Great video on persimmons trees! I'm kicking myself right now for buying so many trees that I didn't leave space to purchase & plant persimmon & PawPaw trees. Oh well, I'll have to settle for grocery store persimmons. Thanks for the info!

Beautiful trees as always. I have the habit of moving all my citrus pots to the sunniest parts of the yard .. thinking the more sun .. the better. All your trees are so dark green and love the canopy of other tree's. I'm gonna remember this as I start to put some of my planted trees in ground. Tysm 😀

Persimmons are great. Most kakis like fuyu are grafted on lotus rootstocks but there is a growing trend to put them on native rootstocks. If your trees are on lotus the roots will be fibrous but if they are on our native rootstocks they will have a long tap root. Avoid cutting this tap root if you see it on any new plants. If you want your persimmons to take off try planting a goumi beside one of them and watch the sembodic relationship at work. Goumis take nitrogen out of the air and give it to your tree and goumis produce edibles fruits too. . I'm up to about 30 different varities of persimmons in ground here is South Carolina and just grafted another 100+ rootstocks this past spring. If you know how to graft hit me up and I can send you some scionwood next winter. I know everyone says these trees are pest free but in the South from NC to FL growers need to keep and eye out for shotgun bores, scale, and persimmon bores all can damage a tree and the bores can kill your trees. Good luck with your trees, I hope you get a ton of fruit!
