy, probably why the show changed her hair), Alysanne had darker blond, and Alyssa, Daemon's mom, had dirty blond. Multiple others down the line haf dark hair, including Rhaegar's daughter with Elia Martell, Rhaenys, who Tywin ordered the murder of during the Sack of King's Landing. Corlys himself has Targaryen blood most likely, considering the conquerors' mother has a Velaryon with a Targaryen mom. Aside from that, the Targaryens either marry each other or the Velaryons. Aside from Rhaenyra's mom, whose mother married an Arryn, most Targ women were married to Targ men. The other exception was a daughter of Daenys who married a petty lord. As of now, Daemon is the purest Valyrian dragonlord in existence. Simplifying genetics shenanigans, he's about 75% Targaryen-Valyrian, as his parents and grandparents were both brother/sister. Rhaenys was lower, as her mother was a Baratheon (even though Baratheons themselves have Valyrian blood, as Orys Baratheon was rumored to be a bastard brother of Aegon the conqueror). After Daemon, his kids with Rhaenyra. Alicent's kids have 37,5% Targ DNA. Rhaenyra has around 55%. Then if we go all the way down to Daenerys, she probably has under 10% at this point (after the dance, the kings marry Martell, Dayne, Blackwood, etc). But she is also the chosen one, so she's special.
i haven’t read the book, i’ve only seen the passage where jace and harwin are described so i don’t know for sure but don’t the velaryon boys have brown hair while rhaenys has black hair? it seems like there is no doubt at all that they are bastards. though i agree it’s hard to depict the difference between brown and black hair in live action so that’s probably why they changed it.
I think Damon's and Viserys' bastard brother is (1). The Smithy with the sick daughter could be (2) look at his hair, Corlys' bastard son Adam (Lenore's dragon intrigued him on the beach while he was searching for crabs), and Seasmoke needs a new rider so he would be (3). This way his Brother Alyn can be the heir of Driftmark because he has always been on the ships - Alyn is Salt and Sea. He saved Corlys from drowning. Not to mention anyone else who could be around. I think they just need to have Valeryion blood to ride a dragon.
Jace is idiot who gave up his real father castle to Freys and made them homeless and he though about giving dragons to random people it is like handing nuclear weapon to your neighbors and tell them to use it when you want it ,great job Jace.

Sorry for my english I'm french Daenerys ONLY rides one dragon Drogo. She never rides the other two. Jon snow was half stark and half Targaryen with black air and he was able to claims and rides one of Daenerys' dragon ( I don't remenber his name but it was always the same he rides) Velaryons have old valerya blood BUT his family never was one of the old dragonrider family. The ONLY one family able to ride dragons who survives the doom was Targaryen. In the show they gave silver air easyly to help us understand who's who's at the beginning but now they are looking to Targaryen's blood outside the royal line and how much they need ?? 50%, 25% or less ?? and they won't all have silver air..... Daemon never really knew his mom who died when he was like 2/3 years old. She rides Maelys with him when Daemon was a baby. She was kind of crazy I like her 😂 So like the Greek myth Oedipe he was sexual with her but BEFORE knowing she was his mother. You can see that even as a Targaryen fine with incest he was kind of shock when he understands she was his mother......😅 Targaryen practices incest a lot, mainly to conserve their dragonrider blood but also to be the only one in power but I don't recall mother with sons so even for them there is a limit 😅😅😅 Like Jace said, some Targaryens were married to other house and they are a LOTS of bastard too. So how much blood you need to be a dragonrider???? It's a really interesting question that the Targaryens NEVER allow before because it kind of questionning the supremacy of Targaryen's magic and power!!

She investigates the root cause of gender inequality by examining the home, the workplace, public squares, transportation, medical researches etc. From pianos to cell phones to car seats etc.
Dany was bonded to Drogon, she is close to all 3 sure they’re her babies, but only bond and ride Drogon. Only 1 dragon for 1 Targaryen, until the rider dies. Then whoever can claim the dragon.

In the books I believe (haven’t read them in a while) it’s speculated that Jace and Luke’s dad could be laenor or harwin because she tried yk with both but no one knows because they inherited the white hair from Rhaenyra but even now in the show version they could fight the claim that they’re Targaryen / velaryon because they’re great grandparent was a Baratheon
Theres no way you genuinely think this. alicent wanted rhaenyra to rule, she said in front of everyone that she would make a fine queen. It's only when it became clear that aegon was going to be crowned by the council anyway regardless of what she did that she made up her desperate plan to crown him herself and manipulate him from behind the scenes (obviously hasnt worked). At no point did she ever say "women cant rule". Not once. Not even through implication.
I.m not sure if this matters ,but when Rhaenyra and Laenor were on the beach they talked about preferring duck or goose so I took that scene as a metaphor or maybe some play on words.
I do like the Mysaria and Rhaenyra team up. I think Mysaria might prove to be a resourceful ally for team black. Baela and Jace stepped up this episode. I enjoyed watching Alicent getting the last of her power stripped away. She knows how Rhaenyra feels now. Aegon got what he deserved. I have no pity for him.

I see a lot of similarities in the Maesters removing Aegons armour to when Samwell learnt to remove Greyscale and cured Jorah. I'd say it's possible that it used to be common practice in the time of the dragons to have to know how to remove chitinous/plate coating from bodies due to dragons being used in war. Since the dragons disappeared, this knowledge was lost to the depths of the citadel library, where Samwell later repurposed it to cure Greyscale

26:05 EXACTLY I made this point on another reaction video as to why they only now just thought of using vermithor and silverwing, and why the 2 of them been without a rider shouldn't matter seeing as dany had 3 dragons following her lead in GOT. The riders should have saved their default dragons and used vermithor and silverwing as plan A against vhagar.
Dragon size wise, aemonds is potentially second largest as the cannibalism is still around who was around the same size as balerion, then after vahgar it’s vermathor who lives on dragonstone

that shot of alicent in the council is easily the best scene in the episode. Nothing can make her a place within this order because it simply doesn't want her to have it. Criston wants her for her body, her sons want her for her labor. Im surprised it took her this long to start melting down
Was it not established that the dragons to some extent do what many real world animals do which is imprint on the first thing they see when born, so for Daenys dragons it was her. While she can only ride one the other two still imprinted on her to some extent
This episode showed why Daemon isn't fit to be king. He thinks being a Targaryen and a Dragonrider is all you need to be a great and successful king, it's obviuosly not. He thinks he can just claim Harrenha being like "this is mine now, make it pretty again and tell the riverlords Daddy's home, lfg!". I hope that in seeing his failure he realizes that it needs more and that it isn't a mistake to trust in RHaenyra.

I had the same thought about the witch as you Aaron. And I actually interpreted the Larys dude looking at her as looking around the room wondering who he was talking to. It didn't feel like he looked AT her, but instead looked in that corner of the room, his look also didn't look of that as giving someone eye contact, but that of "huh, wtf?"
Also I can't say I agree with Aaron that the people wouldn't go for Rhaenyra only because of what he said directly after. All they want is food. The whole point of the green claim rests on the fact that if they don’t usurp, Rhaenyra will have to kill them to secure her claim bc the realm won’t accept a woman on the throne. The show is biased to the blacks and is trying to stake the entire green claim on a misunderstanding between Viserys and Alicent.

My interpretation of the panic attack scene: Alicent is obviously terrified of Aemond - she figures out he had to do something with Aegon's injuries. The whole time we see her champion the greens, because feels she is doing the right, moral thing. In fact, Alicent was kept around being useful, but small and not dangerous. She now realizes that she has no real voice and is surrounded by dangerous men united in their hatred for Rhaenyra and is no longer useful to them. She feels betrayed and regretful because she sacrificed her whole life to this thing and now she is irrelevant and in danger.
Alicent knows Aemond is a capable sociopath. She hates what her contributions have unleashed.

As a book fan i never thought in a million years Aegon II would be my favorite in this show over Daemon. A million years later here we are, Tom said one word in this episode and still stole the show for me. Im in awe of this portrayal and i look forward to the future events he will get to perform. Aegon and Daemon are the highlight of season 2 imo! Almost the only 2 characters who feel alive and conflicted, the others dont even begin to compare sadly this season :( Cole was great those last 2 episodes and Rhaenyra was great the first 2 but thats kinda it

Good commentary on how Targaryen are the Targaryens.
First, yes, Rhaenys had dark hair in the book. Her Baratheon mother had Valyrian blood of her own though. Jocelyn's mother was Alyssa Velaryon, who was also the mother of King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne. And Queen Rhaena, the Black Bride. There are several Targaryens who don't have silver hair. Aside from Rhaenys, there are the Velaryon boys (Rhaenys having dark hair also is a point against the rumors of bastardy, probably why the show changed her hair), Alysanne had darker blond, and Alyssa, Daemon's mom, had dirty blond. Multiple others down the line haf dark hair, including Rhaegar's daughter with Elia Martell, Rhaenys, who Tywin ordered the murder of during the Sack of King's Landing.
Corlys himself has Targaryen blood most likely, considering the conquerors' mother has a Velaryon with a Targaryen mom. Aside from that, the Targaryens either marry each other or the Velaryons. Aside from Rhaenyra's mom, whose mother married an Arryn, most Targ women were married to Targ men. The other exception was a daughter of Daenys who married a petty lord.
As of now, Daemon is the purest Valyrian dragonlord in existence. Simplifying genetics shenanigans, he's about 75% Targaryen-Valyrian, as his parents and grandparents were both brother/sister. Rhaenys was lower, as her mother was a Baratheon (even though Baratheons themselves have Valyrian blood, as Orys Baratheon was rumored to be a bastard brother of Aegon the conqueror). After Daemon, his kids with Rhaenyra. Alicent's kids have 37,5% Targ DNA. Rhaenyra has around 55%. Then if we go all the way down to Daenerys, she probably has under 10% at this point (after the dance, the kings marry Martell, Dayne, Blackwood, etc). But she is also the chosen one, so she's special.
i haven’t read the book, i’ve only seen the passage where jace and harwin are described so i don’t know for sure but don’t the velaryon boys have brown hair while rhaenys has black hair? it seems like there is no doubt at all that they are bastards. though i agree it’s hard to depict the difference between brown and black hair in live action so that’s probably why they changed it.
I think Damon's and Viserys' bastard brother is (1). The Smithy with the sick daughter could be (2) look at his hair, Corlys' bastard son Adam (Lenore's dragon intrigued him on the beach while he was searching for crabs), and Seasmoke needs a new rider so he would be (3). This way his Brother Alyn can be the heir of Driftmark because he has always been on the ships - Alyn is Salt and Sea. He saved Corlys from drowning. Not to mention anyone else who could be around. I think they just need to have Valeryion blood to ride a dragon.

I don't see how they could physically eat it without burning themselves. I took Hugh's line more as a "huh these nigh-invincible creatures we practically worship ARE actually mortal and able to be killed"
In the books I believe (haven’t read them in a while) it’s speculated that Jace and Luke’s dad could be laenor or harwin because she tried yk with both but no one knows because they inherited the white hair from Rhaenyra but even now in the show version they could fight the claim that they’re Targaryen / velaryon because they’re great grandparent was a Baratheon

Theres no way you genuinely think this. alicent wanted rhaenyra to rule, she said in front of everyone that she would make a fine queen. It's only when it became clear that aegon was going to be crowned by the council anyway regardless of what she did that she made up her desperate plan to crown him herself and manipulate him from behind the scenes (obviously hasnt worked). At no point did she ever say "women cant rule". Not once. Not even through implication.
I.m not sure if this matters ,but when Rhaenyra and Laenor were on the beach they talked about preferring duck or goose so I took that scene as a metaphor or maybe some play on words.

I see a lot of similarities in the Maesters removing Aegons armour to when Samwell learnt to remove Greyscale and cured Jorah. I'd say it's possible that it used to be common practice in the time of the dragons to have to know how to remove chitinous/plate coating from bodies due to dragons being used in war. Since the dragons disappeared, this knowledge was lost to the depths of the citadel library, where Samwell later repurposed it to cure Greyscale

Was it not established that the dragons to some extent do what many real world animals do which is imprint on the first thing they see when born, so for Daenys dragons it was her. While she can only ride one the other two still imprinted on her to some extent
This episode showed why Daemon isn't fit to be king. He thinks being a Targaryen and a Dragonrider is all you need to be a great and successful king, it's obviuosly not.
He thinks he can just claim Harrenha being like "this is mine now, make it pretty again and tell the riverlords Daddy's home, lfg!". I hope that in seeing his failure he realizes that it needs more and that it isn't a mistake to trust in RHaenyra.
