- This was my first time flying the ViperJet at my club field. The runway is a little short and a little narrow for turbines ... but I guess it makes you a better pilot. We shall see.

What did you clear coat it with?
Polycrylic from Minwax.
Just brushed it on??
@@BatworxAero I used the aerosol version to apply it but then brushed it out with a foam brush.
@@allensrcadventures Thanks! Have one coming for my kiddo, not sure if we want to clear, or strip the covering off and do a 3/4oz glass cloth over it
Avoid standing behind the model during takeoff. It is a terrible habit, and in my jurisdiction will actually make you fail your turbine license.
He's already passed 😊
@@sendit_rc I know. Just pointing it out in order to illustrate how bad that habit really is.
I don’t usually do that. This was the first time with this plane at this field and the runway is barely wider than the plane … so, I did it to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible and the nose wheel steering repair hadn’t changed the steering at all. … so, let’s call this a safety check, ok.
I passed my turbine waiver weeks ago.
@@allensrcadventures no worries. I do see the narrow tarmac.
The reason why it is considered bad is primarily that you lose a lot of ability to judge speed. Also having to walk while airborne is another huge drawback
@@janmbI walk a lot while flying, more like pacing. I have a hard time standing in place. I force myself to do it when flying with others, but when alone I’m a wandering fool.
